since first episode, everyone complains about his work but this is real. The real kitchen is like this. This resto is peacefull, every kitchen always wars every day. But Chef Choi is a really good boss, good chef, good ex-chef too.
Initially I misunderstood chef Choi as being mean and constantly gives out heavy atmosphere to his staff, but over the episodes I came to realize he is doing a nice job of being a boss, a boss that is not too cheeky to his staffs to the point that they will take advantage of him for being nice and casual. In an episode where he became an intern at a Chinese restaurant is refreshing as shows him retrace his steps and humble beginning, that he has lots to learn despite being in the industry for 25 years. The managing style Choi use may look harsh and unpleasant on others, but doing it motivates his staffs to persevere and improve.

That’s how most korean tv shows are, and it’s usually just for show, even though they’re not actually like that in person. It’s to create “drama” really :/
I guess they fired him because he has served his purpose, by building the restaurant with reliable and trained chefs, and managers who can run the restaurant. Owners often do lay-off their skilled and high paid employees because they find it a liability or loss in their business. Which sucks, because they just used the person and then tossed them a side, once they get what they want. The reality of life tho.
True, but I hope he can have a money to start his own, or have a better offer for a much better job offer, with much better condition and loyalty. Which is rare, but possible.

The pressure is immense. This actually looks like a lovely place to work in comparison to most kitchens.

The new company actually takes over the business. I just can say how bad the reality is when the restaurant does not achieve their sales and it is really hard for the owner when the company decide to sell their business. Like chef Choi said he did not have enough money for his own fund to become an owner, so all decisions are based on the new company and he has to move on if they find the new chef manager. At least, all his employees still keep the job. Good luck with the new journey and Chef Choi Fighting!!!

Having worked in a professional kitchen before, it is not unusual for the owner of the restaurant to lay off the executive chef after they've served their purpose. Once they revamp the menu, bring the restaurant up in terms of quality, that's the time where the exec chef will be laid off. However, I'm surprised that the rest of the chefs stayed on without Chef Choi. Usually, other chefs who were promoted or trained by the exec chef and are in close relations to the chef, will faithfully follow the chef wherever he goes.
