I learned to drive on one of these. Great memories. I feel that Toyota responsive handling is underrated as the brand is perceived to be a soft and comfy. I believe the newest ones with the 2.0 liter are quite quick with 0-60s in the 7s.
Hmm, last one I checked was around 9s.
Mine is nearing 400,000 miles. Never a problem

This looks like the 2ZR-FE Engine 1.8L. The Hybrid is 2ZR-FXE
The gear limiter on the stick is great for locking the car out of a higher gear! As far as better handling than the Camry goes, I got a 2013 Hybrid XLE and it handles extremely well. I'm guessing youre conparing it to the 2010 you drove a while back?

Thank you! Very similar, overall. I do think the newer Corolla is quicker at higher speed, but this one is definitely better off the line, and at lower speeds.
1000% agree with you, i drive an 05 Corolla with the same vvti engine, even with just 4 gears my base auto outperforms a base auto 2008 civic anyday off the line, torque is amazing! I've allways had v6 japanese cars but this car is a freak!@@DMCarReviews
I got a S model for my wife but it my daily now lol
I got the 2010 model s . With 4 passenger this thing feel really slow going on the higway and sometime the abs say you on your own buddy when you need it
Even with 4 passengers, it's still faster than many cars in Europe.
