The idea of adding a lining was very daunting for me, considering I don’t sew much. This video is so helpful and detailed! Excited to start adding linings! Appreciate the work you put into your tutorials!
I'm so glad! You're kind words mean so much to me :)
beautiful. I enjoy doing hand-stitching; it feels more peaceful. My sewing machine and I are always at war.
I would agree!
Thank you so much for this, it helped me so much to have confidence to line my crochet bags ! You are very in depth and detailed and it's just what I needed 😃
I'm so glad! I sometimes think I explain too much, so I'm happy to hear it is helpful :)
Finally! Someone who not only shows the simple acts I don’t know (like how to tie a knot in thread) but shows how to get it so the thread doesn’t show on the outside of the bag, plus how to cut and pin fabric…thank you so much! I have had a bad sitting in my closet for YEARS and now I feel ready to tackle the lining!
I'm so glad you've found this tutorial helpful...thank you for your kind comments! 👍
Thank you for this tutorial. I have lined a few already before watching your tutorial, but I love your detail. Especially for the top and the invisible stitch. Excellent detail. I learned a lot. You are a great teacher and such a pleasant voice. 😊

This was so helpful. Theoretically I knew what to do, and I'm sure i could have muddled through, but I wanted to watch someone else do it first. You explained this so clearly and I have no doubt in my mind exactly what I need to do now.
I'm so glad you found this helpful! I also have a tutorial on another lining for a square shaped bag, and using a sewing machine: czcams.com/video/bo_J21iEvDw/video.html

Hi Patricia - I'm late to the party but I just found this and I'm so in love with this pattern. I have a question. I've done a few test squares with different size yarn and hooks. I'm going to use Lion Brand Truboo which is a #3 yarn but I'm also going to use an H hook because I found I couldn't get the guage with a G hook to make the square 5"... having said all that, about how much yard did you use to make this purse? I'm going to start mine asap!
Welcome here! I'm so sorry, but I don't actually know how much I used because the gauge is hard to measure for a square (rather than a panel). I would have to unravel a square after making it to know. 🤔Also, as I got my yarn from the thrift store, I'm not entirely sure what size it is, so that may differ from yours. Sorry!
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia No worries, I'll figure it out. Thank you for the beautiful pattern!
you are most welcome!
I want to make this bag. What size yarn and what kind of yarn is best for this project? Thank you.
This yarn was a thrift store find, but I do talk about options in this video here (both in the video and in the description box below) czcams.com/video/2ejdb-pVxKI/video.html. Basically any number 3 weight yarn would work.
Where can i buy material like this to line a bag? I cant seem to find the right kind anywhere
It's just cotton fabric, like what is used for patchwork quilting. I got mine at a thrift store, so I don't have a proper name or brand. But any cotton fabric will work perfectly. :)
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you!
