    NOTE** Be aware that the throttle body shown in this video has been installed incorrectly. The throttle body should be turned 180 degrees where the electrical cable and servo unit is to the rear (or left if you are looking at it).

    I can say from experience, if you go to this much trouble for the ribbon - replace the garbage stock throttle body mount with a billet 1 piece unit. They fail all the time. Cheap a bulletproof after.

      He installed the Riva ring with arrow pointing in air flow direction, which is away from throttle body. Two videos I've watched have done this the same exact way, are you saying they did it wrong? To point arrow towards the throttle body means it's pointing away from air flow direction.

    @Steel5xchampS Před 7 lety +3

    that ribbon serves more purpose then you think...and the whole "it prevents backfire" is far from its main purpose. Its main purpose is to regulate air flow which is why its in the throttle body in the first place. Serves same purpose as a Mass Air Flow sensor "grid or screen" commonly found on vehicles. Which when said individual was looking for ways to improve fuel economy and add horsepower--giving by throttle response, accel/top end as well as improved engine sound you would simply remove the grid in the throttle body/MAF sensor section of intake. Most times this was done inconjuction with adding upgraded performance filter or full on filter intake kit. The only down side to removing the grid/screen is most vehicles you would have to disconnect battery to reset ecu. But after a few hours or days it the computer would adjust itself back to normal to makeup for increased airflow or it would cause poor running. which is why when you do stuff like this its best to have the PCM/ECM/ECU reprogrammed to allow for the increase in air. Or else your gains will also be seeing losses in other areas

    can you remove throttle body without removing intake manifold?

  • @clikuk3719
    @clikuk3719 Před 3 lety +1

    Question
    Will the ECU auto adapt to the air fuel mixture after this install as you will have a leaner mixture now
    Or will you have to now buy the tuning module to get the right air fuel mixture best to let people know this
    As a lean mixture is not good

    • @Pwcmuscle
      @Pwcmuscle  Před 3 lety

      It "adapts". There is a sensor and it just reads the map according to the sensor's output and the RPMs and throttle position

      @@Pwcmuscle so there is no need to flash the ECU after removing the ribbon, because it will adapt to the increased air flow? I know on my fuel injected atv, if you didn't add a power commander you would have a lean condition with all that extra air. Just curious what's different from this injection system and computer than the one on my fuel injected Yamaha ATV engine? It would seem that the ecu retune by Dean's or Riva would in conjunction with the ribbon delete,. would wake the engine up a bit because the reflash is where the added fuel comes from that richens up that new air from the ribbon being out

    • @Pwcmuscle
      @Pwcmuscle  Před 7 lety +3

      The ribbon is there to help prevent a backfire from reaching open air. The air filter, supercharger, and intercooler will all do this as well. The air filter is mounted up high, so it'd be pretty hard to suck up water with it
