I agree with you about D2. It's a perfectly functional, durable steel. Takes a keen edge and holds the edge well.
This setup you can go wrong. really a great Knife and ferro rod combo.

wow you got Ferro rod that works ... mine couldn't start toilet paper... and out of box i had to sharpen this "supposedly D2 steel" ... great review BRO

Mine works really well.
Great review, I bought both sets and love them. I used the included Para cord to loop through the stricker and ferro rod, and just wrapped the remaining around the sheath. I like to keep stuff together so my only change or request would be to have a secure place to store the Allen wrench

You'll find the sheath loosens up over time, so that you'll get a little bit of rattle. Not a whole lot though. I've also found that my edge skims against the clip, so that there's cut lines in the leather. D2 is a good solid steel, but it rusts. I oil mine if I use it for food processing. Like I just used it for taking apart a chicken. Washed it, then oiled it. Holds an edge nicely. Got one of these a year ago, and still loving it. It is my every day carry. Retired my Sharpfinger for this knife. Oh, the scraper that came with it, it broke the other day. I haven't used it, so not sure why, but the handle came apart.

I have not heard of that issue your having with the Striker is this set over a year old...
If it is fairly new then it will be taken care of .
I have loved Everything from holtzman gorilla survival Gear .It all has treated me right no issues so far.

@@JBOutdoorsAndMore pretty sure it's been over a year. It is all good. I can just glue it back together, and the knife spine is usable anyways-- push come to shove. I'll check out some your other stuff. Just had your video pop up.

Yes you can definitely replace the fire steel. As I’m sure you can contact the company directly and or purchase a separate one in their website
As for your other question . Im not sure on the weight.
I do not own a scale and therefore I am unsure. I will say this.
This is a awesome setup and I wouldn’t mind joking around with this attached to me. Distant way much at all I feel and is a durable setup.
