Always stunned by the quality they are able to display live. You can tell they don’t have to use any studio magic to achieve their sound, everything they do it unchained, pure, organic talent.

Not a fan of the front of house engineer here. Complete overuse of snare bombs to the point where it's distracting. Less is more my man.
Seems to be a trend now, when I've seen Architects recently pretty much every snare hit has a fuck tonne of reverb drenching it. I like the sound of them but only sparingly!
Lol I really don’t think they are using snarebombs. Alex is really heavy on the snare it’s kind of the way he plays I guess. He knows how to hit it lol
Sammy Drake it has nothing to do with Alex. A “Snare bomb” is an effect engineers use. It’s when you take reverb and put it up in your mix at certain snare hits and then quickly take it away leaving the decay of the reverb for that hit you put the reverb on. So it gives off a massive sounding snare hit but it’s only for certain hits. As a front of house engineer myself i can definitely tell you that the engineer is playing around with snare bombs in this. Again, it’s nothing about Alex, not even a little bit. Alex is one of the best drummers in the scene. This is just my personal critique of another engineers work. Rest of this mix sounds great, just the over use of an effect for me.
Hashskii Music I know what a snare bomb is. The way he hits his snare naturally sounds like a snare bomb. That’s what I’m saying.
Sammy Drake okay, well a natural snare no matter how you hit it doesn’t sound the way it does at those points in the songs. Don’t get me wrong, alex is a monster and beats the fuck out of his kit but tastefully, but I can guarantee you the engineer is using that effect. However, i guess we will just agree to disagree.
