    For those in the US, I saw some of these at Target for around $70 or $75, I think. They have great deals sometimes, so keep an eye out if you're interested.

    I've been shooting with this camera for about 3-4 months now, and it's definitely got some limiting factors, but this limits have forced me to get a little more creative and selective with my shots. The exposure is hit and miss. You really have to be hyper-aware of what areas of your shot the camera is metering from. The price of the film is definitely the best part. It's no match for my SX-70, however it's a really solid camera once you've adapted to the limitations. I carry mine every day.

      @@AnalogThings I had to go back and look at some of my shots, and yeah. It looks like I've had the same issue too. It really depended on the subject matter though. It's definitely more noticeable in some and less so in others.

    I shoot mostly at 'landscape' mode (6ft-inf). All the control modes (lighten/darken, double exp.) default focus to 'auto' (2-6ft). So...I use ND filter gels over the lens to darken and over the sensor to lighten. The large flat surface of the lens makes this easy using removable double-side tape. Most of the time I use a .15ND gel over the lens to avoid overexposure especially in bright light. Double exposures are still restricted to 2-6ft, but who really cares about sharpness (some of Monet's best lilies & bridge motifs were done when his failing sight introduced softness). You can adjust double exposure densities with ND filtration. My "bottom line" conclusion is that I regained a passion for photography by working within the limitations imposed by the medium and the camera 'tool'.

    The review I was waiting!, although the main disadvantage with the dark/ light combination with macro or landscape is a big loss (in bright conditions I usually combine macro and landscape with darken with the mini 90)I think I'll buy it and experiment with it. Will be great a review of the Diana instant, I've heard and read about it and seems it's a fabulous option in the instant world.

  • @richardg6109
    @richardg6109 Před 4 lety +7

    I really like your videos but you blew this review. From the start you seemed annoyed at Fuji for not giving you a camera.
    You can buy it for $75 USD now and it, and the film, is a steal compared to your beloved Polaroid. The SQ6 is more consistent, with better colors, and MUCH cheaper to use.
    Learning curve on exposure and framing - you need to shoot multiple packs to figure it out.
    It's a cheap plastic lens, so you should not expect a high degree of sharpness at infinity.
    You need good but not harsh light, get close to subjects with vibrant colors. My copy is sharp and will expose properly most of the time if you are familiar with the modes.

    • @vekofoto
      @vekofoto Před 4 lety +1

      the review is from 2018, as for being familiar with modes for better exposure, D/L is not even a mode you can combine with focusing modes, such a poor decision on Fuji's part, focusing and exposure are completely different things

    Hi, very helpful, but I still have a couple of questions:
    1) I don’t quite understand the very differences between “selfie mode” and “ macro mode” since the have the same focal distance.
    2) what’s the focus distance when shooting automatic, or double exposure or lighten and darken mode. They just specify the focus distance when shooting macro, selfie and landscapes. Thank you!

    I wanted to get the Sq 10 instax, because the film for my Polaroid Spectra is very expensive and because it has so many functions, but idk how the print of the fujiFilm instax works. It is said that the pictures will last longer than the Polaroids and won't fade out in color, but since it's printed with heat, will the image turn unusable after for example holding it in front of a hairdryer?

      I'm on the kickstarter for the Instant Magny 35 that will essentially give a classic film camera an 'instax' back. This will give you all the flexibility of a 35mm camera and its superior lens selections and exposure control with the option of using instant film. The best part is that you can use the same camera to shoot regular 35mm film if you want to as well!
