My husband and I get called old-fashioned all the time. I stay home and take care of our home and he is out in the workforce and we have been married for 11 years. We are both very much happy and in love with this lifestyle because it works for us. This doesn't work for everyone but we are very much happy and in love

I grew up in the 1960's (born in the last month of 1959) and I had home economics in school in the 1970's. My mother, my grandmother and my two aunts were all housewives. This is all I knew in the 1960's. I'm so thankful I had this traditional background. Many mothers had lots of children then and they were kept very busy. They had no time for boredom. Now when a woman stays-at-home, some women are from the sandwich generation looking after children and also elderly parents. That keeps them busy too. I did this as well. When you're at home you can help other extended family not only your own family. I have been at home for 26 years now and don't regret it. I personally don't know how woman can have a career and a family too. No wonder women are stressed to the hilt. Staying at home is a blessing if you want your family to thrive and this helps society too. Homemakers are very important. Most important job in the world. God bless you Alena for telling the younger women this. It's nice to see as an older women that the tradition of homemaking continues for future generations to come. Keep doing it and don't let it get to you when people malign you. Your husband and son is very blessed to have you at home. They will need you for many years to come even when your son gets older.

@@JodieBrandman No problem. I just think it's great younger women do this. It will help your marriages and families. Through the years I have seen many women stressed out and leave husbands or want to be the boss. The sad thing is children suffer for this. Husbands suffer. When a family is happy and stable that is best. I believe when a woman is a Traditional Homemaker your chances of staying married and having a happy family is better. God bless all young housewives and moms out there. Your work is so important. Don't let the world get to you. You are doing the right thing.

I think Alena is teaching a great lesson......there are thousands of jobs you can do staying at home, without having to commute and loads of creativity you can enjoy around your family and household , which gives you the opportunity to enjoy your children more and at the same time no let let the romance disappear, as that is exactly what keeps a marriage at live

I’m currently 19 and at university but dream of being a housewife one day. I feel so disconnected to modern society I just can’t relate and feel I can’t voice my needs through fear of judgment 😔

Very interesting conversation I found myself agreeing & disagreeing throughout... I felt myself in a similar situation after having a baby. I have my business now, set up in a way which works for our family. But the urge to scale always looms... divine timing. Life is phases and right now I’m in the early years... my young family is my first priority xx

I'm in my 50s and due to chronic illnes I became a stay at home wife anc then a stay at home mum. I loved my life, but ut has been isolating. When the children were young I had a few friends who stayed home part time but they eventually went back to work full time. Now my health is poor and my friends are few. My lovely home is messy. I wish there had been #tradwife when I was first married in '88. We havd been happily married for 35 years this month. X

For me it is just financial. I can’t do it because I carry the insurance and can not afford the private insurance. When I was younger and really wanted to do and could have figured it out my parents made it clear that they expected me to work.

I'm a stay at home mom and I only get criticism, despite having a university degree, having worked in a corporate environment for many years before, being a home owner (not the one we live btw) and having a separate income and investments from my husband 🤷🏻‍♀️
They can't place me in their mental socioeconomic hierarchy, so they reject me altogether.

Lol, she is still working in marketing and beauty. I don't get trad wives who earn money and have platform. That's a very Feminist thing to do _ writing books and all. Just say you wanted a job you enjoy and a family.
Very dangerous to lead other women into being a financially dependent...as you have a privileged career and make substantial money.
