  • For Memorial day weekend I decided to try a new trail. Little did I know that it was Indian Mountain trail 4s21. This trail is rated blue more difficult. And it was difficult! Especially in my Jeep Grand Cherokee with a Budget Boost. Luckily I was able to get with only scratches on the Jeep! I had more close calls than I wanted but it makes for some good memories! I know my fan is. loud haha I need to fix that this weekend! If you like the video please share with your friends!

Good ole pinstriping, definitely take the rear sway bar off, you'll benefit from it and it's not really any different on roads either. Just a friendly tip if you do start to roll, keep your hands and arms inside the jeep lol. Don't wanna lose a hand/fingers/limb

Yea some pinstripping 😂 did I have my hand out I didn’t even notice🤦‍♀️ that is dangerous!

@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventuresit’s actually normal and fine to have your shock be the limiting factor for downtravel, that’s how the factory suspension is limited. And I agree with you about the rear swaybar not doing much to hinder flex since it’s the size of a pencil, just take the front off

@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures well apparently the Chrysler engineers disagree, what else do you think holds the axle up when the car is sitting on a shop lift. Think about it, when you go to install a lift and need to get your springs out the first thing you do is disconnect the shocks and sway bar to let the axle droop. A quick and easy way to get more flex out of an otherwise stock jeep is to throw on longer shocks and spacers. And the front sway bar is about 3 times thicker than the rear, making it about 3 times as restrictive, it makes a huge difference.

@Land and Lore Photograph Off Road Adventures That’s great you have an engineering degree but apparently it didn’t help you here. So we agree now, as you just said, that on a hoist shocks limit down travel on factory suspension, so that would also mean that same method of limiting is coming into play ever time you go off roading and flex the suspension out. Limiting straps could be used for a whole list of custom applications but they’re generally used to prevent springs from popping out caused by (I’m about to say it again) having shocks that are too long, brake lines that are too short, or to limit stress on control arm joints in extreme flex scenarios just to name a few uses.

FYI, we ran that yesterday, it looks nothing like that now. WAY more difficult and rutted out. It is a black diamond trail for everything but motorcycles. With the condition it is in now it would be a challenge even on a bike. We were on 3 wheels at least 20 times and 2 wheels probably 8-10. 08 Tacoma 2 inch lift Goodyear wranglers 33's. That was going down, I don't think we could go up.

Really? I don’t know how I made it down with a budget boost and 31s😂 sketchy for sure!

We just did that trail going up in a stock Jeep Wrangler. It was gnarly to say the least

I think you were misinterpreting that sign. The "more difficult" blue rating was for motorcycles. Everything else was rated black.

WHAT?!?!? I thought for sure you were going to tip over on that trail. Are you going to be able to buff out all the scratches?

Me too 😂 didn’t realize how it looked from the outside but on the inside the Jeep I felt it about to tip over haha

      Yes sway bars connected

Najar Entertainment I took my rear completely off when I had my budget boost a few years back .....to me it rides so much better without it on and offroad then I never realized how much better offroad it would be with quick disconnects up front . I probably got another 4 or 5 inches of movement up front but that’s here recently on my 4 inch short arm lift with 6 inch lift shocks
