After years of dreaming about it we finally left Germany for a new adventure! Our new home is Portugal and believe me, packing all my costumes, props, tools and materials was anything but easy! Would you dare to make such a huge step as well???

Why did you decided to move?

We were actually already thinking about moving to Canada in 2018 and tackled it in 2019. Then the pandemic hit and we had to cancel our plans. Years passed and I still really wanted to leave Germany and start a new adventure in my life. I became also really depressed during the winter. Canada wasn’t an option anymore though, as we got older and didn’t got enough points for the Fast Entry immigration program anymore. So we began searching for a new country, but one that isn’t too warm in summer and too cold in winter. We checked out Tenerife, but I wasn’t super excited. Finally we spent some days in January on Madeira and we instantly fell in love with the island! The weather is very consistent and nice, it’s blooming all year, people are lovely and the country is amazing! Plus it’s only a 4 hours direct flight to all our friends and family!

Taxes are way lower than in Germany, which must be nice when you are a succesful CZcamsr. German CZcamsrs are almost a bit of an epidemic on Madeira, mostly for that very reason. :D

How did you get a visa to live there? Now they don’t even give a Schengen visa for tourism - they write a formal refusal and say that they don’t want people to move to live with them. And at the same time they do not return a large processing fee.@@KamuiCosplay
Great country Portugal (Madiera). Wow, you've been thinking about this for so long, but it's a great decision. You, Benni and the girls will do amazingly in the new home.

It is the most stressful thing in "normal" life: moving. I know we don't see the screams and tears that go with this kind of life changing event. But for most people I don't think we'd be able to piece together a twenty minute video on the transition highlights! Way to stay positive and see the joy and potential in your new adventure. I'm sure it was an epic effort to pause life and focus on this move...and still stay upbeat and share with us this video. It's truly inspiring and amazing. Now, here's a toast to you getting back to making more cool stuff out of foam, plastic and fabric in your island paradise!
I think the biggest difference is the fact that they chose this themselves.
Thank you both for filming the packing, moving, unpacking, shop set-up, and of course bringing the dogs over! I too like the big full-length mirror.

I hope everything goes well and you settle in quickly, Moving is terrible, but once you are in and relaxed it's a great and exciting feeling.
My husband and I just bought our first home at the beginning of the year. We only moved about five minutes away from the apartment we'd been living in for eight years, but the move was so hard! I can't IMAGINE what moving your whole life to a new country would be like. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!

Watched the workshop tour a few minutes before this and now everything is different - but it still looks so cool. Hope you can relax a bit even with the three cosplays on your to do list. Hoffe ihr könnt euch ein bisschen Zeit zum Ankommen gönnen bei dem ganzen Umzugs- und anstehenden Convention-Stress.

I recently spent a week in Madeira, and it was amazing! You never get bored of the levada hikes. I will say, some roads are so steep they're basically vertical so hope you have a good car!

In my first 20 years, my family moved from New York to Santiago to New York to Washington to Brussels to Washington to Den Haag to Washington. The stress of long-distance (especially international!) moves was absolutely crazy and we had nothing like your workshop, costumes, props, etc. etc. etc. to worry about. I can't imagine the stress of seeing all your handiwork and livelihood disappear into shipping containers... I'm *so* glad everything came through OK and that it's all working out! Enjoy the new climate & surroundings, and I'm looking forward to new videos from the new workshop! :-)
The new space is very nice. The recessed lighting in the ceiling is especially lovely. You are way more organized than me! I hope we will get to see a little of Zelda and Midna in the dog park.

when I heard that you moved abroad my first thought was "Madeira", the next time I will bet with a friend! I now lost count on how many german youtubers moved to Madeira by now.

Yep, it's a money thing. Madeira is a well known tax-haven. The only reason CZcamsr's move there is so that they can pay less taxes and make more money. It's a bit gross, tbh. On top of that, living expenses are way lower in southern Europe... As a successful CZcamsr, you can basically live like a god over there, whereas Germany is much more expensive and taxes are higher.
My god I actually started tearing up when you reunited with Zelda and Midna! As a dog-mom myself I can totally empathise with how hard it must have been to go through such a huge and stressful change, without your babies at your side! Loved loved loved the ending with their little beach runs, could see just how happy they are! Wishing you a happy and successful life in Madeira - all the way from the UK 🎉🌞
