YAAAAAYYYYY!!! It's the most wonderful time of the year Instagram // / gracewithab. . goodreads // / grayseareads twitter // / grayseareads tumblr // / grayseareads email // graceradu1@gmail.com
I really like Frankenstein! I read Dracula earlier this month which I think is very similar to it, specifically because they both have that Gothic epistolary style of writing. If you like Frankenstein I would recommend Dracula! I actually like Dracula more, even though nowadays it's a common known fact that Dracula is a vampire. It takes a little bit of the suspense away but I still found it interesting and engaging.
I'm planning to read Frankenstein in October as well! I have a hand-me-down collection novel from my mom that has Frankenstein, Jekyll/Hyde, and Dracula that I'm hoping to finally open up. I chuckled over your mom calling them "odd" things especially since my mom is the complete opposite. Practically every thing she reads is Neil Gaiman, Grimm fairytales, or non-fiction crime books.
October is my favorite reading month too! I actually haven't even heard of any of these (except Frankenstein, which I've read and enjoyed) but I'm going to check them out, because they all all sound really cool! Some of my favorite YA spooky books that are off the beaten path include Tamsin by Peter S. Beagle, Century by Sarah Singleton, and the Witch Family (which is middle grade, but I loved it as a child!).
I had to read Dracula for a class recently, and I loved every second of it! I don't usually get creeped out while reading, but the descriptions of dracula had me squirming! So good!
i read the classic frankenstein my sophomore year of high school. it was slow at first, i have to admit, but it is a very enlightening and heart-wrenching read. A lot different from the modern day tellings in cartoons and movies!
I want all of these! If you want to you should sign up for Amazon affiliates and put links in your description so we can buy books with your link and you can make commission. Do people do that on Booktube? They should. I'm coming from the CZcams art community and it's common there
This vid started with some notes from In the Hall of the Mountain King/Grieg. If u r interested I have more Halloween spooky music on various playlists on my channel. I don't upload any vids though. I'm not after subs. Music can enhance the spooky atmosphere while reading 'seasonal' books.
There is a Penny Dreadful B&N Collectibles book like the Frankenstein one you got! I recently got it and I love it! It has all the classic horror stories like Dracula, Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, etc.
Already added Stalking Jack The Reaper to my TBR👍🏻 Can't wait to pick it up🤗 Your headband, love it🎃 I recently read Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix and really enjoyed it, plus it has a very unique concept. Definitely recommend it
Gothic literature is my favorite to read this time of year, and since you've already got your spooky reads I would recomend you check out E. A. Poe short stories. Neil Gaiman is another author perfect for this season that is much more contemporary. 📚🎃🍂
love this video! October is the best month and i'm so excited! this is random, but i feel like you and i are very similar! i have the same reading interests as you and every book that i have read per your recommendation, i have loved! may be because our birthdays are super close! well anyway i hope you're having a lovely day! ❤
is stalking jack the ripper gory? I'm a scaredy cat & have some real problems with intricate descriptions of gore, murder etc., but it just sounds so interesting >_
Hello Grace! I absolutely love watching your videos, and I would definitely say that you inspire me a ton, and I idolize you. My family and I are coming to Disneyland for our 10th (11th for mother and I, as we've been to Tokyo Disneyland in September 2016) family trip from the 13th to the 19th of December (Universal on the 15th), and I would absolutely love to meet you. It is actually my mission to meet you and take a photo with you, along with some Disney CZcamsrs, as well as your friend Simply_Kenna! I hope to see you there, and hopefully you can help make my wish come true. (:
I love Frankenstein! It's a great gothic read and the prose is so beautiful! I hope you love it!

Could you maybe make a video on how to feel a bit more autumnal/how to make your bedroom more autumnal? :) love your hair, btw!
i wasn't much for modern Frankenstein but I love the classic one by Mary, she writes it beautifully and quotes are to die for.

Great video! I feel you would love the manga by Junji Ito. You can read it online an its crazy weird and creepy.
Joe Hill (author of Locke and Key) is also one of my favorite novelists. He writes spooky and endearing stories. Check them out if your haven’t!

I highly recommend "These Shallow Graves" by Jennifer Donnelly. I read it last fall and it was oh-so perfect.

Another spooky recommendation is The House of Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne :)
Feankenstien retelling in modern day? Please elaborate I need this in my life x
Would I have to read the Jack the Ripper book before I read Dracula? I'm not interested in the Ripper at all, but I'd like to read the 2nd one.

I also plan to read Frankenstein :) Would you want to do a buddy read?
Have you started and/or finished The Familiar yet? I read it recently and am really interested to hear what other people think of it.
I love that copy of Frankenstein. Where did you get it?
It's from Barnes and Noble
Frankenstein is just.... o
I enjoyed the Frankenstein movie more than the book, I thought the book was extremely slow
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PILLOW?!?!?!
how do you do your hair like this??
