Really want to note that the v moda boompro DOES work for the 560s, if you buy a $12 adapter. Actually great combo. Inline volume controls and mic mute, combined with obviously killer sound for less than $200. @@JHaesthetics Found a used (but excellent condition) sticker modded HD 8xx on ebay for $599. Sticker modded, the 8xx is extremely close to an 800s. The soundstage, detail, and imaging are definitely better than the 560s and just insane in general. Gaming, music, movies, they sound amazing with everything. However, I'd only really consider them at a similar deal to the one I got them at (at least in my financial situation). The biggest upgrade IMO over the 560s is build quality and comfort. I don't know why but its so refreshing see a headphone/headset video coming from you, also thanks for unintentionally convincing me in getting a HD560s
Those Drop Epos (sennheiser) made me realize how much better I like open back. I ended up going with Epos H6Pro and returned the Drop PC38x, which is still great. I’d love to try more open back headset with built in mic. I just wish I could find one that is wireless.
Good review man! I think its actually a good thing for Corsair and other brands to be taking risks like consumer open backs and putting r&d into monitors and audio its how the space moves forward and doesnt stay stagnant
That corsair model is delicate. They paid more attention to ornamentation than to things that matter. The driver is also almost completely encapsulated so it doesn't matter that the back is open, it might as well be closed. Steelseries, Logitech and Corsair headsets don't have much longevity. Compare them to an average Beyerdynamic or Fostex - these things can last you 20 years. They have replaceable parts that are very sturdy. Corsair can have detachable cable, Beyerdynamic will still outlast it. People today don't even know this, but cables on these old, studio headphones can last 10 years. The sockets in your fancy, stylish new toy will break long before the wire on Beyers will.
I’ve tried probably 10 headphones >$150 for gaming in the past few years and the SHP9500 is still my go-to. They’re open back, ultra lightweight, cool and very comfortable, and you can drive them with anything, including the 3.5mm on your controller. They’re very flat so they’re perfect for hearing directional audio in FPS games.
@@ruovgaming yeah I’ve never understood wanting a gaming headset with a mic built-in unless you hate your friends and want to harass them with the lowest quality mic possible lol. The only downside to these headphones are the cables! Because they have a sleeve and rub against clothing, you always hear an annoying noise from the friction because the membrane is so thin. What impressed me most are the graphene drivers. I wouldn't have thought that Corsair would use technology from the professional audio sector. Nice review. Greetings from Germany.
He did a long time ago, based on the ranking he put in the video, he prefers all of the headphones listed over the Tygr. That ain’t to say it’s bad of course, since sound is very much subjective
