The project presented on this video, is among the most fantastic custom motorcycles I ever presented.
This BMW is so espectacular, that it is impossible to define it in just one word.
Although it looks very old, it was built from a 1980 BMW R100 RS.
This work of art, was built by Dirk Oehlerking, the owner of kingston custom, in Germany.
But when I said "work of art", I really meant it.
Because it was commissioned by Haas Moto Museum in Dallas.
I hope you like it.
Photos by Ben Ott.
My special thanks to Pedro Torres, for his great help with my English.
Here are some interesting links about this motorcycle/Builder:

The point 4 inches from the chest FREAKS ME OUT!!! idk guys. Looks VERY dangerous!!
But man! That is a GORGEOUS motorcycle!
thinking the same thing
Good thing its not meant to be ridden...museum piece :)
People, who build such bikes are simply artists... absolte great!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
I’m a gun engraver and I own a victory motorcycle because I could see in its line incomplete scrolls but in my minds eye I saw them complete. The bikes you show are a vivid inspiration for perfection. This is just stunning and I know where it came from, I have the same brain storms once in a while. It is from the soul or some other cosmic intuition. I believe I can feel it those bikes are beyond comprehension. Thank you.
Thank you my friend for sharing your very interesting perspective. :) Cheers.
@@RACER_TV The pleasure is all mine. I have looked at a number of your videos and I am always enthralled at what you and your appreciation of the incredible work done on some of them shows. Most of them I am enthralled to look at as works of art and a grace to the eye. I very much admire the creators of them and hold their skills and artistic flair in high admiration. Thank you for finding them and showing us.
This is an amazing piece of motorcycle art! The detailing is incredible - WOW.
It was commissioned by an art oriented museum in Dallas so is not meant to be a practical road-going machine. Faulting it is so easy if one only considers road going attributes rather than artistic elements. For instance, as others have mentioned, the front-top is rather too pointy for safety, the bottom edges of the fairing restrict lean angle and the sheer sides would provide an interesting experience in cross winds...
But remember that it is the answer to a challenge to produce an iteration to the museum’s ‘White Knight’ piece of mechanical art.
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
This is not a ride. This is a piece of art built for a museum.
Put it there and let it rest in peace.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!
This BMW is a work of art, not just a motorcycle! Unique in it’s lines, yet simple. The builder, rather artist, is to be congratulated for creating a look back in time. And, as always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café racers only choice! Best wishes to you and Merry Christmas this holiday season. Hope you are well and may the new year be prosperous! Ride safe my friend! Cheers!
Thank you my friend for all your kind words, and Happy New Year for you and Your Family. :) Cheers.
Simply art like you said.
My choice would be the white phantom.
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Bit more Georg Meier Type 255 Kompressor and less Captain Nemo's ride to the internet cafe hang with the hip trendy kool with a "K" dudes be my choice.
Proving that something can be both ugly and beautiful at the same time. This is truly a work of art. The blend of the gaudy bulk popular a few decades ago with such amazing lines, this is a vision few artists can achieve.
I've always loved the art deco theme, and have always tried to add it on a older motorcycle build. I like to see all the work that went into this build and really admire how he kept the weight down. And I've always tried to add my gauges to the tank which I find so cool. And the nice leather work. But to be honest I must say that is just doesn't flip my switches ! Sometimes you can just go a bit overboard. And I must admit I have done it myself. And stripped off hours of work after looking at what I have built.
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Racer TV...one of the things I really love in life. 👍 Merry Christmas!
Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
Intriguing and well executed concept. It reminds me of the motorbike of the golden age DC comic character “Vigilante”. I was in awe of that bike’s design as a kid. Back to the old future indeed!
Machines that are built not to be used make me kind of sad! They can only be fully appreciated when being used. Wonderful bike though! Merry Christmas and all the best for 2021 for everyone!
4AM Christmas morning and I'm watching RacerTV Merry Christmas, sir
Same sitch!
Thank you my friend for your support. :) Merry Christmas for you too. Cheers.
@@RACER_TV sir canyou please check your email - Robbie from Toronto
When I first see this I immediate thought this is made for a room. Because I had a room in my house with custom hand built motorcycles. I had 3 bikes. A 67 triumph 250 slammed cafe hog, Suzuki 78 185 bobber rat dirt bike, mini Yamaha chopper came from a Yamaha pull start turned into a kick start & a bicycle that was a sting ray put a chainsaw engine on it made the fork 2 feet longer made a tear drop tank paint white walls make my own apes. Had 2 engines on display all for a sitting room . My coffee table was a 6 ft coffee with crown trim with a day of dead female on lid. Walls white felt gold pinstripes wood finger floors with a motorcycle parts chandlear.. so seen this made me thank it was made to sit in a room to be looked at. When I seen it go down the road it was pathetically funny like putting motor & wheels on a recliner
Simply motivating, the way of presenting inspires me to enter this world! Years ago I stopped teaching to work with cars, another passion I have. Today I am reinventing myself and working with motorcycle customization! And I must say that the channel serves as motivation and inspiration! Thanks!!!
This could definitely be one of my favorites. But I say that about all your videos. Certified cafe racer since 79. Grew up in the Coachella valley, California where it goes 3 to 5 years 0 precipitation. And it's at sea level. What more could a bike or ask for. Through the mountain pass, the ocean is 2 hours away. Down the freeway, Los Angeles is 2 hours away. Or across the border, Mexico was 2 hours away.
I love it, its real art deco era, beautiful.
Amazing Bike! Amazing Video made with lots of passion! Thank you so much and happy holidays to you and all the other Enthusiasts
As a former owner of 5 old BMW boxers, I can appreciate this kind of build.
Great piece of art.
As well as your excellent choice of background music.
Can you tell me more about this heavenly sound?
It's as heavenly as this BMW.
Keep up the good work, with this channel.
Thank you for all the wonderful videos this year Victor! I'll be looking forward to next year's videos and I cannot wait for your XS build to come out, but until then stay safe out there in Portugal my brother and of course you and your family have a wonderful and merry Christmas and happy and safe New Year, thank you again my brother of RacerTV and I will see you here next year...
Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers, and Happy New Year for you too.
Kingston Custom did a really great job. Thanks Racer TV for the beautiful videos throughout the year. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And I look forward to 2021.
Thank you my friend for your kind comment, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
Thank you for great content this year! Wishing all the freedom of the open roads in 2021!
Thank you my friend for your kind comment, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
The most beautiful motorcycle, like mixed between cyberpunk and retro, Excellent
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
WoooooW , back to the future by Racer TV ! Incomparable retrospective self-moving paintings of modern "artists"! Enjoy the video and the sound of the exhaust 🤟
Indeed a work of art due to design and level of perfection. Merry Christmas and best wishes to you.
I like the idea of this channel is not only for Café Racers but for exceptional motorcycles, thanks for your time and happy and successful 2021 man
Thank you my friend for your support. :) Cheers.
It seems to me that the style of the bike is more Art Deco than Art Nouveau with a great resemblance to the 1937 Delahaye 135MS Roadster Figoni-Falaschi, for which in her time even Coco Chanel created a collection of clothing for its presentation in Paris. It also resembles the 1930 Henderson customized before WW2 by O. Ray Courtney, whom fitted the motorcycle in a ‘streamliner’ bodywork. I love art deco, I grew up in a neighborhood with many architectural examples of it and every day I went to school in a PCC “streamlined” tram. Everything on this motorcycle is perfect to the point of torture, because look if it is not the case that to remove the exquisite cover the cylinders have to be removed. It looks like something designed by an Italian and not by a German. "What is beautiful is beautiful" is a saying we use in Mexico. But, building a motorcycle for the sole purpose of being exhibited in a museum is not like seeing a butterfly on a display stuck to a pin? Frankly, I rader prefer to see them fly in the forests of Mexico in the annual migration of Monarch butterflies. The same thing happens to me with motorcycles. But don't get me wrong, the motorcycle is indeed a beautiful and magnificent work of art, it just saddens me to see it in a museum. Hopefully the owners of it take it out to the asphalt from time to time. Feliz Natal!
My dear friend, in hundreds of comments, you are the only person who found my mistake on this video. You are very perceptive. What I really wanted to say in the video, is Art Deco and not Art Nouveau. Unfortunately, it was already too late when I detected my mistake. Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective.
The art deco styling is quite ala Flash Gordon. This is a beautiful work of art, and is a stunning transformation. Happy Holidays to you and all that you hold dear!
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
Merry Christmas cafe racer. Thank you for this beauty
I absolutely love this motorcycle! Time to modify mine somehow. Inspiring!
"a special motorcycle for a special day". indeed. Thank you for allowing us to watch Racer TV.
Yum yum a beautiful trio doing exactly what they were designed to do.
Probably my favorite video on this channel so far 👍
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Unique, not practical yet it's refreshing to see a piece of art with such craftsmanship. Bravo!
From the kidney grill slats to the mono exhaust.....brilliant.
So many incredible details. Simply wonderful. Zum Niederknien... Danke Dirk!
Stunning machine... Merry Christmas to all too👍
Happy Christmas and thank for all your marvellous videos. This bike is amazing. I would love to see a bike with a front faring like this and a more traditional cafe racer rear end.
Love this video! !!!
Phantastic!
He got a bottle of wine. I hope it’s a right burgundy, for a sun- downer.
Best regards 🍀🍀🍀
A Wonderful Podcast Racer TV. Dirk must be saluted for his fabrication and engineering vision. Literally a Masterclass! Thank you.from the U.K.
Boas Festas.
Obrigado amigo. Fico contente que tenha gostado. :) Um abraço e Feliz Ano Novo.
One of the awaited motorcycle but now it is featured on your show
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
The content of this channel is absolutely amazing for any motorcycle enthusiast 🙏💪👍🏍
O melhor canal sobre cafe racer! Falo aqui do Brazil, parabéns
OH Vito! What else to say. It looks like a "Steam Punk" style. Inspired by a snowpierce (movie).
Dirk Oehlerking, as always, splendid. And generous Work of Art
Thank you my friend for all your kind words, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
You summed it up correctly. It's a work of art. Not necessarily practical. A metal toy horse to inspire. Merry Xmas!!
Not sure about the conversion, because I like the original RS quite much.
Just awesome.... Thank you
Love it - looks like it came straight from Fritz Lang's Metropolis. Attention to detail is super, like the front grille resembling that of BMW cars.
Have a great Xmas and a healthy and happy new year 👍🏻👍🏻🎅🏻
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
That's just ART
Incredible build! Merry Christmas to all at Racer TV, stay safe, and big thank you to the robot voice, he deserves a drink for a fantastic job!!!... 🤣👍🏻
That's really beautiful.
gracias amigo , feliz navidad y un mejor año nuevo !!!!
Thank you my friend for your kind comment, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Saludos..
Muito obrigado, seu canal é incrível e me inspirou na construção da minha caferacer 125cc, i hope to see you next week!!!
Classic train Streamliner meets steampunk. Interesting and impressive!
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
Wow !!!
It wouldn’t be amiss in the film Metropolis or even Flash Gordon.
Just outstandingly slick.
The flat twin motor they use is so iconic, such simplicity and longevity is rare. Those who say it is perfect have yet to crack a head because you leaned a little too far.
With all my respcet, for you and your Channel..... this is not what it is all about! Never mind ! all the best from Thomas out of Germany!
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. Yes, I understand what you said. But this motorcycles is so different so amazing, and so well made, that i think most people should see it, even if it is not a usable motorcycle. :) Cheers.
Merry Christmas, awesome video and yes you 100% correct its a work of art.
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
Fantastico video, Feliz Navidad.
Merry Christmas and thanks for these amazing videos all the years.
Thank you my friend for your support. :) Merry Christmas for you too. Cheers.
Probably the most expensive abat-jour of all times.
I guess that someone will like the kind.
Lool. Like i said, this bike was created for a Museum. Cheers.
Why is that a ''abat-jour'' ?
Feliz Natal ....amigo lusitano!! Realmente a máquina é bem diferente, uma pegada super diferenciada!! Uma obra de arte!!! Da até pena de andar....rsrsrs!! Acredito que o passeios foi maravilhoso!!! Grande abraço, super 2021!!!
Muito Obrigado amigo pelo simpático comentário. :) Um abraço, e Feliz Ano Novo.
The bike is amazing. Ideological thinking for the fuel tank was simply mind blowing. The compartment for glass and a bottle of wine is much needed when the bike runs out of fuel. So that you can spend some leisure time with the empty bike
Obrigado pelo presente de Natal! Fiquei sem palavras! A apresentação hoje ficou emocionante... audio incrível, máquina atemporal!
Excellent work, definitely art in iron, an excellent trilogy of bikes, now lets see them do one looking like a well beaten second world war fighter.
These vids are epic, please keep them coming
Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the video
Thank you my friend for your kind comment, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
Feliz Navidad!!
True piece of art 👍🏻
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. :) Cheers.
It look like a racehorse any green cloth looking like a great champion
I love this Wonderful bike
So majestic.
It looks like something from Terry Gilliams movie, Brazil! Preciously Speaking! All three of them!Just a state of mind.
No adjective can express them singularly!
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Gorgeous motorcycle indeed. Merry Christmas sir!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers,
and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
I will see this project in a future "Blake and Mortimer" comics... Fantastic design but may be, really difficult to drive 😉
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing. HAPPY NEW YEAR
Exceptional craftsmanship. But alas it looks HIDEOUS
Definitely a work of art; an art deco motorcycle. But the dust bin type front fairing seems very narrow and I wonder how it performs when doing u turns and other tight maneuvers?
Yes, as I said in the video, this is a motorcycle built for a Museum. Therefore, from this perspective, I think those riding limitations are excusable. But Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective. :) Cheers.
Merry Christmas Sir! And thank you for another exquisite video
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers, and Happy New Year for you too. :) Cheers.
Top video of the year
Merry Christmas!
Thank you my friend , and Happy New Year . :)
The future of bikes: objects of art - not power an speed only
I really appreciate the time and effort taken, but it does look terrible!
not to mention stopping/hitting something suddenly and being stabbed through the chest by it
Two wheeled street-sweeper
Opinions are like assholes.
@@claywebb8199 cute kids 😉
Not my cup of tea, but give the builder much props for building something by hand... Looks like a rolling toaster.
Streamlined Style Amazing ! What a finish !superb workmanship ! Like your videos my Friend 👍🏻♥️😎
What a beautiful bike , a real exercise in art
Beautiful motorcycle and beatiful video. Thank you my friend. Wish you excellent holidays. El solitario.

Outstanding motorcycle it looks like it comes directly from a Japanese anime. Great job.
