Geoff's back out at the pigeons and he's doing a science experiment while he's at it. Getting hold of Eley Hawk's new biodegradable Pro Eco wad, he's left a wad submerged in water while he shoots, to find how much it'll really degrade.
Then, grabbing his Marocchi semi-auto, he sets about trying to build a bag… - Sport
Brilliant shooting. I'm an airgun shooter myself but enjoy watching Geoff. Love listening to you chat. And love your dogs too . Thanks keep up good work x
Steel is great for anything other than clays, corvids, ducks or geese 😂.
Great video as always, not sure but I think that there maybe “some” product placement in this video? Lol!
Spectacular shoot!
Good shooting fella they seem to have a hell of a kick
great shooting lovely gun.. Well done...
Those slowmo shots look like they have a bit of kick on em
Nice result for the new cartridges. No visible difference, with plenty down. Not sure where you found those birds though, been very few over my permissions. Only had one good day with 37 out of 50 shots. Great video as always. Thanks
Great Video 👏👏👌🏻👍
Great shooting, I get to shoot some country pigeons my self. But excuse me, didn't England outlaw pigeon shooting. I know, I"m probably wrong but I thought I read that somewhere or heard it on this show or another. Thanks for the show..
You want to get a bit of water in that squash mate, looks like you're drinking it neat!
I love a lot of your videos, but this one felt like watching an infomercial ........... I get it ........... biodegradable shot cups, steel shot..........
Top job Geoff👍
Perfect 👌
As a mater of interest how much per carton?
Any reason Jeff wasn't using his sticks for his decoys ?
What crop are you protecting Geoff or is this just recreational ??
Do they have to be stored any differently to lead/plastic , fibre wad cartridges?
was thinking that as well. Shelf life may be shorter? and have to make sure are stored in a very dry area
Tim they should be well sealed for field use but in storage you want to be certain to control moisture.
Keep them dry and store with humidity control in mind.
Story time: I'm in the states but a friend stored his steel shot left over from the season and it rusted into a hideous slug.
It feels quite different when fired in slug form so he opened several of the last season loads to find the steel shot had rusted together.
It made them interesting on the rifle range with water filled jugs but no good for any sort of hunting - and not legal for hunting either.
The biodegradable wads will need to be kept stone dry as well I'd expect.
What choke you using?.
Those bird look like bandtail
Question please correct if wrong. If lead shot was to be banned & steel shot as the new go to load would us the consumer see a drop in price per box of cartridge as steel is a more ready available source then lead. Cheers & very good video 👍
@Paul Alexander yes I agree with that but surely the manufacturing prices will be less as steel is no where near as expensive as lead per ton. If every major cartridge manufacturer were to make steel cartridges surely the prices per thousand would have to drop
That would be nice but as steel drops in price WADS will go up lol. Well someone has to pay for R&D.
just think how many nice guns would be scrapped !!!!!
hey hang on,just realised what I said !!! what better way for the Gov' to get guns out of peoples hands , not by force but by the fact that u cant use them any more with steel shot.
stephen hothersall they are about £350 a thousand
Geoff,dare i ask the price of a thousand. ?
What shotgun is he shooting
Using a simular product. No concerns. Done a complete season with these last year. Get the plastic out of our nature.. also for ducks and pheasants.
Nowt wrong with lead best killing meduim.
is Geoff putting hair dye in his hair below his nose ..
👍👍👍
Wheres the Maxus
Judging by the distance the majority of the birds shot, i reckon a .410 would down them.
That man would shoot the same with a 410 . You can see Geoff is a bloody good shot gun s don’t make any difference not to him
You should be ashamed for allowing those dogs to work so hard😉
Why are you killing them😭😭😭 I’m crying right now I’m disliking this
Why watch if it upsets you
They eat the crops, same with rabbits. If you leave them alone there will be nothing left to harvest: they'll eat the lot. You either farm to feed people or farm to feed the pigeons and rabbits. It's that simple. They are sold on as food and are quite delicious, especially pigeon. If you don't like this you should really stop buying anything produced on a farm. Remember that crops, being highly nutritious food and grown on a mass scale, attract a tremendous amount of vermin, which multiply rapidly, so have to be controlled. Have a read of some interesting farming books about agriculture, including pest control, and learn about where food comes from and how it must be protected from animals, insects, fungi and disease before it gets anywhere near a supermarket.
Why not try growing some of your own food? You'll know exactly how gets to your table and a little fruit and veg grown in your own garden on such a small scale attracts few pests. You can't beat fresh and tasty home grown. I also like to interplant with flowers to make a more attractive looking vegetable garden. Learn to make your own organic compost and waste nothing. Give it a go, eat healthily and have fun!
Good luck, from a middle-aged country girl from SW England.
