Farther north up Onslow Beach is where we had our live Fire-Xs with HAWK missiles. I take it he'll be getting those blood stripes (walking the gauntlet) back at the head shed. I had 20+ NCOs "welcome" me to the NCO ranks. It was brutal.
@@Democratic_Industrialism glad to hear from you Marine. One of my close friends from home (Charleston, West Virginia) we were stationed on Okinawa at the same time. He was assigned with the 4th Marines at Camp Hansen. Are the 4th Marines still at Camp Hansen? Stay safe Marine and Semper Fi from an old Marine Sgt...OUT
@@petekosar8379 BTW I served from 5 Oct 73 to 4 Oct 77. 3rd Bn Parris Island, then on to Camp LeJeune, on to Camp Foster Okinawa and back to Camp LeJeune. When and where did you serve?
I still have the scars. That collar sits right on your clavicle. Though I appreciate the symbolism of dressing the young NCO with a "blood stripe" the -tears- sweat in my eyes was not emotional.
And almost the whole time I'm sitting here watching the dude in the background staring out at the sea contemplating life. Congrats on the promotion.
Raaaaah, Semper Fi Devil. Congratulations. Lead by example and above all else stay disciplined.
God bless you all !
