    Thanks for speaking Korean slowly and clearly as well as spelling phoneticly. Most sites do not do that.

      @@beans6151 It is. An idol is anything that gets in the way of you and God. The cross is an idol. People clutch the cross in moments of danger believing a cross can save them when in actuality only God can save us and never told us to care crosses

    When i have to use the second verion on 'older people', does that also mean people only 2 or 3 years older than me, or elderly people?
    Because isn't 잘 지냈어요 already polite, and therefore adequate for people few years older than you?

      Everyone who is older than you you must speak to with a formal tone. It does not matter if it is just by a year, or even a few days.

      If the person is the stranger even you can use 잘 지냈어요 as 요 in the end is formal but not that formal like 잘 지내셨어요 . it's more better to use 잘 지내셨어요 .
