    That particular move has really helped me with my release. I have always had trouble hanging on to the club to try and get shaft lean.. What I really need is a harder, straight down the line, release.

    I stumbled upon this left wrist action recently - purely by accident - while I was hitting a few of the best drives that I have ever hit in my life. Sadly, I discounted it almost immediately and reverted back to my old flawed ways; because I thought I was "flipping." Thank you for clarifying so succinctly that what I was doing was actually a good thing. It almost felt like a was hitting 250 yard flop shots. EFFORTLESSLY!

    This is some super content and enlightening. When you watch professionals at an event in person, they all swing the club past their body into the finish. Now with this high speed camera and other technology, we can see the truth. I never knew the importance of swinging past my body, but this is eye opening. I only heard Tiger reference the move as "swing to post impact position" as being the most important part of ball striking. Now i know. Thank you Craig for showing this. I like "evidence based" teaching, you don't have to make it up on some golf "secret sauce" or "mystery move".

    I consume alot of videos.
    I think Craig has the best transition I’ve seen, weight moving forward right before the backswing ends.
    That lead wrist bending alittle, is that what squares the club?
    My height and weight is similar to Craig’s. Now if I could just swing like him….
    I’ll be in touch soon. 🤜

    I too was taught at Golf tec to keep my club pointing to the sky after impact, but went against everything I learned as well. The old way was toe up on backswing at hip high then toe up on follow through to waist high. Now it’s keep the face angle same as spine angle on backswing waist high. My release was like yours but was taught not to do that. But thanks for showing me that it’s ok to be rolling the left wrist and will be practicing those drill. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦

  • @seastorm5857
    @seastorm5857 Před rokem +1

    The first impression one has of the motion while looking at it from a standing in front perspective (in my case anyways) is that the trail forearm and wrist seems to be rolling.
    No wonder why I was pull hooking 100% of my shots the year before I quit golfing for 14 years out of frustration trying to imitate the same thing.
    Post impact and parallels to the ground, the club head was actually facing down about 75 degrees instead of up to the sky like in this video.
    I came back to golfing 2 years ago and invested in a CPGA personal instructor (I believe in one coach only) because I want to enjoy the game and I see great results now.
    This video really puts into light the proper feeling one should have of both wrist and I am sure it will really help my game go to the next level.
    I really enjoyed this video as I feel this is really a game changer video in my case and accompanied by the coaching I have received the last 2 years from the same instructor I believe I can bring my 16.5 handicap down to 10 or lower this coming summer as the last few sessions (indoor) have seen a tremendous improvement in ball striking.
    I did practice in my basement the motion to get the feeling and it feels totally different to what I am used to but I am positive it will bring my club head speed up a little and help my ball striking even more.
    Thank you for this revealing and very important video.

    Mr Hanson I are awesome as always. I cannot recommend folks watch this guy enough.
    I have a question I hope you can help me with.
    I have two daughters. One has a bit faster swing speed but hits it way further than her sister, more than the swing speed.
    I notice the longer one gets her spin in the low to mid 2000s but the shorter hitter is in the 3000s.
    We are doing everything to get her hitting up more and less dynamic loft and better contact spots but even when she does she still gets more spin than desired.
    So the question is if you believe moving weights forward on a driver will produce less spin. I heard someone from golf tech say that. He mentioned it makes the club less forgiving but I don’t think that would be an issue for her.
    What do you think ?
    Unfortunately they don’t have drivers with weights to move around. Or anything else.

    • @RK-ig5hy
      @RK-ig5hy Před rokem

      I'm not a clubfitter, but have been fit (fitted?) Several times. Moving weight forward was the idea behind the SLDR driver (which I owned) which was known for low spin and was not very forgiving. Due to that, one would typically have to buy it in a higher than usual loft. Contrast that with drivers that have weight further back-- they have high MOI, launch higher, and are more forgiving.
      My current driver launches a bit too high (epic max 10.5). A TXG fitter suggested I experiment with lead tape--1 or 2g at a time--placed toward the leading edge, at the bottom... though I imagine the effect would be more pronounced at the top, albeit less aesthetic.

    • @RK-ig5hy
      @RK-ig5hy Před rokem

      ... that said, the very best advice is to have her take lessons on a monitor and see a good fitter. A tweak in delivery conditions and/or equipment can make golf that much more fun. Good luck!

    I have a personal problem with this focus on the follow thru or how it is explained. From competing in tennis, pronating is a kind of snap of the wrist to add power to the forehand stroke. When applied to golf, using the wrist to add power requires us amateurs to have very good timing on the fast down swing. If I release lagging the head (to add compression) too soon, the head will hit fat on the ground before the ball.

    • @CraigHansonGolf
      @CraigHansonGolf  Před rokem +1

      10-12 depress of shaft Lean is the goal
      There will always be great timing in a good swing.
      There is unfortunately no easy way for less skilled golfers to hit consistent compressed golf shots.
      Thanks for posting Mike

  • @josephshawa
    @josephshawa Před rokem +1

    I like to simplify it a lot more than what you're trying to have people do into the finish. Focus on what you're doing before the ball impact and just be ready and comfortable with where it ends up. You're not doing anything out there. Just let it be.

    The amateur pictures you show at the beginning are very familiar. My swing looks like those. That left elbow working its way in and not extending like the pros. The problem is correcting it. For another video I suggest you go into exactly why that is. I have tried drills similar to what you have here but still the same swing on the course. I think the reason is there is a root cause of the problem. But that is not really the emphasis in this video. There is something more than rotating that lead left wrist needed to correct the problem. Otherwise I would have corrected it a long time ago. But what that root cause is that can be corrected so that the left arm is now able to extend rather than the left arm 'collapsing' and the elbow therefore working its way up and is the enigma I would like to solve! Thanks though for the video!

      If your a advanced Player you may like to try the feel as i mentioned in the video. Thanks for posting- totally confused in the comments when it’s clear what I mentioned!

    I hate it when all you teacher's say that "amateur's" can't do what Pro's do. There are literally millions of amateur's that can swing like Pro's.

      It’s just a title for tube don’t take it personally. The truth is there is around 30 million amateurs that can’t release properly.
      There are of course top amateurs that release great. But if you go around on CZcams being upset at the titles it will take you 20 years to reach everyone.
      Titles in CZcams or in a newspaper are there to create interest, controversy, surprise, it’s a title.
      Ig my title was - • Lots of amateurs realise great but there’s Millions of Amateurs that don’t release correctly?
      Nobody would click on. The video itself is evidence based and will help many amateurs. I’m sorry that the tithe offends you.

      @@CraigHansonGolf I don't know how you would know that 30 million amateur's can't release, but okay.
      It should be worded that MANY amateur's can't release like the Pro's.
      You are not the only guy that word's their videos like this and your wording insinuates that ALL amateur's can't release like the Pro's. A lot of guys also say that they have the magical SECRET and that's all BS too.
      Anything to get views.

      @@CamaroKidd2022 exactly it’s about getting views so you can reach more people. Improve your business.
      Ive experimented with lots of different titles. I reached 4,5 Million golfer’s last year. If I use like you suggest- Many amateurs can’t release like pros! - The entire video would flop big time.
      It’s a business! Each video costs lots of money to edit and heaps of time to make. The more views drives the video helping create revenue to cover those expenses. And to also help drive people to the business so you can make a living. So it’s actually possible be able to continue to make these videos.
      Yes it’s all about views. Good content and views. These tiles create interest. Controversy. Obviously. That’s what titles do. Newspapers have been doing it for 200 years. It’s the major part of the business.
      The reason I estimated 30 million golfers is I’ve filmed 45,000 amateur swings well over 90% can’t release the golf club effectively.
      So we have around 60 million golfers world wide.
      It’s actually many more than 30 million that unfortunately can’t release efficiently.

      @@CraigHansonGolf I understand exactly what you are saying about trying to get business, but I don't believe at all that it costs very much to edit a 5 or 10 minute video and it costs no money if you do it yourself.
      I don't see why saying "MOST amateurs", instead of NO amateur's would cause your video to flop. I won't subscribe or watch anymore videos of anyone's that isn't honest and doesn't tell it like it is.

    Why do you say Jack is the greatest player of all time? You could of said arguably the best More like myself believe Tiger is the best When Jack played there were was a much weaker field with only a few players that could beat him Tiger was the much better athlete and won more tournaments than Jack and if he would not gotten hurt so many times and had the big cheating scandal nobody knows how much more he would of won
