My coworker, a locksmith died this morning from Covid. I can relate to this story. Thank you Bill & LPL for all the great laughter and knowledge you gave to the locksport community.
Bill was instrumental in my now twenty-year long learning curve. A CZcams lockpicking legend, he will be missed and remembered but most of all respected and appreciated for his skills, his generosity and humour, and now for making a hard but wise decision. You have picked your way into many a heart. Thank you, Bill: we appreciate you. Salutations and well-wishes!

I came across Bosnian bills name by chance. Now I have 1000s of videos to watch now over the summer break. It’s a shame I came to the party late, but all the best to him and his family.
14 years, we've had him for a long long time, but all good things must come to an end. Imo he was among the best at helping people get into the community, having some excellent videos to help any novice picker. Can't blame him for wanting to spend time with his family. When this landed on my feed, (27th September 2021) I was seriously ill with covid, in fact it really did very nearly kill me. As a result, my wee thank u to Bill, and to LPL (because it was LPL who introduced me to Bill's channel, without him, I may never have found it) is about 18 months late coming. Nevertheless, its heartfelt. Thank u Bill, for all the knowledge, I'm definitely a better picker for it. Happy retirement and all the very best. Mike in England 🇬🇧
Bill was responsible for getting me interested in lock picking. New videos will be truly missed. The quirky sense of humor, gutting disasters, and perpetually cut up hands made him such a character. I wish him well.
Thank you Bill. I am new to the hobby. I have been I spired by your wonderful videos and the videos of the lockpickinglawyer! You both have shown me that the lock picking I watched in P.I. TV shows as a kid, are completely possiable. Though I will never achieve the level of skill or natural talent you both possess, I will enjoy the journey. Thank you both so much for sharing!!!
Just about every time LPL will say “the pick me & BB made” a glance of sorrow will brake the silence. Congrats on the retirement. True RED devotes his precious time to the family is always healthy wise choice!
He's a heaven sent angel, a true blessing upon mankind, those who can't see that are truly blind. A voice so sweet and mild, gentle like the softness of a pillow, soothing like the wind through willow, if one day he passes, my tears will be thick as molasses, now he shares his time his kin and friend, for us all a sad but happy end. May his retirement be one which he can look back fondly on.
Thank you LPL for the update. BB was the first channel that had me enthralled with the complexity and intricate skill level that it takes to be a professional locksmith. His humility mixed with humor only added to his greatness. With all of this in mind, his ability to simplify what he was doing and why he chooses particular approaches, really made it as comprehensible to kids and adults. That alone is monumental. What a wonderful friend, teacher, and all around gift of life that our world desperately needed, and appears to need more and more, with every passing day. LPL, by reading these comments, I hope that you also realize what contributions you have made, toward the betterment of individual lives, and to society as a whole. Like Bill, what time and effort that you both have put forth over the years really does make a difference. I don't think you will ever know just how much of an impact to people's lives that you have made and will continue to make for many years to come. Keep being that glimmer of light for a world covered in darkness. Thank you.
I remember buying from him one of his signed bamboo CNC machined LockLab pinning trays. You and he together got me into locksport and I now have a pretty nice collection of AmericanLocks, including a custom-pinned 790 that's a real treat to have. I am grateful for the huge archive of videos there and will enjoy watching them again.
This send off is so professional it felt like he died. Also, I actually bought the tool Bosnianbill and you made when you guys first released it. Thank you both for an amazing tool and priceless knowledge.
I first discovered Bosnian Bill before LPL, I found his videos oddly interesting and soothing for some reason. I would never really give a second thought about the quality of locks but you guys have shown me just how important it can be and how easy many of them can be able to bypass. Bill will definitely be missed but thankfully its on his own terms.
I was hoping he's coming back. Sad to hear this now but he does the right thing. Thanks to Bill for his inspiration and help to the lockpicking community. Without him this community wouldn't have been that great as it is today. A mighty salute to Bill! Greetings from Germany!

I gave up a very successful drum cover channel for very similar circumstances and know the feeling. I tumbled on to BosnianBills channel about the same time as LPL and have enjoyed them both tremendously. Thanks for all the knowledge.
Have a good retirement Bill ;) Does anyone know what will happen to the Bill's "nasty bucket" of locks that couldn't be opened on camera? I think it could be interesting to see LPL explaining the intricacies of each one.

Thank you LPL, for letting us know about his retirement. I was not a regular viewer of Bosnian Bill channel, but I did watch a few dozen videos from him in the past and I must now head to my favorite one and pay my respect to his work. Excellent content, as always.

I wish good times for Bosnian Bill, and Mr Lawyer.
With a warmed heart and years of gained knowledge from a man that is both directly and indirectly easily responsible for introducing lockpicking to 100's of 1000's of folks, I wish you all the best in your retirement! You'll forever be a fixture in the community and will always have all of our respect! Onwards and upwards good Sir! Thanks LPL for making this perfect send off to one of the best! Living legends, the both of you !!

"Oh shit, he's died..."
*He's retiring*
"Phew..."
*Death in the family*
"Fuck... -.-"
exactly what i thought when this video appeared in my feed
My coworker, a locksmith died this morning from Covid. I can relate to this story. Thank you Bill & LPL for all the great laughter and knowledge you gave to the locksport community.
Sorry for your loss
"The pick Bosnian bill and I made" evolved to "The pick I wouldn't have without him"
Beautiful.
If he starts just calling it "The pick I wouldn't have without him" in future videos, I will cry
"acknowledging those who came before me". The late Carl Sagan suggested that one definition of "civilisation" was "the ability to learn from those who are now dead".
I would never have got here if it weren't for Bosnian Bill. He's as much a legend in my eyes as the LPL!
Absolutely! I was watching Bill for over 8 years. I think he’s probably the first CZcams I’m genuinely really sad to see go.
Same here dude he's the reason I got into this hobby
same here. I got to this channel through bosnian bill years ago.
Sounds like a good plan Bill. You’ll be missed but it’s always good to take some time for yourself and the fam.
Awwwww 😞
Sooner or later we all have to make the decision "when?" BB surely will be missed.
Besides enjoying the mega knowledge trove he has and shared , I just loved his voice.
So let's remember him as the man so kind that he even let LPL pick which leg he shot him in
what video is this?
@@ClashBluelight i think it was on bills channel. LPL was breaking in and Bill said he's still gonna shoot him, but he'd let LPL pick the leg. I'll see if I can find.
@@ClashBluelight search 1311 LPL raids LockLab's naughty bucket ... and you should be able to find it pretty quickly from that. He brings up shooting him in the leg at the end.
I was so scared he had passed away… but I’m still sad about how his life was affected by this pandemic. What a truly wonderful heart to take care of others like that.
You misspelled plandemic.
@@macethorns1168 probably part of your plan lmao
keep your fearmongering out of this wholesome lockpicking channel

@@AdamIsUrqed Yeah, it’s genuinely annoying. Americans amirite?

When this landed on my feed, (27th September 2021) I was seriously ill with covid, in fact it really did very nearly kill me. As a result, my wee thank u to Bill, and to LPL (because it was LPL who introduced me to Bill's channel, without him, I may never have found it) is about 18 months late coming. Nevertheless, its heartfelt. Thank u Bill, for all the knowledge, I'm definitely a better picker for it. Happy retirement and all the very best. Mike in England 🇬🇧
Cheers to the great BB and all I learned from him! Won some LP swag from him, too. Thank you, Bill! 🤗🤗🤗
Bill was responsible for getting me interested in lock picking.
New videos will be truly missed. The quirky sense of humor, gutting disasters, and perpetually cut up hands made him such a character.
I wish him well.
Bosnian Bill was who got me interested in lock picking. He is a true master and I wish him nothing but the best.
same here.
Good luck to you, Bill. Such a great human to help out his friend like he did.
Just about every time LPL will say “the pick me & BB made” a glance of sorrow will brake the silence.
Congrats on the retirement. True RED devotes his precious time to the family is always healthy wise choice!
I thought Bill was a good guy before. He's a pure Saint in my eyes now.
A great message, LPL. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes to BB and also the LPL.
I was hoping he's coming back. Sad to hear this now but he does the right thing. Thanks to Bill for his inspiration and help to the lockpicking community. Without him this community wouldn't have been that great as it is today. A mighty salute to Bill!
Greetings from Germany!
Me looking at the opening scene to the video: "Oh yeah. GunslingingBill."
There was a video where he and LPL busted open a hardened padlock with a literal shotgun. That's where I personally remember him.
They've also 'opened' some locks with a .50 cal.
That is the lock in this video
The squire padlocks iirc. They took those beefy monsters to the shooting range. Iirc
@@dragonfable66 you do. Going to miss Bill making content.
He was a marvelous teacher, witty and funny. But he got a upgrade: he now is an official fn hero. Thanks Bill!
I appreciate the contribution both of you have added to my hobby of lockpicking. Wish both of you the very best.
I gave up a very successful drum cover channel for very similar circumstances and know the feeling. I tumbled on to BosnianBills channel about the same time as LPL and have enjoyed them both tremendously. Thanks for all the knowledge.
Have a good retirement Bill ;)
Does anyone know what will happen to the Bill's "nasty bucket" of locks that couldn't be opened on camera? I think it could be interesting to see LPL explaining the intricacies of each one.
During an extended stay in hospital recently one of your videos popped up in my news feed.
I was so fascinated that for the 3 weeks I spent in hospital I binge watched your channel, Bosnian Bill and Lock Noob.
The end result was that by the time I left hospital I had a new hobby and a few hundred dollars worth of lock picking toys on order.
I’m still very much at the start of a steep learning curve, but I am starting get a feel for locks so the 3 channels listed above have become part of my every day routine.
All I can say is a big thank you to all 3 of you guys, I appreciate all your guidance.
I for one will miss Bosnian Bill’s videos.
😊🇦🇺
Amazing two hobbies have become some of the most beloved professionals on CZcams. Hats off to both of you and BosnianBill’s new journeys.
Sorry to hear about Bill's friend. He's a great person for stepping in to take care of those children while the father was in the hospital. I'll be going over to Bill's channel to congratulate him on retirement and wish him many happy years ahead.
I was just thinking yesterday that he hadn't posted for quite a while, and was getting quite worried about why. So thank you for letting us know. Very best wishes to Bill, and thanks for all the info he passed on in his videos
I thought exactly the same yesterday Brendan. I am very sad to hear that I won't see him and his videos again. It was BB who got me into picking, and I think that everything I learned has come from him. Here I am, at nigh-on 68 years of age, and I am so sad, sad, sad at this news. Thank you for everything BB...
BB is truly an amazing character. I'm glad that he is focusing on the important things in life. That being said, it saddens me to think he is just going to disappear. Even if he just dropped in every two or three months to say hello it would be welcome. We the audience develop a quite a connection with you guys. Its like losing a good professor unexpectedly.
He probably wishes his good friend that died would drop in every few months too. How rude can you get?

Very few ever get out of the youtube grind, I wish BosnianBill the best of luck with life.
Sorry we don’t have a “goldfish” watch for Bill’s retirement. As much as I love CZcams, glad he found something much more worthwhile to enjoy his life doing
Much respect to him for putting his life on hold to help others. This is the mark of a truly good person
Thank you, LPL, for showing appreciation to those who deserve it.
Thank you LPL, for letting us know about his retirement.
I was not a regular viewer of Bosnian Bill channel, but I did watch a few dozen videos from him in the past and I must now head to my favorite one and pay my respect to his work.
Excellent content, as always.
Our best wishes to BB. Is there a GoFundMe for BB's friend to pay for medical expenses and help with the kids?
I bet the community could step up.
He has a paypal linked on his youtube channel's banner
Covid-19 has truly left such a deep, deep scar in all of our lives... I don't think I'll ever have it in my to forgive ANYONE who downplayed, or even denied Covid's existence or it's seriousness...
My heart breaks for those kids... Loosing a parent is always hard... Bosnian Bill is such a hero for helping them.
Agreed. What a pack of fools they are for downplaying it.
It was an engineered virus. How can it be no one is being held responsible?
Chapeau!
Family, friends and health are all that matter in the end.
Good luck to Bill, he is the first locksmith channel I started to watch.
Thanks Bill for all the knowledge and fun videos.
“If you liked this video and would like to see more like it”
Not this time, LPL. If I click like then who retires next?!
Yes, that was a sneaky lawyer attack.
"I picked this Kryptonite Keeper..."
Whoa that was so fast I didn't even see it!
"...out of my closet"
Oh, ok...

LPL, you and BB are class acts as well as being fountains of knowledge. Much gratitude.
you have taught me not only how to pick locks but also how to be a good human. Bless.
As much as I’m sad to see Bill retire, the executives at Masterlock are celebrating!! Happy retirement Bill!!!
Sad to hear, but family does always come first.
Miss ya Bill.
Bill I so respect your change and growth here. At a very horrible period in my life you made it so much easier, I found abloy locks that no one can pick because of you and got some peace of mind. Bless you and best wishes for you and your wife!
Bless your heart Bill. Thank you for this send off and thank you both for the great community that has gathered around all the great knowledge you have both shares with us. Cheers to the one and only Bosnian Bill.

I'm glad he's decided to change his priorities to the ones that mean something more than tradecraft, he certainly was an extremely gifted man in his particular profession and he did share a ridiculous wealth of information. Wishing him the best! By the way, does anyone know if the tool featured in this video is available for sale?
He still IS an extremely gifted man. Must admit I felt the corner of my eyes prick a little when I watched this.
