I think Galeforce was probably a mistake. Even on ADCs, Galeforce is usually considered a defensive low-damage option. I'd have gone Bork instead, as it's the single highest AA DPS item in the game, and Janna even synergizes with the movespeed steal. Rageblade second would then boost both the Bork and your passive's on-hit damage, and you stack it quickly because of the HoB.
Generally speaking, for any off-meta ADC-like pick, you're going to find the most success going one of Bork, Triforce, or Shiv first item, depending on kit and what you're trying to accomplish. Since Janna doesn't have any particular synergy with Triforce, that leaves Bork or Shiv.

bork is best on champions with an attack speed steroid. janna gets on-hit scaling with her movespeed, but no built-in attack speed. rageblade + movement speed legendary items gives ideal synergy, as all the movespeed mythics don't give enough speed to be worth it.

Your "ideal synergy" supposes that Janna's MS is a big enough source of damage to be worth explicitly building for over the alternatives, but you clearly have never run the math.
With just boots and lv5 W, Janna has 407 MS. After acquiring a 7% MS item, she goes up to 429 MS. Janna has 325 base MS, and converts 30% of her bonus MS into damage, so this is +25 (407 MS) to +31 (429 MS) on-hit damage.
Bork's on-hit deals 9% of the target's current health. A lv9 opponent probably has somewhere around 1200 total health, if they're a squishy champion. Bruisers and tanks will have more. On average, Bork will be hitting a target at 50% health, so we take 9% of 600, for 54 on-hit damage. This is a *baseline*, a number that will only grow as the game goes on and enemies start having more health. This is in addition to the 40 AD and 25% AS Bork gives, and its 3-hit passive.
After building Bork, you now have enough on-hit damage to make Rageblade worthwhile. That's 25 (Janna) + 54 (Bork) + 30 (Rageblade) = 109 on-hit damage against a 600 current HP enemy. If you had just rushed Rageblade, it would only be 25 (Janna) + 30 (Rageblade) = 55 on-hit damage, which is hardly worth multiplying. If you had built a Zeal item first, it would be 31 (Janna) + 30 (Rageblade) + 30 (converted crit) = 91 on-hit damage, which is *still* less damage than Bork. Nevermind the fact that by second item, champions have more than 1200 total health, meaning Bork's damage is already scaling up from its baseline. By lategame, even squishies have 1800+ HP, taking an average of 81 on-hit damage per hit from Bork alone.
Let's not forget that Bork itself *also* has special Janna synergy. When Bork's 3-hit passive triggers, it gives +25% MS for 3s, so Janna will hit 480 MS (with no other MS items) or 493 MS (with one +7% MS item; each subsequent MS item adds another 13 MS). This gives her +46 to +50 on-hit damage during this time, instead of +25 to +31. But even without this, it would *still* be her best rush option.
Seriously, Bork damage is immense. There's still a legitimate reason you might want to rush Shiv instead (waveclear), but you can't compete with Bork in terms of raw damage output.

It's a good support into short range matchups bot. You can harrass them, get prio, roam mid, etc and still have great disengaged with Janna support later in the game.

Hey! I’ve been experimenting with Janna Mid and Jungle and I’ve found that my favorite builds actually use Glacial Augment or Electrocute and goes for a more Hybrid AD/AP style. Boots of Swiftness, Nashor’s tooth, Triforce, Shiv/stormrazor, Cosmic Drive, and BORK means you get a mean Roaming On-hit build that is hard to build against.

The nice thing about you going AD rather than ap on this build is that it lured me (and I assume others) to watch.

Janna mid is such an interesting pick tbh. Pekin went up against a hyper gank jungler like Jarvan and I think only died once from it? And in the process having em burn flashes. Then outside of lanning phase it's clear while providing utility, his damage was stacking up with others and they won a lot of fights. Obviously the brand popped off as well, but the pick is genuinely interesting. Didn't feel like an easy comp to fight into but it worked. Really cool game.

ive been trying this out with PTA or fleet and ghost didnt think about HoB but maybe I'll try this too. and in supp role. Farming as janna just feels rlly hard wo Q spam bc of mana issues and low early dmg even with cull so I had to rush statik.

Seems like a pointless build to even attempt. You don't really have access to half the kit, you're constantly in fear of every other champion, all you're doing is auto attacking and slowing one person. There's a dozen champion who can achieve the same playstyle but better, so why even bother trying to make it viable?

It's not about "making it viable" - it's about trying something out. Plus mid is a SOLO lane. So only being able to slow 1 person is all that matters, for the most part. Plus you have 2 forms of self peel (first is your Q and second is your R). Ridiculous movespeed, even without boots, so ganks are pretty easy to run form (unless it's J4).
Not every champion has to be able to affect the whole battlefield to be useful. It only takes killing 1 key champion for the whole fight to fall apart.
@@Dyanosis It's a 5v5 game mate, 'solo' lane does not mean your lane is solo, the junglers, tops and supports will constantly be ganking once you leave your low rank playing. I mean just looking at the roster Vayne is a better pick to achieve the same thing. A knockback, a gap creator and stealth all while not doing horrendous damage. Or Akshan with his impossible to gank getaway. Or Ezreal with his blink. Heck even Gnar has a jump and does this better than Janna. Quinn is insanley hard to gank and super fast if you want speed and a useful kit. That's just to name a few off the top of my head. This pick is pointless and just bad. Trying to force something that isn't there. Jarvan isn't the only one who can easily gank Janna, all the main junglers can with gap closers, like Khaz, Shaco, Reksai to name a few. But all it takes is a single hard CC from your opponent and any jungler can gank Janna. Shes squishy as hell.
