Your artistic form of expression throughout the interviews is rare and beautiful. However, the counseling that you offer is such a gift. Helping people to communicate and process through traumas and chapters in their life is such a gift.💕✝️✌🏼

I lost my mom on June...I cry every morning in the shower...she passed away with complications because of her cancer. I took care of her and watched her slip away slowly. She was 67...I'm 43 and I feel like a lost 10 year old who hasn't figured out what to do. I miss her so much.

My dad passed last year, cancer got him. It is tough, in the moment it feels insurmountable. But it gets better. Pragmatism is a key part in many of life's avenues. You win and lose. But whatever happens, it's important to remember that your life is on a clock too. It is a comforting thought, that people who pass before you; you will eventually join. The years pass quicker than we anticipate, too fast for wasting time worrying and being scared. Life doesn't pause and those who live now and eventually pass on; want you to move on with your life and succeed - until it's your time. And so the circle continues.

I don’t know if this will help anyone but I wanted to share. My grandmother was the person who loved me the most. She broke her hip and when I arrived at the hospital, it was like she was waiting for me. I had my family with me, my children were young so we had to leave. I received phone call 10 minutes later and she had passed away. I cried a lot. When we left the burial, my son said look mom, the clouds formed a cross. I just sensed at that moment God telling me to live my life to show respect for my grandmother’s Godly ways. And I have to show the love she has shown me growing up. I’m not perfect but I love others and try not to judge others. It’s a shame there’s no companies/ industry in these poor states. With all the taxes we send to DC, they need to get off their ass and do something! I hope this young girl can get better. Her children need her so much. ❤️

@Makeup Minion she chooses drugs to bury her trauma. Ever been raped as a child? Those wounds are deep, their cut into your soul. Ever sit in front of a therapist who truly has never dealt with that kind of trauma except for listening to others or learning how to treat it from others who have never been abused? No? I never choose anything over my children to be honest my kids saved life. But I had my own addictions at 19-20 with alchohol and prescribed meds. All because my abuser/trafficker found my phone number, and reached out to me. I was lucky he wasn't a family member. This woman has to live knowing hers is family. She needs someone who has faced the same trauma and to see they can walk out of the other side. I finally at the age of 43 am now becoming vocal on the horrors I faced.. not everyone is strong enough to face their demons head on. I’m so sorry. Grief is indescribably difficult to live through. I lost my sister to suicide 20 years ago and it’s only recently that I have heard a fitting description of what real loss feels like: bleeding that never stops.
There are certain losses I never want to endure. I come from a devout Catholic family that believes God only takes us after he determines that we have suffered enough.
But I believe assisted suicide should be made available to those with major depression and everyone who wants access to it. No one should have to endure the psychological pain of living through the losses of all the people they love the most.
Anyway, I digress, but my mind has eroded away over the last few years. I am sorry for your losses and I hope you find peace.

She was not a horrible mother, never did anything bad that I can recall, but I felt no closeness to the woman no connection whatsoever. I helped to support her financially; so I did not hate the woman, but I just simply did not miss her when she died. Maybe I need to explore why I feel no connection to either my mother or father. Chelsey,
I hope you are able to read this. I lost my father, who was my Bestie in 2013 but I was 53. (my son lost his father to brain cancer 2 years ago at age 28 - my X husband, whom I remained friends with for the sake of our son). The loss was awful to go through, but when someone young loses their Mom or Dad, it is worse than what I went through at age 53.
My Dad, no matter what age I was...would show up with a plant, a balloon and a card on all the holidays and birthdays (my Dad was a HUGE gardener). The plant I miss the most is the Easter lily plant that he would show up with on Easter Day. In the beginning, Father's Day was so painful for me, his birthday second to that.
About 5 years ago, I decided that in memory of my father...I would buy another father a gift and give it to them and relate my story of why I was randomly giving them a gift. I'm telling you, I get such a kick out of finding someone new to be the person that I am shopping for. And it doesn't have to be anything expense. Maybe you can make a goal like this, IN HONOR OF YOUR MOTHER AND MOTHER'S DAY...to pay it forward and buy someone in need a little something. ☺ You will get there, Chelsey...with some good talk therapy and the time that heals wounds. ♥

What happened to her from her grand father, was no fault of hers. I would love to see her get off the drugs, and get grief counseling and counseling for the child trauma, and go back to school or get into nursing where, she could take care of her children and support them. I have been following your work for a while and it truly is Art. The photographs are mesmerizing. I do have one critique though... the one thing that people in pain DON’T want to hear from an outsider is “ I’m sorry” I would work on a more delicate empathy and say things like “ you didn’t deserve that” or “ I can’t imagine your pain”
You’re a great man for giving these tortured souls a voice though. I guess I shouldn’t judge your tone and words because it takes a strong person to hear these horrific tales. Kind of like doctors who feel like “ I don’t have time to express sadness, I have to focus and do what I can the most logical way possible” I am just a softy so probably couldn’t handle it... Hats off to you, I know I couldn’t have the strength to do what you do. 💔👏🏼

Mark, I love the slight smile you captured in Chelsey's still photo, she still has hope.
I pray she has found some peace since this time in her life.

I can't imagine the loss of my Mom. We didn't speak for a year over her making stupid accusations saying I was on drugs when I met her to have lunch for my birthday. Also the man who molested me was there and I was very uncomfortable and wanted to leave as I was going to bury a butter knife into his orbital bone.
Instead I walked out and threw my triple triple and it blew up on the side of the coffee shop. We just started talking again but I did miss her that year. Was nice ti see her a year later to the day. Defnitely went a lot better.

Your mom like mine never admitted what dad did to me from 3-5. She died so did dad but I forgive for me. Be honest tell her the truth. It's up to her to listen and get rid of that evil man. If she doesn't u can tell her when she admits it u can have a relationship. Otherwise it's a no. I did this was the hardest thing I ever did
When I confronted her she actually said well I c u finally got a spine. Oh my that was just like the biggest wake up call. I was over 500 pounds as I stuff my feelings. From that moment one I had no desire to overeat. Lost 350 pounds in one year have happy children and I'm doing great. Don't suffer. Be honest and true to yourself. U will feel awesome. Let me know how u r doing. I care. Take care

Sometimes the silences are what best express the pain. Thank you for giving her time to cry, to reflect and to speak.
