This video is a follow-up to last week's post on the rules of playing Connect 4. • How to Play Connect 4 If you want to win at connect 4 here are six strategies that will help.
Did you know in Japan, this game is called connect 5? And instead of using a column, ya put the counters flat on a board and yes! Connect 5 IS more tactically involved! XD Once ya get a three four, that’s the first phase of a guaranteed win and the second is a four in a row! XD
Eric Buffington Yep! ;) I’m pretty random alright! XD And if ya think regular chess is very hard to master, Shogi (Japanese chess) is MUCH worse! 😱😱😱 Ya HAVE to remember all the er, kanjis which tell ya which piece is which and which piece moves where and I don’t wanna bore you explaining it all how to play the game, go watch a video on CZcams that explains it all! XD
+Tom Jain King That's a great idea! I saw this comment and started throwing together some sample videos of games. Here is the first one, and I'll be posting more to show the other strategies working together as I repeatedly beat the computer. czcams.com/video/0kOWNuKDqtA/video.html
Strategy 6 work perfectly with strategy 5. I have owning the column with strategy 5 and then make her realize that I'm going with strategy 6 but it's too late for her to block. (Win-win solution)
And for strategy 5 sometimes I need luck to win. Basically, my opponent has already realized how can I win so she didn't put her block that could make me win instead she put her block in another area. Then, I realized that she knew my plan so basically I did the same thing until she didn't have a choice and put her block to that area and I win
3:00 the best move is Slot 3 for Black. This way Black can block a Red diagonal and start the Lethal 7 shape trap, If Red follows with Slot 3, Black blocks and Red wastes a move. If Red moves Slot 4, Black blocks and Red still wastes a move. If Red chooses Slot 2 to attempt a Vertical Scissors, Black plays Slot 3, Red blocks, Black plays Slot 2 to improve chances of getting the Lethal 7 shape while pressuring Red. 3:30 This is a very bad position. For Black, after Red takes the block, the only attempt to salvage the position is to move Slot 5. However, Red can just counter by playing Slot 4 after that, thus blocking off all of Black's attempt to escape and gain any ground. 4:48 if Red plays Slot 1 or 2, Red will be forced to block allowing Red to move into Slot 2 winning the game. 6:54 The correct move for Black to activate this trap is by moving into Slot 3 not Slot 5. by Black playing in Slot 3 instead of Slot 5, Black has 3 ways to win instead of 2.
Yes, there are different and better moves than the ones I showed, I was using this to illustrate the different strategies. Thanks for your input on this.
Not sure why the discussion is about what Red could do with its turn. It is Black’s turn on this board. Red has already made 9 moves, while Black has made 8. So Black just uses slot 3 to win.
Hi eric buffington! Want to know how to really win in connect 4??? Even and Odd rows is very important to win a game of connect 4, a lot of your videos make mistakes in game. And to keep options open, load up the center column with 4-5 pieces in center (5 if he does not work at the middle at all). After that, Start spamming pivot points (2 lines for 1) moveS
Tic tac toe master comes back as connect four master
Facts
Strategy 5: this strategy is really between 1 and 2 have a double row if you are doing it
There is definitely some overlap with the strategies! Good observation.
This video made me rethink connect four
2:46 In this position red could also use their piece near the edge to set up a diagonal there.
Lol time to troll my sister.. 😂
Can you make a video about stacked up games in connect 4? Meaning. If all the pieces are starting in the center. Where to go?
wow 10 comments lets make that eleven although that doesnt help
Where is Diamond Empire?

CONNECT 4
Great stuff, but you really need to get a pop filter for your mic.
Thanks for the feedback! :) I have one now.
Yeah the thing of owning a column I like to call that “the waiting game” you just wait until they have to go there
definitely! :)
Yes sometimes I do that too.

Looks for a video on how to win at connect 4.. "I'm not going to tell you what I would do"
A perfect game of connect four ends with no winner, so there is no actual way to always win. Sorry. :(
@@EricBuffington agree
Connect four is now a competitive sport
I watch this to win in meep city
OK BUT CAN YU WIN WITH A SQUARE ?
You need to have 4 in a row to win. Perhaps having a square can be a house rule, but it's not an official way to win.
the best trick to win connect 4 is to try harder than your opponent and you will win 100% of time.
the main thing you need to do is set up a trap!
Why does this sound like a khan academy video
Maybe because I'm a math teacher????
4 in a row
How should i do this if 30000 people have seen this
With this game, just do it better than them!
I came here because me and friend plays Pigeon games and I am tired of that heffa beating EVERYTIME!!!
hope this helps! :)
i don't need those i already good at this
That's great! The more tricks you know, the better you can stop other people! Have fun with it!

Yeet? What is that? Like a yellow beet? :) jk
This video is usefull, but the strategies are pretty basic
yup, it's definitely for beginners. I wouldn't want to give away all my strategies! :)
