You cant coach/referee these types of hits and stop them from happening. When you are on the field, things just happen and unfortunately, they can result in serious consequences. I signed up for this. I knew the risks. I made a bad play. I payed the consequences. Simple as that.

    My grandson was tackled and hit HARD in the chest. He started acting strange on our way to my car and wanted to lie down in the back seat to sleep.
    I had him sit up front with me keeping him talking with stupid questions about the game. I drove him to a nearby fire dept. to get checked out. I was NOT taking him home until I knew that he was safe.
    His resting heart rate was 267! He was rushed to the hospital and stayed for 5 days. They couldn’t bring his heart rate down in the safe zone until the next day and the nurse told me if he’d have gone home to sleep he’d of had a stroke.
    People, listen to your instincts and if you feel something is off and you’re close to a fire dept. you can go in to get checked out. They’ll put themselves out of service (not dispatched to calls) and will focus on you.

It is the job of adults to keep children safe and not encourage this kind of behavior. If an adult wants to run their head into things then let them. no it's not. the objective of football is to score touchdowns (on offense) and stop the progress of the ball (on defense). exactly HOW one stops the runner can be implemented in many ways. learn how to construct a legitimate analogy first

    All right. Listen. This is FOOTBALL. Big hits happen, injuries happen, and, in the saddest and worst case scenario, deaths happen. It's terrible but in a sport where you throw your body into another human being there is NO WAY to be "safe."
    Do I want people to get injured or die? Absolutely not, but these kids, young adults, and pros playing football should know the risks of playing a violent sport and are willing to accept the risks. You can work on your form for tackling, and you probably should, but when two men are running full speed at each other about to lay them out, you can't really control how you hit.
    If you want football to be a safe sport then take off the pads and put flags on your hips. Otherwise, suck it up and instead of getting yourself injured, injure someone yourself. This is football.

      @guava727 Před 7 lety +3

      Or instead of trying to injure other players and ending up hurting yourself, make sure your players know how to tackle. So many hs players just run into guys head first trying to make a play. Wrapping people up isn't as cool as giving someone a concussion, but it's safer for both sides.
      I agree that taking away tackling is a dumb idea, but saying that the solution is to injure someone instead is idiotic.

    • @JakobKane55
      @JakobKane55 Před 7 lety +2

      +Juiceton727 You missed my point; when two people are sprinting toward each other, that man holding the ball isn't just going to let you wrap your arms around him like coaches tell you to.
      To be clear, my point is there is no definite way to always tackle. Sometimes that 260 pound linebacker running full speed at a 220 pound running back will lay out that running back. When you're in that moment, you're not thinking about appropriate tackle techniques. You're thinking about stopping the ball carrier.

    • @guava727
      @guava727 Před 7 lety +1

      +Jakob Kane I get that and agree, I just think there are too many guys out there that just torpedo into players.
      It's hard to have a clear message when you advise guys to injure players. That's the attitude that leads to guys getting killed out there.

      It's less dangerous to hit with your body. Your body absorbs most of the impact which doesn't jostle your brain around as much. The most dangerous hits are those that involve the head. That's why everyone rightfully hates Vontaze Burfict's guts.
