Chivalry 2 Crossbow Gameplay - Wardenglade is the Best Archer Map

- Today's Chivalry 2 gameplay video features the Crossbow in action during a round at Wardenglade. I typically go archer when it comes to Wardenglade because it's too easy to get surrounded by enemies on this map, since it's one big open field with a few rolling hills.
In the Chivalry 2 open beta, I found myself enjoying the Crossbow far more than I was enjoying the Longbow and Javelins. I think a big part of it is that the latter two weapons don't sound satisfying, and the CRACK of the Crossbow feeling fired gives it a sense of power that the other two weapons are lacking. Also, it's easier to aim.

I love watching your videos you are a beast at melee. Even as an archer you almost did more damage to the enemy team in melee lmao XD
I feel like playing ranged units will be my go to (heresy I know). The idea of sitting in back and being able to see all of the developments on the battlefield just feels like a relaxing time. Plus it seems the sidearms actually allow you to defend yourself pretty decently.
That's how it is with me and Mordhau.
I hope they add a heavy crossbow like in the first game and a chineese repeating crossbow would be cool too.
I don't anticipate Eastern style weapons at least for a while.
Well, you need practice with this, but the crossbow and the bows are fun to use. The fact that T (takedowns) are included in scoring points to the importance of archery to soften up the opposition for your team to finished them off. I don't get as many kills as I do with melee, but I get a whole lot of takedowns.

Noticed on console, that there is a slight autoaim using ranged. I use crossbow class. Have fully lvled longbowman

being crossbowman is the hardest class for me. It's hard for me to kill anyone using crossbow
I have this on console, just started playing. Mostly archer class. I get tons of hits, but not tons of kills.😔
I main archer as well it’s so fun! I’d recommend using longbow up close and stay mobile that’s what I do I usually average about 20 kills a game and about 7 deaths!
I love the crossbow/ short sword combo.... takes a bit to reload but those 97 chunks lead to alot of takedowns.... even better when I mained longsword for a while before I touched archer so the people that rush me aren't prepared for the beat down they're running themselves into

I'm just wondering, is it like a team deathmatch kind a thing? or is it real objectives around the castle which 2 teams have to accomplish to win? i'd like to see real objectives to take over a castle or something like that

Shuffle probably means changing subclasses random means you get a random class and subclass

The attacks you say should hit seriously actually miss. Like the very first stab of the video. In Mordhau that would hit for sure. Hitboxes seem much better in Chivalry 2

The stab went right behind him, I just rewatched it. That image was from after the miss and dragging to the left once the attack hurtbox was done and on the return animation lol
I don’t mean that as discrediting you or anything. I love your content and watch all your vids it’s just if it that were to count as a hit it would be as janky as Mordhau and people would just crank up their sensitivity so they can be sweaty
You're good! I just wouldn't call it a miss when my sword phases through his shoulder, it was just the game not deciding it was a hit, you know? lol

Crossbow is easier to use and stronger so you see more people using it. I prefer the warbow
