- This piece is from “My Ladye Nevells Booke of Virginal Music “ 1591 by William Byrd.
This unusual octave harpsichord is copied from a 1543 instrument by Dominicus Pisaurensis, which is on display at the Musee de la Musique in Paris. There is a second original octave harpsichord, by the same maker, from 1546 at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
This instrument was built by my husband, Donald Rogers in 2023.

Wow ❤
Your husband built that instrument? Wow! The piece is really cool, too.
Another piece of keyboard perfection from William Byrd. Thank you, Linda!
Thanks for listening
Thank you so much!
Very nice!
Thank you
Really well done harder than it looks to play it so well
Thanks so much for listening. I found it more challenging than expected at first. Thank you for the comment.
very nice! I'm curious about the other instruments. Is that a clavichord or virginal on the right? and what type of organ is that behind you?
Thank you for listening and commenting. The instrument on the right is a quint Virginal being built right now. It is a copy of a Ruckers Flemish virginal. The pipe organ is loosely based on the oldest playable organ in Sion Switzerland. My husband, Donald Rogers has built all of my instruments. You can see and hear them all on my CZcams channel. ❤
