I installed it myself so I only paid for the equipment. I've got about $16 K into the Dynon system and the 430 I bought used for $6200.00 then of course you have all the small stuff like breakers and wiring. That's not counting the second radio the NAV 2000 and the audio panel.
It's a cheap one off ebay. I can get you the name if you are interested. I think it was less than $10. I cut the tabs off it for the strap. makes it look more like an instrument.
No I wasn't testing the autopilot, I was pressing the wrong buttons and it wasn't doing what I wanted. I would try to get it to follow the approach and it was ignoring me. So I would disconnect. Then, tried again, till I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.
