That's not quite true. I've seen people defend a star perfectly and still have 30 dropped on them, that is what stars do.
Everyone telling me that having thirty put on you automatically means you got cooked lacks nuance, genuinely cant believe that any of you saying this have actually watched a full game of Basketball before. You can defend a star perfectly in every phase of the game, hold them to awful efficiency, give them a very tough game, and they can still drop thirty on you.
Look at game four of the Lakers v the Nuggets in 2009. Did Kobe cook any of his defenders that game? No. They played him extremely well. Forced him to the outside, made him take awful shots, harsh on him physically. No one came out of the game saying Kobe cooked anyone, despite his thirty. The Nuggets won, and that was down to the fact that Kobe was horribly inefficient and ended up just chucking shots.
If I defend you perfectly throughout a game, don't make a single mistake, don't let you get to your spots, but you drop thirty on 11 of 29 shooting, did you cook me? Obviously not, I cooked you.

I didn't watch the game last night, so seeing all the clips of Brooks this morning, I thought that this was one of those rare good games he had. Checked the statline and...nope.
