  • In episode 20 of 30 Keys to Unlock the Quran's Meaning, Dr. Shabir Ally discusses the importance of overcoming sectarian bias in understanding the Quran. He explains how interpretations of the Quran have been influenced by the formation of various factions after Prophet Muhammad's death, leading to different understandings of the text. Dr. Shabir highlights examples such as Shi'i interpretations of verses mentioning "two seas" to include references to Ali and Fatima, and Sunni emphasis on predestination to refute Qadariyyah beliefs. He urges Muslims to approach the Quran with an open mind, free from sectarian influence, to better understand its message.

    Hi everyone-
    ☪️TONIGHT (SATURDAY Night) “could” be the night of Laylatul Qadr 🌙 (The night of power). The Quran states that Laylatul Qadr is BETTER THAN 1000 MONTHS (83 years and 4 months).

    Thank you Dr Shabir for this explanation. Indeed esoteric (باطني) "batini" interpretations have been quite misleading and unfounded except in "wishful thinking". The example you cited from Surat Al-Rahman is quite well known. The interpretation appears in some "batini" literature as follows:
    The referencing is as shoddy as it gets as non listed are reliable known transmitters.
    For instance who on earth is بعض اصحابنا (some of our companions). And who on earth is رجل من اهل مصر يقال له طسم (a completely unknown person) ??? Its nonsense 😒

    Allah you who where are and will be in our in most being , may your name be glorified and praised in Us .
    May your Kingdom grow in our deeds and in most lives may we perform your WILL as you LORD lay it down in OUR innermost being where you give us spiritual nourishment, the bread of life superabundantly in all the changing conditions of our lives.
    Let our mercy towards others make up for the sins done to our being.
    LORD do not allow the Tempter to work in us beyond the capacity of our strength, for no temptation can live in your Being LORD and the temperature is only appearance and delusion from which you lead us LORD.
    Through the Light of Knowledge may your power and glory work in us through all periods and ages of time . Amin

    There is sectarian bias srising out if tafsir and hadith which as a christian think has resulted in muslims interpreting Quran with bias.
    They read tafsir as authority
    Hadith as part of fivine Revelation.
    Example
    Crucifiction and death of jesus
    A night mare in islam.
    With 3 interpretation
    1.another was made to look like him and he was killed
    2.he fainetd later revived and went away and died in india
    3.,he was crucified and died then Sllah raised hin
    Mftom thr dead

    THE SUNNIS SHOULD HAVE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE SIX SAHIH (ARE NOT SAHIH) AND THE AUTHORS NOR THE NARRATORS WERE NOT BORN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DEATH OF THE HOLY PROPHET S.W.S. THAT IS WHY THERE ARE A LOT OF FALSE, RUBBISH, NONSENSE AND IRRELEVANT THINGS WRITTEN. ALSO ABOUT THE HOLY PROPHET S.A.W.

    Shabir Ali ... I challange you to explain (in one of your videos) the tribal meeting of "saqifa" and what happened inside it that led to the imposition of Abu-Bakr upon the Muslims as a successor to the prophet Muhammd without the knowledeg of the rest of the Muslims (sahaba) and withoutout consulting with them ... Abu-Bakr was a miserable tribul ruler ... he ruled for Quraish ... lived for Quraish and died for Quraish ... may the curse of Allah be upon Abu-bak and whosoever loves and followes until the day of judgement ... yallah ...

    WHY DON'T THE SUNNI SCHOLARS DON'T SAY THE TRUTH TO THE PEOPLE REGARDING THE ABOLITION AND THE TIME OF BREAKING OF FAST CLEARLY MENTIONED IN THE QURAN.

    The entire construct was established to outdo Christians in their beliefs. As a result, and since it's man-made, as Shabir says, various factions surfaced at the very beginning following example of the prophet, the so called improver. So over the centuries this resulted in improvements, further splitting, different schools of thoughts,, interpretations, and ideas. When the entire construct is false, the entire things just grinds itself down. At least Shabir tries to make sense out of this senselessness. Great key - making sense of chaos

      @boop-oop-a-doop what split? After Jesus' death and resurrection there was no split. Only later where different sects started emerging out of early Christianity including gnostics that eventually became alla followers as they got everything about Christianity wrong. See, you don't even know it, but all you do is follow early heretical Christian sects that morphed into what is now known as alla religion

    May the curese of Allah be upon y Shabir Ali ... we Shia never belive in this verse of the 2 seas as evidence for to follow Imam Ali (apart from a very small and unknown minorities which we ordinary Shia never heard of them) .... Shias belive that the Prophet Muhammd (PBUH) appointed Imam Ali in the khutba (speach) of Al-Ghadir ... see my other notes above

      Astaghfirullah, someone should never course someone in the name of god. It shows the bad state of your qalbi, if you rather pray to curse someone rather then pray for guidance.

    • @HH-pv9ex

      What's wrong with you man. We don't curse here. If you can't have an intelligent discussion go somewhere else.

    • @voltage80x
      @voltage80x Před 2 měsíci

      I’d never heard Shias use that verse as justification either. Also I don’t believe we should be cursing Shabir, that is not beautiful or a good thing to do, it’s a poor way to handle this subject and yourself.
      Rather I had read the Prophet announced on his last speech--“ I leave among you something which is very important, and should be followed. You will not go astray if you take hold of it after I am gone, one part of it being more important than the other God‘s book, which is a rope stretch from heaven to earth, and my close relatives, who belong to my household. These two will not separate from one another till they come down to the pool [In the Hereafter]; so consider how you act regarding them after my departure.
      This obviously points to sticking with his family in belief, which completely counters the Sunni narrative and supports the Shia from my understanding.

    • @artifexdei3671
      @artifexdei3671 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Why are some people cursing Shabir here? Shabir tries to make sense out of senselessness and chaos as a result of desert prophet failed attempt to improve Christianity? Why are people upset?
