    Having a part of the defending army on attack mode was super fun. It keeps the fight way more dynamic. And also having the trolls as some kind of hero-zombie was very nice. It gives some personality to the faceless swarm.

    Those shotgunners on the other bridge nearly lost it to the trolls but pushed them back and reclaimed the bridge, then held onto it until everyone else lost their positions. Bravo to them. And just an eyeballing of them it seemed once they retook it, they lost little to none defending until they were flanked.

    The damage on the thompsons and shotguns needs to be raised to at least the level of a roman with a sword, the fire rate needs to double, and the shermans need their machineguns, at least two if not all three of them. also the shermans need to have twice the fire rate that they have, one shot every 4 seconds.

    • @oOFoof-wo1vd

      @inquisitorialcandidate-1237 Před 2 lety +11

      That would make the entire WW2 faction untouchable which would render them unusable in battles. The shotgun and kar98 do need a damage buff, and thompson could have a slightly better RoF and dmg. Not sure about the shermans changes though, I think it would need direct dev intervention because it changes up a lot of mechanics (no unit has 2 weapons so far) and given how much they're working on (they want to double the units and maps currently in game), they wouldn't spend time to change a single unit, and I don't want them to. Daley has a lot of other more accurate WW2 sim videos, you should check them out if you want more realism :)

    Dynamic fun battle. One thing I would suggest is I think a timelapse of defenses slowly getting overrun would be more interesting than some of the ones you chose. Focusing on the static rooftop fighters when the other flank was being overrun and missing that collapse entirely was an odd choice.

  • @creedrichards137
    @creedrichards137 Před 2 lety +57

    In the future, you need to emphasize the static flanks more, and perhaps have a final reserve in the rear. With so many zombies and body piles negating fixed defensive emplacements (and blocking ranged weapons). I think you need to separate your forces in two; the meat shields and the final redoubt in the hills.

    The downfall of the battle for the US was when the right wing got too overstreched and eventually died, making trolls and zombies pour in and destroy the scattered defenses.
    Also when the main bridge defense got so many kills that the body pile created a bridge over the river for the zombies to cross.

      I think it wasn’t over-stretching that got the right flank but at the bridge thanks to the buildings American fire was separated leading to their defeat the Ai should have been less greedy on their approach or noted the problem and pushed forth. “That zombie bridge” also wrecked the Americans because now the zombies could take cover from Sherman and extra definitely not all but extra Thompson fire.

  • @orangegalen

    Might've gone better if you'd had one Sherman on the bridge, two providing support fire from higher elevation, and maybe have a Sherman on each flank attacking with the shotgunners. It was really the trolls and then the body pile(s) hindering line of fire that brought the U.S. down.

    I would really like to see, if you do this again, a main force on each bridge! If it's supposed to be a bridge defense then each bridge should be defended. So the zombies have to work for the flank. They were spread to thin over all the bridges on this map to give a accurate fight.

      @inquisitorialcandidate-1237 Před 2 lety +2

      The piles helped the zombies a little, but it the flank which completely destroyed the US. If the main bridge would be set to assualt, they would eventually push out (unlike the left flank, which couldn't because they had less support) and get surrounded after overextending, like the right flank.

    • @xenotypos

      The assault is obviously the main reason they lost. Firepower is everything in this game, since they're no friendly fire. A static concentrated mass is just 100x more powerful.
      That's actually why the first assault team on that second bridge did so well: they (mostly) stopped moving, overall I mean. And concentrated their fire, by some miracle.

    I really think that the Army could’ve won if there were no trolls mixed in. And maybe if more troops were added to the right side attacking force. They did not have enough troops to defend all of those bridges to the right, where as the left all focused on one bridge and probably could’ve kept them at bay if they weren’t surrounded at the end.

Also, it looks like 2.5 millions zombies was the tipping point. The US forces collapsed after that. So maybe 30,000 US troops are needed, or maybe 20,000 but positioned differently. Anyway, thanks again.

    Unfortunately, the zombie's numbers were just too big. Trolls helped to soften the U.S. forces, but ultimately I don't think they really mattered. Once the body piles began to form secondary and tertiary bridges where the U.S. forces were weaker, it was over.
    It certainly didn't help that a huge portion of the U.S. shotgunners went and suicided themselves by taking additional bridges. The first group, sure, they did good. However, the second push on the "right" side shouldn't have happened. Once the first push were routed that plan should've been aborted and shotgunners should've stayed put and ran interference for the SMG gunners. Even then, the zombies numbers still would've overwhelmed them eventually, but it might've delayed the end a bit longer.

    Next time try this, Germans on the shoreline, Shotgunners defending the bridges, Assault troops set on the attack, and then three units of Shermans/catapults at each bridge for fire support/artillery, and one free fire unit. Also, strengthen the flanking lines.

    First did you see Markiplier posted an Epic battle simulator 2 vid and also some ideas (sorry if you have done them) 1. in the total war games there are historical battles you could do a playthrough and talk tactics and possible historical context. 2. Using total wars custom battle set up do some difficult seiges either attacking or defending. 3. Show some of the more funny warriors in Epic battle simulator 2 . Like do a massive battle between all the animals. 4. Set up some ranged hero units on top of towers and ro the body pile one the rower rather than the wall.

    It seems like there are two possible strategies to maximize the effectiveness of the US troops.
    1) Bunch up the troops as tightly together as possible in order to minimize the cross-sectional perimeter that the zombies can attack from.
    2) Send more assault troops in the beginning to take the flanking bridges asap.
    Having the units in the back is a waste of firepower because they were too far away to shoot at zombies. They should have been sent to the flanks with the assault team.

    i think the main problem wasn't the trolls it was the aiming system. in the first game i usually notice the soldiers would break off from firing far targets and all shoot at the closest target once it got near. but in this it looks like they don't target the closest one but keep attacking the one they originally fired at. which of course allows the other zombies to run up to them

  • @Jamie_D
    @Jamie_D Před 2 lety +15

    I actually think it's good they glitch themselves up, otherwise it's unfair as there aren't any genuine ways to get up, so if they patch it then they also need to make it so troops can't stand up in those spots, as they aren't going to edit maps to add stairs at this point.
