    Hi Kevin. I didn't know that to put in could be used that way. I only knew it when one is putting something " inside " something. Also, I' d like to ask uou if both "to set up "and " to build up " have the same sense of " to put up" and can be used the same way. Thank you.

    Hi Kevin! Could you please elaborate more on putting up the Christmas tree. If there's just a Christmas tree that you trying to install in the room (= you making the tree standing and not falling), is it still "putting up"? Or there's some other phrase? Asking because the couple on the picture holding ornaments in their hands :)

    Hi Kevin, I've heard people using put away rather than put up when they want to keep things in a specific place. For example: Please, Put your phone away. I'm going to put my clothes away. Is it right if I use put away in this way to express that? By the way I'll start using "put up" too. Thanks for the great lessons.

    I would like to know why native speakers say "show me it" or "I'll show you it"
    Text books say: Show it to me, I'll show it to you.

      As far as I know both forms are correct. It depends on where you put personal object pronouns. If you place them after verb you don't need preposition. Show me it vs show it to me, explain them vs explain it to them, give me vs give it to me etc.

      I think put away is when you put things back in their places: putting away dishes and cutlrey after they're washed in the dish washer

      I guess you’re thinking of keeping, put up & put away are the same thing in this situation, “to keep”
      Like I’ll put up my groceries or I’ll put away my groceries, however, like what Fredy Lopez said there are lots of usage for these 2 phrasal verbs, put up & put away. I hope my explanation helps. Tnx

      When it comes to the word “keep” u can also use “put up” like put away. Example. I’ll put up my groceries & I’ll put away my groceries in this situation the meaning is the same. There are lots of usage for these phrasal verbs. U can’t just use it in one situation. It’s a bit confusing but if u keep
      practicing. You will totally understand them. They are great teachers. The way how they teach us is just a piece of cake. In other words it’s easy to understand & absorb. Tnx

      Which one are u talking abt? Tnx. Phrasal verbs are a bit confusing coz u can use them a lot in different situations. I’ve been studying phrasal verbs for a long time but im still learning those usage that teacher Kevin just thought us. I watch phrasal verbs on CZcams as well as reading my own books but I guess im still behind in some areas coz they do have lots of meanings. One phrasal verb has lots of meaning that’s why I see your point, u are a bit disappointed. Tnx
      DEFINITIONS of “put up” - I guess there might be more
      -build a wall etc.
      -fix something to a wall/post
      -give money
      -let someone stay in your house
      -raise something
      -suggest someone for a position
      -increase the value of something
      -suggest something/someone
      -try to achieve/prevent something
