I bought 2 cases from Walmart on Friday May 2nd. They weren't cold, so I stopped by 7-Eleven, paid for a giant cup full of ice, came home, poured about 2-3 cans into it. Well... something's different. There doesn't seem to be nearly enough carbonation, so it's lacking a little bit of that crisp "kick" and edge. It's too soft, overly sweet :( Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.. I've been drinking Baja Blast since it came out in 2004, and I'm one of those people who frequently goes through the Taco Bell Drive through just to get my blast. I will drive across town out of the way to the "other" Taco Bell if I think the one near me's fountain mix is off. This isn't a case of me being used to one fountain "mix" of it, I buy it in any city I visit, even hundreds of miles away. There's definitely far less carbonation. When I pop the top, there's no escape sound of air, it doesn't bubble or fizz. When I pour it, its not nearly as bubbly as other Mountain Dew flavors like Code Red or Voltage. I was planning on buying about 50 cases and storing them. I hope this is just a fluke, for this batch with the expiration date NOV 03 14. Pretty dissapointed :( I've tried drinking some more cans since, it's still the same. I'm tempted to go down to Taco Bell and get some the old fashioned way... but should I? That's not right. Any comments Mountain Dew?
