    You can buy a gold medal axis at the raz livestock auction in Harper Texas for around 800 to a 1000 then put it inside a fence and charge some city folk 3500 that's a hell of a deal

      Good luck getting any "gold medal" axis these days for less that $3500. More likely around $4000 for a 160"+ deer...if not more. Prices have gone through the roof since last February.

    I hate any pic of a buck or bull when they stretch there arms forward or have angled to make it look bigger. When I take pics the antlers are almost touching my chest

      I just don't get taking pics and trying to make it look bigger. Either be happy with what you kill or don't kill it.

    I’m very new to hunting and I’m a resident in Texas. I need advice on how to get started. I’m very eager to get my first kill.

      You are either going to have to get a lease and go hunt or book a hunt with an outfitter and go hunt with the outfitter. TX is 98% private land, so if you don't own any land you will have to pay to go hunt.

    I thought it was still on the box

      I'm not sure what still on the box means when referring to axis hunting.

    The only time I am able to hunt out of state is April, what are the majority of axis like in mid April? Are they mostly in velvet or are there bucks hard horned at that time?

    How do axis deer in Florida look like in February? Hard antlered or in velvet? Thanks.

    • @Huntdoublediamond
      @Huntdoublediamond  Před rokem

      Honestly I have no clue. I’ve never hunted them in FL.

    • @brandonrogers1950

      They can be hard antlered or in velvet at the same time

    • @Huntdoublediamond
      @Huntdoublediamond  Před rokem

      @@brandonrogers1950 yessir. As well as no antlers at the same time. The best time to hunt them in TX is May-July though.

      axis deer grow and shed their antlers based on time of birth essentially and they breed all year long which results in different deer in different stages of antler growth all year long regardless of region or location

      @@Rustyramoutfitters325 I've heard people say that about the birthday, but I don't know if anyone has been able to definitely confirm that or not. It sounds good and kind of makes sense. It would be nice to know definitively. Hopefully one day we'll know more about them.
