    Great review. I have a Rem 700 22-250 (70's era) that I inherited from my dad that died in 1988 when I was very young. My mother passed in 2021 and I have the gun now. It hasn't been fired since before 88. I noticed it automatically fires when pushing the safety to fire & does the same if in the fire position & engaging the bolt. Anyway, I'm glad you provided this review. I know what I'm going to purchase now. Thank you sir.

    Great review for aftermarket R700 triggers, the Trigger Tech seemed to be easiest to work with for average mortals. I’m thinking about buying a Remington 700 and figure a trigger upgrade is all part of it! I have a 40X/22lr that the barrel codes indicate as a 1961 piece and my gunsmith was able to adjust the trigger down to 5oz, talk about a dream to shoot! Anyways, the later made Remington triggers are always a bit suspect in my mind. The Trigger Tech models are probably the route I’ll choose. Again, thanks for the review!

    Just installed a TriggerTech Primary on my Rem 700 and for a hunting rifle it adjusts down more than enough for me at 1.5 lbs. What an improvement compared to the stock Mark X Pro it came with. I have a Christensen Arms Mesa with the TriggerTech factory installed and while it doesn't adjust down as much it's still a nice trigger.

    • @TheChairisAgainsttheWall

      Any issues with the bolt release? Triggertech says their triggers are not for remington stock actions, but if it works for you, I’m down.

    • @gerry6.8
      @gerry6.8 Před 3 lety

      @@TheChairisAgainsttheWall The instructions I have from TriggerTech say it's designed for M 700 actions. To answer your question there are no issues at all with the bolt release, just need to make sure the spring is properly installed. Below is the PDF version of the booklet that came with the trigger.

Who told you that it wasn't for Remington as dumb a**It wasn't trigger Tech yourself. Said that says right on the box for 700 actions.

    Did you have any fit problems installing the Elf 700SE in the HMR? I found the dimensions of the Elf’s trigger housing did not allow the trigger to fit all the way in to be flush with the bottom of the stock.

    • @ZackCarlson
      @ZackCarlson  Před 4 lety +2

      I really didn't care for how many joints and connection points the Timney had. The trigger tech is what stayed in the rifle, it's amazing. The Elf is really good too but the TT is really really nice.

    Let me ask you this about that. I have a pre 69 700 BDL, it's never failed me to this day. I had the trigger lowered to 3# by a gunsmith 5 or 6 yrs. ago still no problems. Put that in your book.

    • @WYO2K
      @WYO2K Před 3 lety +1

      Buy a Triggertech and don't look back. Get the special or the diamond. There is a lot more than just pull weight. You don't realize the benefit of a nice trigger until you have one. It will definitely make you a better shot more consistently. I've poor boyed accuracy and I've spent money on accuracy, nice things help tremendously. On a side note, some of the most accurate rifles I've ever loaded for were pre 1980s 700s and a couple Rugers. Those things are badass. Post 2000s Remingtons are garbage, you would have much better odds in Vegas.
