Hey there. I'm catching up on some of your older videos, and I'm always drawn to videos about Folio Society books. My goodness. The packaging of books from The Folio Society certainly has changed over the last 3 years. Nowadays, 100% of the packing material is recyclable. As you know, they now use slotted, accordion-style cushioning that is recyclable. It's wrapped and wrapped (and wrapped) around each book/books. The opaque wrapping around the slip cases and books themselves is also recyclable. I remove the Scotch tape/cello tape first and that gets thrown away. Thanks for this.
Regarding your books, I've always loved photographs of Native Americans. We vacationed in the Old West every summer and those photos bring back such good memories for me. On the Qur'an, frequently book pages are only gilded on the top, the thinking being that the gilding makes the book easier to clean/dust. Michelangelo considered himself, first and foremost, a sculptor and he accepted commissions for paintings only for the money. He also (illegally) performed autopsies (musculature, veins, bones, etc.) to inform his sketches and sculptures. The drawings of machinery tie to his reputation as an inventor. I know all of this because I read a really lengthy biography Michelangelo!
    Sorry for the LONG post.

I've been following foolish fish for a while and I always laughed out loud when I heard your name as one of his patrons, super funny name, I just subscribed to you and I'm looking forward to future content. Maybe one day I'll start making videos about my bookshelf. I'm jealously wanting many of your books but I'll have my own copy before too long.

Wow amazing books from the worlds finest. The Da Vinci notebooks are one of my grails I want for my collection by the Folio Society. Love their handcraft with no expense spared.

Yeah I'm quite fond of their work, just waiting to see something that peaks my interest again. The Hitchhiker's series did catch my eye though.

Are the Letters of Vincent Van Gogh primarily between him and Theo? For some reason I know Vincent kept up a rigorous correspondence with his brother, especially as his (Vincent's) mental health declined. That's a keeper.

How'd you manage to order the Easton Press books to South Korea? Their website won't even let me order them to the UK. 😭

Ah, where I work they have US mail boxes available to everyone. The mail goes overseas, but it's done by the US postal service.

Any chance you would sell your S.P.Q.R. copy? Can't find it anywhere and would pay more than retail price as Folio Society is out of stock now

Found your channel by searching for folio society books, any other companies you think make on par or better books for reading experience?

Honestly Anathema tends to make better books, but it really depends on the topic and what you're willing to put towards a book. Personally I'd recommend against Easton as they're typically mediocre for what you pay and will spam you for a while. What subjects are you looking for books on?
