This video helped me out a lot thank you !!
glad you liked it noneyobizznessssss
I bought the RX-100iv back in 2016 and still use it!
good for you not buying in to the need to upgrade with all the new cameras over the years haha
If you need a more recent Sony RX100 camera, I would suggest a -5a(35mm-equiv 24-70mm) or a -7(35mm-equiv 24-200mm). I have worn out a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS50 and a Canon Powershot S100. I would also get the rubber grip for the rigth side for $15US.
Thanks for the advice :)
I mainly need a camera for travel to take photos of my toddler. Mainly at Disney 🎉 I prefer this form factor but what do you recommend? I think photo stabilization and auto-focus is most important feature. No real price cap.
I actually love this camera too for getting it in to parks and sporting events, people don't question it! Any newer cameras are going to have better AF than this so just do your research but if price isn't any issue I like the idea of the fuji x100 V if they drop in price
I love this line of cameras so much I have 2, first bought for my motorcycle trip, they just work great, only downside is battery not great must have 3 or 4 for full day ✌
haha yessss the battery life is so bad! I want them to update this line ASAP lol
I've had an RX100iii and gave it to a friend. It missed some close-up shots, as a travel photographer, so I got an RX100vii and am finally fully satisfied. I keep it in my bag with a few extra batteries, because it does such a better job than my phone. My best shots get printed up 20x30 on average, so it matters what I'm getting, file-focus-resolution wise.
I also have Leica and the Sony a1 for business (real-estate and art insurance) but they're huge and heavy in comparison.
sounds like you have some unreal tools for photography! I'd love the Vii but this does the trick for now :)
I just bought the M3 as my secondary camera. I'm using a full frame equipment normally on my foto trips but have started cycling and wanted to have a lightweight all-in-one
solution. I find the 24 to 70 mm range is sufficient for many situations and the image quality is fine. The camera has a decent evf, and is easy to use.
It does of course not provide the "mechanical" haptic feel of my Nikon D750 with its huge optical viewfinder, but it does allow you to manual focus quite well and
it offers just enough haptic manual control.
Congrats on your purchase :) It's a fun one!
I have the M6 and you crop with the zoom lens. As this is my third RX I agree with the fragility point. The newer ones are phase detect AF. My main beef with Fuji is only one (23mm?) lens so that was out for traveling (& the inflated cost). Enjoyed your review.
Thanks for the comment man, jealous you have the m6 haha - yeah I like the zoom on this camera for sure
You can manually hold the flash upwards and use it as a bounce flash, I did this several times with mine :)
There is a mod where you can remove the 4k video time limit and also you can use a powerbank connected to the usb port of the camera and it will work while charging :) I use mine to shoot several hours timelapses. It's a really great little camera!
that's such a cool feature to bounce light haha imma try that
20mp...can enlarge photos to much more than "small prints".
haha true.
Save your money and just get the older versions of the x100 line. I owned the x100 original when it first came out. I stopped upgrading after the x100T. It was great enough for the travel photography I do and still happy with it. The latest version adds superfluous features that I don’t use.
Yeah that's a good call, unfortunately they are still selling for $800 USD for the x100T
As someone who has a Fuji and a Sony RX100, the Sony is good but not if you're using it above 800 ISO when file quality falls below what I would call acceptable. It also barely has any bokeh. In a well lit scene, the Sony is good and it has the advantage that I don't feel that I'm likely to be robbed for it. I wouldn't use it for landscapes as it doesn't have the subtlety of a Fuji. The colours are much better on the Fuji. The crop factor on a one inch sensor is x2.7 so f/1.8 is actually f/4.86 at the widest. On balance, a modern iPhone in RAW is as good as the Sony as long as you're not cropping..
zoomed in to 200 and get close background more out of focus than at 23 f2, also autofocus is way better in RX and truly a pocketable camera, with todays noise reduction software noise not so much an issue
This is super helpful hector. Thanks buddy I’ll keep it dialed under 800 iso
Which fuji do you use?
@@itsawave3127 X-Pro1, 2, 3, XT3, XH2. The main one that lives in my bag is the X-Pro2 though the XH2 is technically superior in almost every way.
Can I ask do any of your Fuji cameras include a similar lens and fit into your jeans pocket? Genuine respectful question. Thanks
I got one of these small Sony cams, regrettably just to move the focus point requires several menu engagements to complete what should be a simple task. How can it be this hard? What am I missing?
are you sure? I use the d-pad to move around the point control focus
@@MattyDCCollins Sony rx100m6. I keep thinking, it cant be this hard. But it seems to be for me.
@@nobody1841 Try the bottom autofocus area function!
@@nobody1841 you should be able to just press the dial pad and change your focus area.
Did you have trouble sharing files? I cannot send the photos I take my phone and i’ve been looking to figure out how. Thanks!
I actually haven't tried the wireless transfer on it - I know that Sony has a new app though :)
It is possible, Imaging Edge Mobile is the name of the app you need to transfer the files. Works pretty well!
Which app do you use to connect the camera to the iPhone?
hmm I used to use play memories but I think Sony just came out with a new app!
Bro i thought you were a super popular youtuber
haha thanks, but i'm just getting started :)
is it too big or heavy to carry in your pockets or for the streets?
jacket pocket is fine but jean pocket is a little heavy - still works though
I have an S100. Any compelling reason to switch to an RX-100 (probably IV but any) for street/travel stills? I know the specs, but talking real world results.
Or ZV-1 - those are getting cheaper ($550 ish new grey market)
don't love the zv1's for photography but they're great for video!
likely not - if you know the s100 inside out and works for ya
Is it an optical viewfinder or ev?
EV
Yes, electronic pop up viewfinder that works good!
Dang, $250 is a deal! I'm still using the RX100 III and honestly would buy it again if it ever craps out on me. I don't see any reason to upgrade haha.
hahh yeah they were ahead of their time for sure!
Yes sir
YESSIIRRR! 🔥
Is this a one inch sensor?
It is yeah! Same size as those ZV-1 cameras but some cool added features, I guess newer isn't always better lol
seen on ticktok this camera is perfect for taking shots on concerts due to zoom quality. is that true?
the zoom is a cool feature but to be honest it would be great for concerts because of the built in flash :)
@@MattyDCCollins tysm
..its $700 on Amazon...that's nuts
hahah yeah I got a great deal :)
If you dont need the flippable screen or view finder and just want to get into photography you can find the mark 1 for about 150 Euros
Hard to take some of your Cons into consideration when you are reviewing a used camera
Yeah honestly it was hard to come up with a lot of cons :) such a beast of a camera for the money
No it's not. But i would love an update to the incredible rx1r ii
hahah I like your summary. I totally agree about the update being necessary! They would sell like HOT CAKES!
i had the mk iv its so busted up i need to buy a new one on ebay. i love it alot
yeah they kinda are fragile cameras but when they work, an awesome tool for photos and video
Is it worth getting repaired?
