- We finally got around to making a little video going over some details of what it's like to own a tuned Mk8 Golf GTI Clubsport. This video isn't super in-depth, but it covers details that most people would want to know.
In the video we talk about some of the modifications done to the car, what it's like to drive, how it is as a daily, and most importantly, some revving and fly-by sound clips!
As I'm sure some people will ask, I will add a brief spec of the car below.

Man I got a mk6 gti and I dream of getting my mk8. Beautiful car bro 🙏🏽
Want a gti lol need to wait one more year for insurance lol. Have to stick with the polo 1.2 for now 🥲
Thanks mate really appreciate it!
Nice car dude. Love the mk8s ❤
Thanks mate appreciate it!
Whipp is looking sick 👌
Thanks mate 💪🏼
Do some pov drives that gti is a beauty 🔥🔥🔥
Really nice build considering how much these parts go for atm. Just had my mk8 gti staged with a Tcu map done
Thank you! Its not exactly been the cheapest of hobbies, but the car is so capable now its not even funny.
Great car love it. I got a same but in Kings Red with a pano roof. No mods so far, going for the looks cool over performance, each to there own. Question for you. The Maxton Design V2 Spoiler Cap looks great but I wondering does it stay on alright. I've seen its held in place by tape. Is there another option to bond the Spoiler Cap? Don't fancy it coming off or loose during driving.
Great job on the car, it looks great👌. Can i ask why you went for the GTI CS instead of the R? Cheers
Thanks, appreciate it! and the easy answer is its way way more fun to drive. The car feels more dynamic and you have to pedal it which makes a new car more interesting to drive.
Nice video great mods, do you have a downpipes and stock exhaust? Or do you also have a Milltek exhaust with the Milltek downpipe.
Thanks dude! It's a Milltek HJS catted downpipe, an anti-drone resonator delete and stock clubsport back box.
Nice car man,I just picked up a 23 GTI and waiting to get a bunch of mods like intake, downpipe, intercooler, exhaust, charge pipe. I went with Unitronic performance software stage 2 with DSG tune. I got a friend that’s been pretty negative about this build and says that shit can blow up lol. I guess my question is, what am I risking? And what can you suggest? My goal is to be at 420 to 450whp on pump gas
Cant say for sure because you guys have different fuel, but mine has been 100% reliable
I like that specific rear diffuser…who makes it?
How much power could I get through the 6MT before having to upgrade my clutch?
Must admit i love my golf r 7.5, but wouldn't say no to a clubsport either ❤
I need wheels like that for my Ed35
Do you still use the 0w20 or 0w30 being tuned and tracked? If so what brand
No we are using Millers 5w40 now
Hi can you let me know whats your suspension setup you have on your GTI?
Currently Area spec YSR coilovers and superpro RARB, as well as a full setup and corner weight
Thanks for the look no clubsport in usa
Lovely car mate, hanging onto those Raybans🤣
They have become part of my personality 🤣🤣
@@sprogleymotorsport Funny🤣 great vid though mate keep it up👌
What seat mounts are you running for the recaros?
We are using a Gosling Racing seat base kit which i believe is the same for the Mk7.
Any noticeable lag with the L500 compared to Stage 2?
Next to nothing, from stage 2 to stage 3 was a fantastic jump as far as how fast the car felt.
Have you installed the cooling upgrades yet?
Yes, now has the auxillary cooler upgrade and oil cooler, they seem to be working great.
I want those buckets
They're lovely mate, one of the best seats out there
I wish I could do some performance mods and not void my warranty 😪. I have a 40th anniversary GTI
The engine and Dual clutch transmission is strong, send it. If something fails and it’s not directly related to tuning it will still be warranty. As far as the mods, a few bolt ons are always reversible if needed.
Wont be too much longer before the warranty runs out right?
Get some nugget stickers made!

On the black alloys it looks definitely worst
Good job we also have a silver set as road wheels! 😁
A bit like your grammar
It’s an automatic. My sister could drive it lol
My sister can drive it too so we are almost twins 👊
tuning golf and brooken sunglass noob
Cant afford new sun glasses, spent all my spare change on the car ://

What power would you say the power sweet spot is for a daily driven MK8 CS that will be tracked now and again?
Power wise even at 520hp its still just as drivable because its been mapped very well. When it was stage 2 450hp and still on the Littco TCU, it literally drove just like a stock car, just with more go. That would be ideal for some people, but how it is now with the hybrid turbo and TVS TCU tune giving us the extra RPM limit, proper manual mode etc, its far more interesting to drive. The chassis handles 500hp like its nothing on track too, and still perfectly safe as long as you keep an eye on temps and change the crappy OEM oil out for some good stuff like millers or Motul 300v like what we use.
