@@maxpower247 Those are official stats from the Ontario .Scholastic .Basketball .Association Website.. I'm going to watch the finals in Toronto tomorrow.
She is 6'2 and dunking?! There are boys that are 6'5 (and probably taller out there) basketball players that can't even dunk. Hopefully she stays healthy throughout her career.
I like her. She's a world class athlete. Shared her highlights IG and she thanked me. She seems humble and grateful to get all the attention. Got to see her play on the Canadian Team and in The Nike Hoops Summit. She was one of the better players in both. She'll defend and rebound right away. Her shooting and post scoring are the only question marks but I can envision vast improvements in those areas from year to year.
The Nike Hoop Summit was my first time seeing a full game of her. She definitely stuck out. I remember in an interview she said she needed to work on her jump shooting. Having that kind of self awareness with her amount of talent is going to take her places.
Ive been saying it for years Toby is the best in the 2024 class! Only reason she gets disrespected in the rankings is she plays in Canada. Only players I'd consider taking over her are Sarah Strong and Joyce Edwards
She is humble and self aware. Her choice for Duke wasn't an easy decision for her but she listened to many people including her parents about the pros and cons for each college she looked at. Then made the choice that she felt was right for her. I think she made the right choice as so many were hoping she would commit to UConn. I think your vid was spot on. The only disappointing thing I keep hearing is that she's a man or transgender and this is just false. All I care about is seeing her game grow and improve. Hoping to see her dunk a few especially on home court.
I watched her in person yesterday, i think she was 8 for 12 from he field , about 13 or 14 rebounds and 4 or 5 blocked shots. What i noticed was her passion for the game, and yes the joy of winning the championship. Literally no one would drive the lane on her. The downside 6 for 15 free throws. Official numbers aren't posted yet.
FT % can be improved with practice, practice & coaching. C Clark made teams pay for fouling her. It’s a team sport. No three point shot. If Toby is supported by good perimeter shooters when doubled in the paint must be able to flick good passes out. C Clark had such a cast - K Martin, S Affolter, G Marshall, et al. Strength can be added with a couple years in the weight room with a proper regimen (coaching). Defense should not be overlooked. Points prevented because of intimidation, forcing bad shots and blocks count as much as baskets made in the final score by taking away. The winner is the team with the most points whether they score a hundred or only 60, as long as it is more.
Many guys at six two cannot do a reverse jam even Steph curry and Klay thomas at 6. 4. 6.6 Had problems. She should try high jump with that verticle spring. She would instantly be too three in the world.
Yea it’s crazy how all these other colleges will spend so much more money out to get top 10 players to recruit or top 50 players for that matter and Penn State men and women basketball team are lucky if they get a 94 to 100 ranked player just proves what schools support the basketball programs.
The very first play she was trying to posterize someone and missed, she's not there yet. This could change once she's older but right now she only dunks on fastbreaks.
Not top 3 because mid-range-to-3 shot is absent. Not that any coach would care. Plenty happy to take someone who can rebound, clean up underneath, and block shots.
Yep ... she's going to be a problem. I couldn't dunk (not as tall), but anyone that could out jump me could dunk. I noticed that dunkers just had an elite level of hops ... and I'm talking about men. Toby can dunk (not a height dunk). This is going to wreak havoc down low ... were the hops are not even close to hers, such that the finishes are way below the rim. I can see her getting double digit blocks in a game.
now geno needs to redruit a player at this level , ie , a "rim" above -------------- but he keeps recruiting 5'10" to 6'1" guards ----- omg i would get jazzed if he looked this 1 up and I mean UP but doubt if he even knows her !
WHAT! 6'2"! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE WNBA NEEDS. DHE NOT THE ANSWER, SHE'S JUST ONE OF THE PIECES. SHE'LL NEED ADVISORY'S JUST AS OR MORE SKILLED FEMALE PLAYERS, THEN YOU'LL HAVE THE MAGIC VS BIRD TICKET DRAW. 💯
criminal how low they ranked her...maybe they don't want to play up the fact that she can easily jump out of the gym as a woman. hands down, she can play ball. i would have liked to see her playing for south carolina.
Because the vertical leap isn’t the be all end all. Skill wise she’s nowhere near a lot of those girls. The height.length and athleticism is all there to make her into a great player but she will have to work on her game for her to be nearly as good as your saying. Personally I think she’ll be a very good defensive player and rebounder and a mid level scorer. Never really a go to scorer but great at getting trash buckets.
When she runs into people from other schools that are just as good, more physical and taller...it is a whole different story. HS you play against the same teams and players for years, there is little to no defense, and rarely any competition for a good player. All changes when you start meeting different people from different part of the US; that are just as good or better... a 5'11 defenseive player of the conference or of the year that will shut you down.. or a 6'5 - 6'8 center that will shut you down..a 6'1' extremely athletic will shut you down...
Crestwood Prep played 5 or 6 of the top 25 U.S. schools , they lost 1 game that was to Archbishop Nitty who are ranked #1 in the U.S. Toby had 21 points and 15 rebounds in that game. Crestwood if American would be ranked # 5 in the country.
Toby also played in the Under 19 F.I.B.A World Championship . She averaged 16.1 points and 13.7 rebounds, and yea, she was 17 years old. Picked one of the 5 best girls in the tourney.
Athletic freak for sure. Arms look longer than mine at 6'3". That jumper is straight trash though. Those arms and that jumper is probably why she played center. Reminds me of Zaire Smith.
Not a bust...but if she can't consistently make shots from at least the free-throw line, it's really going to hurt her game. Teams will simply lay off her and dare her to shoot.
@@alanfoster6589 I've watched a few games where she played, and her shooting is not as bad as this video suggests. Yes, there is definite room for improvement, and she seems to have diversified her game by showing some shooting instead of driving. Literally, she hasn't had to shoot much because she is so good at driving to the hoop. There is plenty of time for her to continue to improve that aspect of her game while in college.
i mean, its a fair comp. relatively. When you see just how fast she is off-ball and how she was flying all over the paint as well as smothering guard's on the perimeter during the 2023 nike hoop summit; it was just different and jarring. you just don't see women well over average female height move like that, at least not in team sports. Che doesn't fit cuz he is peerless in height and reach,, while she is just a big guard/3 or wing, who plays above the rim(at least on defense). but ultimately you are correct as we will never see a player like Alyssa Pili or Audi Crooks also have the traits ofa player like Fournier
She looks like most every woman that can dunk. A lot of men are the same way. You'd never know they could dunk until they dunk. It doesn't reflect in any other part of their game
PED's? Based on what? There are videos of her when she was 14 and she was tall and very slender, and she had a great vertical jump then. She's not muscular, so her body type doesn't suggest PED's at all. It's a ridiculous assumption.

I can hardly wait to see her play!!
Crazy how so many great players are in the Freshman class for next season. WBB is only getting better. Can't wait for the next season to begin.
I agree she looks impressive in the paint. Kiyomi McMiller as a guard with the best handles in WBB is going to be great to witness.
Toby Fournier is going to Duke. Looks like she will be playing against the Cavinder Twins at Miami.
Canada has a couple of really good ones coming in this season. Toby and Syla Swords. I think the rankings underrate both of them.
Agreed. Canada has put out some really good athletes and I don’t expect this year to be any different!
@@maxpower247 Agot Makeer , Toby's teammate is another one to watch.
Joyce Edwards and Sarah Strong are definitely the best two in that Class! Joyce Edwards will be incredible from the jump!

Joyce showed out in the Nike Hoops Summit last night. Strong unfortunately sat out due to a recent injury.
