Hurrem, who lost her power in the court, is working for Mihrimah and Rüstem to marry. Suleiman, on the other hand, wants his daughter's consent. Hearing that Prince Mustafa went to the sea, Suleiman sends news to his son. Meeting with Mustafa in a secluded place, Suleiman teaches him a great lesson. Mimar Sinan is called to build Hurrem's complex and he becomes the Chief Architect. Hurrem is playing a new game, trying to get between Shah Sultan and Lutfi Pasha. Shah Sultan, who is not aware of this, is doing his best to prevent the marriage.
However, Hurrem confronts her daughter with such a reality that the fate of Mihrimah and the empire changes! Hurrem, who lost all his power in the divan when Lutfi Pasha became the vizier, takes action without wasting time. On the one hand, she tries to break the relationship between Lütfi Pasha and Shah Sultan, on the other hand, she tries to persuade Mihrimah to marry Rustem.
Because Suleiman stipulated his daughter's consent for this marriage. Mihrimah is still after Malkocoglu. When she learns that he is meeting with a Venetian woman, she goes crazy with jealousy. When Suleiman hears that Prince Mustafa is sailing, he invites him to Bursa and teaches his son an unforgettable lesson. In this meeting, Mustafa realizes that the gap between him and his father is getting bigger.

Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Nobody married for love, especially daughters. This was the sad reality of those times.
In the past all marriages were a form of transaction. Additional to this, nobody had high expectations of their partner anyways, and was focusing more on what they can provide rather than what they can get.
And so barely anyone ever married for love, neither girls nor boys, boys just often weren't as picky if they weren't already loving someone else

I can see how unfair it is of Hurrem to encourage Mihirmah to marry a man she dosen’t love given that Suleiman married Hurrem outta love BUT I do appreciate her having Mihirmah listening in on Bali Bey’s reasons for not being in love with her. It was a hard decision but I think it’s a growing pain that Mihirmah must endure as a princess and sad reminder of marriages being made for money/political alliances instead of love
Suleiman married Hürrem out of love but Hürrem was a slave a lady from his harem... Mihrimah was the fruit of that love and a member of the dynasty by birth, an ottoman sultana... that is the little big difference between them so it is out of comparision. So back then, it was correct and normal that Hürrem had encouraged and promoted that marriage, for the sake of the empire and the brothers of Mihrimah.

And besides, each one had a different situation, Suleiman was the sultan and Hurrem was a slave, a lady of his harem who he happened to love and marry, Hürrem was not a member of the dynasty she fought her way to the top, unlike Mihrimah, she was the fruit of the love of Suleiman and Hürrem, an ottoman Sultana BY BIRTH, a member of the ottoman dynasty so she had other obligations and very different from Hurrem's when she was just a slave...so, no comparison.
