The "coworker" who managed to do the Goofy laugh with a straight face deserves an Emmy for that alone
nah there had to have been like 30 takes of that before he got it right lolol
I must’ve watched that clip 20x’s 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
right! he made the episode for me
8
Bruh,A GOOFY movie is legitimately a Hood DVD Classic. This is why Atlanta is one of the most Uniquely written Shows I've ever seen.
Yeah there are some very highly viewed CZcams videos that say just that
czcams.com/video/bpDJeRnLS2U/video.html
Absolutely
Oh yeah. It was a classic.
DVD? Shit I had the goofy movie on vhs back in the day!
I wasn't expecting Atlanta to do an episode about A Goofy Movie, but that's why it's one of my favorite shows of all time. It's so unpredictable.
This episode was a trip. I knew it was a mockumentary, but a lot of it was really convincing! I had to keep reminding myself it was fake 😅
One of the best Mockumentaries I've ever seen. You can definitely trick someone into thinking this really happened if they aren't familiar with Atlanta lol.
My bro for over ten years told me it was real till I saw it lol how idk lol
I'm so glad you guys are covering this masterpiece of a show.
Exactly. People need to watch this entire show. I still don’t know what I’m gonna do when it’s over…. But this is the epitome of great television.
@@matthewanderson3506 it's an absolute tragedy that it's ending and there are just not enough people watching this brilliance.
Honestly the goofy laugh is when I realized it wasn't real 😂😭
Same 😭😭
That scene had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Unfortunately I didn't know until well after the episode was over. The only thing that had me question it was the way the wife was acting. Everything else I completely got duped by 😂.
For me was the short comics "Goofy, please"
My roommate didn’t know what I was watching and thought it was real until that moment he went “what the F**k?”
I had to tell him at that point
Atlanta just said what black folks been thinking
A damn shame that Donald Glover trolled the hell outta me making it seem like Thomas Washington was real 💀 shoulda known, it was on B.A.N.😂
I gotta hear y'alls opinion on the season 4 episode "Work Ethic!"
I was an animation major and I had to tell folks this is what they showed us these documentaries about Disney animators. This made me smile and piss myself laughing at the In betweener reference lol 😂
Definitely played on the book
The spook who sat by the door
Which is why I love this shows creativity
I knew Korey and Leon were gonna be laughing their asses off the whole damn episode. 🤣
Call that man by his government name
@@avgnfandon2 That's just how us old school SPILL fans know him by... 🤷♂️
@@OddOneOut665 I’m a refugee from spill too but imma put some respeck on his name
They deserve an Emmy for this episode✨
I mean goofy really was basically a black single dad. Plus the movie some amazing moments. The music, dancing, Roxanne making people feel things, and the heart felt emotions. It is a classic movie.
The Mr. chocolate episode had me dying. He spoofed the hell out of Tyler perry & his studio😂
“We’ll fix it in post!”
“Where is my daughter, I want my daughter back”, Mr. Chocolate”……………………..No.🤣
….👀…..”oh hellur”
Crack sand which
(Throws grits at Mr.Chocolate) AhhhHHHhhhh i'm Fine😂😂😂
I've lived in Atlanta my entire adult life. All of what you see is legitimate. Exaggerated of course, but true.
Paper Boi was the Goof who sat by the door in the Paris episode.
That literally just clicked for me
This episode deserves Multiple Views, there are a lot of things in it that are True and honestly I believe it's more than people are recognizing.... 💯 Also he Didn't go Crazy, He was Killed when he didn't accept the $75million Buyout, His Death Was their Endgame!!! RIP Thomas Ronald Washington 🙏🏽🤣🤣🤣
Donald is a genius and true ATLien. The fact that Thomas went to SCAD…. Savannah College of Art & Design, a prestigious art school is easily overlooked if you are not from here. Us slaves-I mean students changed the acronym meaning to “Sleep Comes After Death” 😂 I know all my fellow alumni and animator friends knew exactly what kind of documentary this was going to be from the jump lol. Thank you for reviewing this! I’m pretty sure Oz is referring to episode 3. Would love for you guys to review that one next!
Yeah being a huge Gambino fan who lived in Savannah that was awesome. Used to skate downtown Savannah and scad jamming Gambino
Wait till they made a mockumentary about a black dude who was going to direct a Space Jam movie 😂
My favorite part was when they showed where he drove off the lake and it shows his big goofy shoes in the water , I was weak af
Washington originally wanted A Goofy Movie to include a scene where Goofy and Max wind up in a thrift store and they discover Huey P. Newton's retained chair. I lost it! 😂 🤣 😂
This took me out 😂😂😂😂😂
@@JaylaPLuna And as soon as I heard that his new security had "suits and bowties" I literally spit out my water. 🤣 😂 😂 Definitely a Top 10 Atlanta episode already.
@@Paranormal718man shit had me cryin. then he made the connection that white disney people saw that as fake as bigfoot 😭
So hype y’all did this, i know ppl have there opinions on this season of ATLANTA but they been knocking these episodes out of the park. Growing up on a Goofy Movie this really hit home, give them all the Emmy’s for this one!
The episode is right up there with teddy perkins
Goofy movie is legendary
Probably my favorite of the season and maybe even the show with how well donald balanced the psuedo drama, commentary, and funny ass moments. Some of their strongest work especially from a production and rights stand point. RIP Thomas Ronald Washington
Bruh this episode was incredible
Guys, thank you so much for reviewing this. Korey, I know you be concerned about views and whatnot so I appreciate you doing this despite that!
That was one of the BEST episodes of the season that didnt include the main cast. a lot of those were in the season before. i knew it was a mockumentary but i found myself having the urge to look up the co-workers names hahahahaa. The name of the show was based on a book turned in to a movie "The Spook Who Say by the Door" the Documentary based on the movie was even more entertaining on how they pulled off getting the movie out without Executives knowing the book, which was about a black revolution and overthrowing the country.
After I watched this episode of Atlanta, I turned on Disney+ and watched A Goofy Movie again.
People really slept on these last 2 seasons and its a shame bc its been so entertaining and unpredictable
Because Europe pulled away from the group. No one cared about those side stories. Everyone wanted to see what the main group was up too
@@MM-hf6om i don't understand how that's a bad thing.
I understand why people who watched the beginning and waited years in between seasons didn’t appreciate it at first.
As someone who got to binge the show the show I was able to remain detached and just appreciate what I got.
Those first 2 seasons being solely with the main cast (who are all great) made it frustrating for the OG fans.
Top 5 episodes of Atlanta. The fucking layers here. Incredible art.
It’s amazing. This entire final season is great!
Plus when you consider how Goofys origin of originally being meant to be a caricature of Black men at the time, it adds a whole new true layer. Even on top of that, looking at how Tom’s story closes mirrors Donald’s when it came to making Atlanta is crazy
You left out one important scene, but I understand why. Being that this was a lighthearted conversation, it probably would’ve been out of place to discuss when they talked about Goofy and Pluto. That was extremely important.
THANK YOU for putting some light on this because us few black people covering Atlanta don't have the reach you do.
honestly, people can say what they want about the show as a whole, but like, this is seriously one of the best episodes in television history.
The crutches guy is what broke the illusion
They had me from start to finish. Even when they showed the photo of the Goofy shoes and glove pulled from the lake 🤣
A goof who sat by the door, spin off of “The Spook Who Sat By the Window” movie
I’m so sad that they’re ending on this season. They could keep going with how sporadic the episodes are! It was fun while it lasted!
When he went in about not being able to ride your bike outside, I lost it! 😂😭 This show is so good and so underrated. I’m always excited for the next episode.
Did you see the last episode?
@@kameronwright9925 I did! It was bitter sweet that it was the last one but I do like the way they ended the episode. Judging 👀 by how it was going, I figured they would do that at the end.
This video had me dying from laughter. I need to watch "Atlanta" one day! 🤣
Also, that transition caught me off guard! 😅
One of the most convincing mockumentaries.
I knew about the reference because of Nipsey Hussle, and saw the movie a few years ago but never read the book.
This episode was brilliant, up there with Documentary Now! with the verisimilitude.
They weaved in and out of real history to subtext to humor and back so skillfully and subtley, so utilizing Analysis of the Goof and the industry's relation to minstrel was a stroke of genius imo
and to have Thomas be loosely based on real black animators like Floyd Norman was also a brilliant stroke.
Easily top three Atlanta episodes imo
That part with the cheese had me in stitches.
You get a like just for the use of the word “verisimilitude”
They had me convinced it was real...
Same!
7:11 dubbing
7:27 oh man!
15:34 Goofy laugh insert
The fact that they played it so straight was what made it hilarious 😂😂😂
they should make the Goofy movie written by Donald Glover, Produced by Jordan Peeple Directed by Ryan C and starring Dave Chapelle
I 👏🏿loved 👏🏿this 👏🏿 episode!!!
It’s so layered and there are so many nuances that I’m pretty sure a lot of people especially Black people didn’t realize about the Goofy movie and why we gravitated to it. I remember being in elementary school and they definitely showed that movie to us numerous times on Fridays. This was the best episode of season four so far if there’s anything to pinpoint out of season 4 it will definitely be this episode in my opinion.
Also, did anyone catch the Easter egg or the subtle jab in his name it was Thomas, Reagan, Washington?
As in Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan, George Washington ?
Maybe it was a coincidence but I definitely noticed it
Listen to the Goof troop theme song.
There needs to be a short fan animation of that father son talk between Furious and Tre from Boyz In The Hood but they "goof" up the dialog
Gimme the gun Maxie!
@@chuckielover06 I meant the one where they're at the beach but that works too
Awww I was waiting on ya to cover this, was thinking about you three when I watched this, and ya coveting a Goofy movie
I liked this episode! So outta left field but fits this season of ATL so well
@5:23 I'm IN the episode and even I was like "IS THIS REAL?!" 🤔 Let me go Google it!! 🤣
I started catching on after they said where he died, and especially when it said “In memory of” at the start( I did miss the first 15 minutes as my girlfriend was watching it when I came in, and goofy is my favorite movie)
ATLANTAS the best show on tv! every episode is thought provoking 💯
I'm pissed because Atlanta is on Disney + in the UK and they release it 3 or 4 months after the seasons air in the in the USA. I just love the show because it genius Black dark comedy. And I love when show goes crazy.
This show gets weirder and better.
*Bruh that picture of him sittin on top of the boardroom desk, giving the the peace sign ✌️lol*
Oh man I was wondering if you guys where going to cover this eps of Atlanta 😊
So it's a mockumentary like spinal tap
Atlanta killed it with their episode! 😂
I thought I misclicked on Hulu and had to double check what I was watching
This episode was so good.
Atlanta once again teaching us our history.
Of course they cover this episode of ALL Atlanta episodes so far this season smfh
I never really followed the backstory of the actual production of a goofy movie and only watched it as a young kid, so until i looked it up i legitimately thought that episode was factual lmao
This was one of the greatest things ever made so happy you guys got to watch it
Just saw this today, as not being american they almost had me, i was watching like “oooow I never knew disney had a black ceo”😩. I loved this episode, really felt that! growing up I loved to skate wasn’t cool bck thn as a black kid to do while listening to blink 182 & linking park, so my brothers loved to call me white for that, but thn seeing guys like kareem campbell make skateboarding cool for black people by inserting Our culture into it really changed how other blacks started to look at skateboarding birthing a whole new generation. This episode was a homerun, season 4 is really taking the bad taste from season 3 away AND doing even more.
I was waiting for you guys to discuss this episode.
Same lol
I.was hoping for this review!!
I didn’t realize this was based on the Martin Thomas story😅
Pretty soon they'll have a dragonball episode
12:54 Fantastic Chris impression! 😂
Atlanta one the best American tv 📺 of all time.
This and the Tyler Perry episode have been my favorite this season.
I love a goofy movie growing up
I love this episode, I love Atlanta. The line about Goofy black, was actually said by the animator. I thought it was real, cause in 1991 I was outside. When the riots happen, that all on the news, so I thought it was real, cause shit do happen like that. A lot of black kids who watch the Goofy movie, felt like it was black movie. I mean Max was dressed "Hip Hop" and Powerline was Bobby Brown...
This was great
I had no idea people saw goofy as a black character, that's really interesting. As a kid, I was too stuck on whether he was a dog or if goofs were a whole other species. If dog, then why Pluto? If goof, what are Mickey and Donald when we know regular animals exist?!
This is just as good as any Documentary Now episode or Christopher Guest movie. Brilliant.
Hilarious episode
There several neat essays on a Goofy movie, my favorite might be Toonerefic Tariq's essay
Atlanta is special. Every season.
One of the best episodes of the season.
Goofy is clearly based off of the Jim Crow and Zip Coon Dandy characters
Who ordered the white rice?
Great vid.
This episode might be my favorite piece of television of all time.
Does this mean we'll get A Goofy Movie 4k release in February?
Top 3 episode
It is also a play on the book, The Spook Who Sat By The Door
The lost forgotten goofy movie.
Yeah, so I didn't know this was a mockumentary. You can laugh at me. The title didn't tip my hand at all. This episode is so perfect in reflection with pretty much everything. **keep growing**
Goofy movie & Mulan were my favorite Disney movies growing up. Nothing was a close 3rd
They really got me, I was like how was this pushed under the rug lmfao
Max could dance, Goofy’s neighbors hated him and Maxs crush had a fatty of course they were black. Seriously tho I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 12 legit thought max was hood too.
They were in the suburbs
Man this explains why my cousin me loved this movie so much growing up!! 🤣😂🤣
4:11
LMAO!!!! 🤣
