I do as well and I HATE it. The fact that I hate it, and I pray for it to stop, and that I invite Jesus to change me over and over again shows that my mind and beliefs are in the right place. I mean......what every day man sits and thinks of these things? I bet it is rare. The thing I look forward to the most is my complete change into a new mind and body. I'm so excited to not be able to sin anymore I just get super giddy about it. absolute hands down the most anticipated gift I am looking forward to.
A Christian has not biblical mandate….Bible doesn’t tell you how a Christian suppose to live but Christ said be a Disciple and that has a biblical mandate to live by! Become a disciple now your accountable biblically

I'm finally coming back to Christ after 37 years. I accepted Christ at 17 but didn't take it seriously. Spent many years sinning but always kept Christ in the back of my mind. He never stopped knocking on the door to my heart and I'm so glad it isn't too late for me. I have repented and I'm a work in progress. Thank you Jesus!

I'm also in the same boat. How is He so merciful to accept us who knew the truth but purposely rejected Him for so long? Perhaps He is far more loving and patient than we'll ever know, and is why it will take eternity to give Him the worship He deserves.
Preach brother. After becoming a Christian I struggled with alcohol addiction for many years. I justified drunkenness by telling myself I wasn’t drunk just having a drink or 2. Only I wasn’t stopping after a drink or 2 I was becoming drunk every weekend. God has saved me from drunkenness now. Thank you Jesus
I don't know if you'd consider it to be a nervous condition (I do) or an addiction, but I used to bite my fingernails until they bled since childhood and God cured me of it.
In fact, God did this two weeks before I officially got saved because when I got saved, I had a healthy set of grown fingernails that needed to be trimmed for the first time in my life at that time in my life.
I am so happy that you have stopped ... 99.999% of Christians don't realize that 1) the word for "wine" actually means "grape of the vine", and 2) alcohol is a known toxin. Even in small amounts (like wine - which back in Yehsua's day - was _less_ than 1% - today, wine is around 3%) , it is toxic in a small way. At the clinic I work at, we treat people every day - for alcohol-related issues. It's really bad. Smoking, alcohol, and the vaccine are the big ones we treat for now. If alcohol is in the top 3, that's big. Again, I'm so happy you overcame it. Alcohol is also a "depressant", medically, so we encourage Patients to get active - to get that dopamine and those endorphins going! it's natural, healthy, and we have never treated one Patient for "dopamine" or "endorphin" issues. ha!! Start running, hiking, weight training, skating ..... anything .... just move, and get that heart going. That's the key to health.

CJ, that verse is directed to the saved. The Apostle John wrote all 3 of his letters, First John through Third John, to fellow believers in Jesus. The things John wrote make no sense to the lost.
The Apostle Paul wrote the Epistle to the Romans for the lost, especially since the Roman Road is the Gospel within the epistle.
It has taken me a long time to learn that when we study the Scriptures, the one major rule to keep in mind is "context". I have been a believer in Jesus for over 40 years, and it's within the past 10 years that I have learned about context. So I was taught wrong. It does make a big difference in understanding, and it just makes more sense!
I hope you don't feel attacked. My intention is to help you to get more out of the Word. His Word is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path. Most of all, as you read and study, it really helps to ask the Spirit for understanding. He most certainly will! 😊👍
@@kathierouse5306 Amen Kathie. I have learned and still am learning things about keeping the context within the framework of their time and season, Eccl. 3:1. I saddens me when I hear Christians take OT scripture, scriptures which are to the Jews in some other time and season that ours and apply those scriptures to themselves and us. Studying the bible required one to slowdown the reading and ask mental questions about what you just read.

To be honest, I came to christianity because of the privileges and benefits of christianity (mainly heaven).
However, the more time I spent getting to know God, my faith grew more genuine. And my focus slowly shifted from heaven to God.
Now I can see the positive impact from the commandments and other rules that God gave us.

And it isn't because of my background, or because of what church I grew up in, but it's because God cares enough to point out something that's hindering my relationship with Him, and if I can still hear His voice and feel the Holy Spirit's conviction, then I am still in God's favor.

A lot of decisions that we make are out of the spirit first the way we spend our money the way we pick our spouses the way we communicate with our loved ones family and friends it's all spiritual I think when you have a good solid connection with the Lord and you're in a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ you will begin to see your life change spiritually and things will become better you'll make better decisions you will make better financial decisions but a relational decisions and I see that's how God helps us

Okay hang on The gospel ISNT the whole Bible. The Gospel is the good news about Christ. People will always cherry pick the Bible to a degree. But you can't cherry pick the Gospel. It's about one issue. Christ saving you and either you accept it 100 % or you don't.

Anytime I get quizzed on my Salvation I keep coming back to the fact I am saved. I think God just likes to reassure us.
I have seen Christianity become so watered down, that it breaks my heart-people that think they are fine, aren't. At our church, we call ourselves Christ Followers. We want to let folks know who we stand with and for. There is no compromise with God.

Yes it's in the book of judges which I just finished and all I can say is that many groups of Christianity (progressivism) hurt the Church by picking and choosing scripture and which confuses unbelievers and draws them away from hearing the true Gospel
Its the last verse of the book of Judges. The whole book is about how immoral people were behaving and the author ends by saying: in those days there was no king in Israel, everyone did what was right in their own eyes. What a BANG. Love that verse

with this in mind, we should try to keep in mind that if you are saved you should have the desire to want more of God in your life, but this doesnt mean we are saved by how many actions or how perfect we are, we are saved solely by God's work on the cross that paid the price of our sins
we are not good enough for God, nor will we ever be, but God made a way for us to be cleansed, bought with a price, so God did what He (Jesus, whom also is God) said was impossible for man to do alone

@Austin Hartford The things highlighted in this video are in no way "works" as you are describing it. They described behaviours and thoughts that does not reflect a heart full of Christ. I do agree with you that Salvation is not earned by works only but the points discussed in this video doesn't fall into the category of "works" you are describing. The door is norrow because following Christ is hard and is a constant battle with our flesh, our thoughts (Galatians 2:20-21, Galatians 5:24-25). Following Christ is more than just accept Christ and do all that you well described. After accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we should follow his Commandments and all behaviours that reflects His character and his teachings. This video is not leading people to hell, instead is exposing behaviours and feelings that may corrupt your heart and leave a way for the more evil things to settle in you. God Bless you.

To tell you the truth...when I saw the title of the video, it made me nervous. But, when I watched your video I was relieved because I seem to pass the "test". Thank you for telling the truth and for your teachings. I am always thinking of, and scared of whether I am going to heaven or not, or whether I am saved or not.
You're not alone. Part of me didn't even want to watch this video for fear of being pulled into doubt and despair. But I've found that God is so kind, if you just continually come to him with everything, go to him for help, seek him, trust him...he provides. He makes a way where there is no way. He is our mighty and merciful God. It's hard but reading the word helps so much. A few days ago these verses really spoke to me:

Couldn't agree more. It's comforting to know that God will never leave us or forsake us and if we have put our faith in Christ that we belong to him and nothing can snatch us out of his hand.
But are you really all in? Would you put your family's life on the line for a test from God? If you say no, then you are being honest with yourself that no one can commit to anyone full time, which many have found out already. Also, is God always with you? A father to a child is supposed to love and nurture, and thats to all of his children, even if they despise their father or curse his name. Being that humanity is his children, is that true?

This is solid biblical teaching. A powerful, timely message! We can't pick and choose what we want from the Word of God.
It's not solid biblical teaching. This type of Christianity is called "Jesus plus something else." In this teaching, faith in Jesus is not enough. Our salvation does not depend on what Jesus did, but it also includes our behavior and understanding. Basically he's saying that if someone doesn't behave or understand correctly, they may not be saved. This is not the Gospel (good news), it's actually very bad new.
"Then they asked him, 'What must we do to do the works God requires?' Jesus answered, 'The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.'” John 6:28-29.
Too many Christians get caught up in New Testament legalism. We live by faith, no longer by the law. Christians have been picking and choosing for 2000 years. Every denomination picks and chooses. It's a very human thing to do. It doesn't mean it's correct, or that we don't sometimes pick and choose incorrectly. Of course we do. That's why Jesus had to die. God knew we couldn't ever, ever, get it right.

The narrow gate is for those who put their trust & belief in Jesus. Yes but if you are trusting your personal view of Christ (who is the Word of God) are you trusting and are you believing in his finished work? Pastor Parr is one of the few pastors I have found who actually preaches the Bible and not his feelings and supplemental materials only! Instead of posting your argument, maybe you should ask for clarification if you don't understand something that was said. I've grown spiritually and have a better understanding of the word since I started listening to Pastor Parr. I've shared and discussed his content with my family and share his teaching often with friends.
My relationship with Christ has grown closer and I read my bible more.
I think we should uplift one another instead of argue. If you interpret the word of God to be different than what Pastor Parr is literally reading, send him a message to inquire. That's what I would do. Inquire respectfully instead of posting combative posts in the comments. Hopefully you'll gain clarification and understanding. Pray about it as well. Brother Allen, I can see the Spirit was speaking through you in this message because it is one that needs to be said. We all need to look at our hearts and ask if we are truly following God's word. As you said, this is something for all believers to decide for themselves though. We can seek out wise counsel of course but ultimately we need to seek God and repent of our sins. I fear too many in the church are aiming to please others and to please the world, instead of pleasing the Audience of One!

@Austin Hartford And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen.
117. "Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: 'Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world).

36. And Hell- fire shall be made apparent in full view for ( every ) one who sees.
37. Then for him who transgressed all bounds, ( in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allâh ) .
38. And preferred the life of this world ( by following his evil desires and lusts ) ,
39. Verily, his abode will be Hell- fire;
40. But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires and lusts.
41. Verily, Paradise will be his abode.
42. They ask you ( O Muhammad ( saas ) ) about the Hour - when will be its appointed time?
43. You have no knowledge to say anything about it.
44. To your Lord belongs ( the knowledge of ) the term thereof?
45. You ( O Muhammad ( saas ) ) are only a warner for those who fear it,
46. The Day they see it, ( it will be ) as if they had not tarried ( in this world ) except an afternoon or a morning.

He will abolish the cross, kill the swine, and annul the tribute, but he will leave the she-camel such that no one collects from it. We are sinners Man .Big or Small we gonna sin till death no matter how much we try intentionally or unintentionally . Only jesus can save Us ...he is our saviour .Every sins of us is washed by his blood . SO BELIEVE IN GOSPEL AND YOU CAN BE SAVED
Then why not just read the bible instead of listening to an imperfect man telling you what you need to do?

Excellent video! I struggle with a couple of certain sins, but I know they're wrong and try to lean on the Lord to help me rid of them. Hopefully others will watch this video and if they are Ala carting the bible, they will realize their sin(s) and repent and ask the Lord to come into their lives assuming they're not saved.
