It’s crazy to see all these streamers playing FFXIV after Asmongold admittedly boosted the player numbers with him simply playing the game encouraging others to try it out. Really enjoyed seeing Summit having fun questing, reading text & appreciating the games music, environment, story telling & characters. All around good vibes and excited to see him grind out FFXIV tomorrow again!
Afaik asmongold is sort of prophet in wow community, if a prophet does something then usually the follower will start doing that Not to mention some people might have fed up with wow so ffxiv is going to be easy to be accepted by them
its static and the pets are stupid, if you move to much bahamut and phoenix literally do nothing, Endwalker they are making pets static, basically you don't need to summon them anymore or use skills for them anymore, because SMN and SCholo has been changed every expansion and still can't get it to work.

Idk why people think Ninja is hard. Pressing many buttons in a short amount of time is not hard, it's always the same pattern. You can even bypass melee downtime mechanics by casting your mudra accordingly. Every missed gcd on a samurai is way more punishing than on a ninja.
@@Karbonblade ninja has a slightly higher skill floor than the other melees and i think that's what makes people think it's hard. when in reality it basically plays itself after the initial learning curve. in comparison, samurai is a nightmare to play in any content that requires you to do more than hitting a dummy lmfao
samurai is by far the easiest of all melee dps. They have the highest personal damage so you better be topping the dps charts or you are doing something wrong.

Know which attack can you use third eye on and continue to do your combo? Using meditate at the right time to maintain your gauge and give you a running head start when it's time? Easy to learn definitely. To master? Not as easy. There's a reason why there aren't that many good Sam at endgame...
Honestly, he was 100% correct in his assessment that it has a high skill ceiling. I feel like a lot of samurai THINK they are doing well, but then you look at the logs and it's pretty bad.

As someone who mains a healer, I second the claim of “don’t piss off the healers”. Let’s just say well “accidentally” forget to give you a heal… it was a complete accident - promise. ;) P.s.: In my opinion, the absolute biggest thing you can do to piss of healers is breaking line of sight/moving out of cast area when being healed… you have been informed.
I think if I played I would start Lancer/Dragoon, go to Dark Knight eventually, then maybe red mage or machinist, then eventually try samurai or ninja.
Exactly what I did, dragoon is my all time main, but red mage is sooo fun & good for story content too. I literally played all those you listed when I started the game but mschinist was poor & I still stuck it out.
Samourai is really Easy to play but one if not the hardest to optimize so the skill cap is low but the skill celling is very high (even I can play it in a decent way when my main job is Dancer but I can't compete with good one, the difference is huge)
Truthfully since you can play every class on one character i woupd recomend trying them ojt to get a feel to what you like for example i played dps when i started but now play healer simce how diverse it is
I'm a red mage main the class dose good damage when played correct it may not top the boards but it's a fun class to use as the utility it brings with the heal and insta rez brings more flexibility to a raid I've had plenty of dutys and extreme trials were the healers got derped and I had to heal the tank and rez the healers, plus the are combo is really good at mob clearing the only real con I have is the class is squishy and I've had plenty of times were I mis read the boss and zipped in to do my melee combo and just been insta squished
So tired of these delicate males who see the dancer job as not worth their time, no doubt he thinks it's just for girls. Plz no one ever partner his character, he doesn't deserve the buffs.
There are years of bad habit from WoW to burn off for him. It took me 6 years to give me the patience to try MSQ and now I am a changed man. How long will it takes for him or if he lasts at all. He seems to be into FF8 so he may have good chances to reclaim good habits of how to play a proper RPG.

I know right? Been using dancer through storm blood and it’s really fun. Sure it’s more support than most like, and the ring is kinda annoying at times, but when it comes together you can deal a lot of damage at a very safe distance.

Black mage is not hard to play... but kinda is at the same time. The rotation is simple and really easy to learn. What IS difficult is that you need to learn the mechanics because they punish you a lot harder than other Jobs. Since you have long cast times and can’t move much.
Only problem with all those Streamerfans coming to FFXIV is.. they're pretty toxic players. And they didn't start playing because they wanted to but because their streaming Idol did. RDM is the lowest non-physical-ranged dps, BUT if you check fflogs its not really much behind. additionally you get the insane utility, which helps with finding prog groups. Mentor chat KEKW

@@somnus970 the skill celing from dancer comes from when to know when you're supposed to dump all your resources, saving fourfold feathers and espirit for when everyone's dps buffs are up increases your dps by alot, also knowing what procs to prioritize also can increase your dps by a decent amount, dancer is really easy to pick up but hard to parse high.

I think it's a good time to get into it just to start, because FFXIV is one of those games you want to start as soon as possible if you plan on playing it at any point in the future (Better raids, pvp ect..) it's not like a normal MMORPG where you can powerlevel to unlock stuff, you have to go through the story level by level some main quests being 2-3 levels long even though the levels don't even last that long, causing you to over-level later down the line I feel like the pvp will definitely get better in the future, with the influx if players there will be increasingly high demand, and i think this'll be the first "Test" from the community to see if they apply something they really want, seeing as how WoW apparently didn't do that for them First step would probably be more instanced pvp & battleground type things so that people can access it easier, from what i know right now the only way to really pvp in FFXIV is to go to an off-shore island you only learn about if you want quick currency for your mount or other crafting stuff

There's an achievement that if you get all battle classes to 80 you get a mount.

Easy rotation hard to "play" aka do good dmg in harder fights, I think its reasonable to label it as a hard class despite having an easy rotation.
The rotation is the easiest part it’s getting good dps out while still avoiding shit like you literally stand still more than a damn healer does
You need to adapt your rotation to every fight otherwise you lose even more DPS than other classes fam

I think it's a good time to get into it just to start, because FFXIV is one of those games you want to start as soon as possible if you plan on playing it at any point in the future (Better raids, pvp ect..) it's not like a normal MMORPG where you can powerlevel to unlock stuff, you have to go through the story level by level some main quests being 2-3 levels long even though the levels don't even last that long, causing you to over-level later down the line
I feel like the pvp will definitely get better in the future, with the influx if players there will be increasingly high demand, and i think this'll be the first "Test" from the community to see if they apply something they really want, seeing as how WoW apparently didn't do that for them
First step would probably be more instanced pvp & battleground type things so that people can access it easier, from what i know right now the only way to really pvp in FFXIV is to go to an off-shore island you only learn about if you want quick currency for your mount or other crafting stuff

Before this whole 'blow up' of FFXIV, it was still the most played MMO by measure of active players.
Game never died tho, it's just got more people interested.
