  • How to Travel with 2 Toddlers - Toddler Travel Tips to help flying a long haul, international flight with two toddlers. In this part 2 of 2 videos, I go over boarding and in-flight tips. I cover how we flew with our first born Lauren aged 2&½, and her younger sister Sophia aged 1 years old on a 18 hour flight. I share what was helpful for us, what to expect, and things you want to avoid. Just wanted to share tips and our experience on how we managed to fly with 2 toddlers through this video. Please comment on your experience with flying with toddlers, or if you have any questions at all, we'll be sure to try to answer them all. Thanks for watching and please Subscribe!

Good tips, will share some of mine as well!
I just traveled with 2 toddlers, a 22 month old 15 kg boy (seating on my lap) and a 3,5 yo. I was with my parents, so I had help carrying stuff around, but when it came to sleeping eating, bathrooms, all kids want are parents.
    So, some of my tips:
Bassinets have weight and height limits (if I remember correctly it is 10kg). I guess your daughter was rather slim, when I traveled with my kids when they were around 1yo , they would not fit the bassinet. The rule of turbulence is true, though when I traveled with Air France they did not make me take my baby out.
I used the airline blanket to create a tent for my daughter and minimize light and outside distractions, stuffing the ends at the head rest of my seat and the seat in front of me. I like your idea of a hammock, but I saw today a product on Amazon that I will give a try (a inflatable rectangle to fit in between the seats, creating leg space for the kid.
Carrying a toddler during a long flight can be really painful. I got little sleep and my arms were sore. If your kid is reaching the 24 month limit and is on the heavier / larger side, I do recommend not saving and buying him a seat.
I always find having a tablet useful, specially during waiting and connections.
Agree with all your tips: entertainment, presents, snacks, all definitely very useful!
    Thanks for the videos!

    Hi Kim!
No problem :) Our trip back home to South Africa was wonderful! My daughter was such a gem on all our flights, she slept on most of them. Best thing I ever did was choose flights at night and during her naps because the plane put her right to sleep and kept her sleeping! I also asked for a seat to be blocked off next to me so I could lift the arm rest and let her lay her head and body on the seat and her legs on me. I also bought a standard size pillow from home and it was one of the best things I brought with us! So helpful to keep her comfortable. People were really helpful as well, especially the older ladies. I let my daughter run around in the airport to tire

I have 11 month old twins. This was probably the most helpful travel video I watched. Also, remember to check (free) the carseats and gate check an umbrella stroller. When you check the car seats, you can put them in travel carseat bags or oversized contractor size trash bags and we buckled into them the bedding, blankets, and extra packs of diapers.

The trip was wonderful and my daughter was pretty darn tired after the long haul but we did it and it was not as bad as I had contemplated it would be :) I just adjusted her naps and bedtime to the time zone i was in :) I hope your upcoming trip goes well and your little one does well :)

How were you able to tie the blanket so that your daughters legs were dangling. That's very smart. Would u mind explaining how you did that

  • @supportmanualflying2224

Hello, Some planes are better in terms of making you refresh and giving you a refined and smooth ride. (I am not advertising as you pick the airline, but to get a good plane, you will need to select a flight that is flown by that plane) Some of the best in the world for safety and comfort are the Boeing 747 (jumbo jet),B757 and Boeing 767 as they have more fresh air in the cabin and more air pressure so your ears will hurt less and you will feel as if you were almost on the ground and get less jet lag. The 747 is a must for pregnant mothers due to its smooth landing gear giving smoother landings and also it's fantastic ride through turbulence, cushioning everyone from the bumps.
A seat for a toddler and a completely protected bassinet( where the baby would not float out ) should be a human right because during severe turbulence anything that is not strapped down will float up in the air. Plus you will need a pilot of high skill to protect people on board from such turbulence
    Sincerely,
    Support Handflying Channel

    • @BananaManaTV

Thanks for the question and nice comment. Just take the airline blanket corner (on 2 sides), and wrap it around the tubbing of the bassinet, and tie a simple slip knot a couple of times. Then have your toddler's weight support the other end of the hammock. I'm sure there's a better way to tie up the hammock, so get inventive on the plane, and good luck on your flight!
