A cobbler can always put non-slip pieces on your soles. It could save you a broken wrist in the winter. Or, you can sand your boot bottoms with coarse sandpaper.

Hi Gemma, in my opinion, the skinny jean only works for very slender women, but for the rest of us heftier gals, the look would give off a stuffed sausage appearance. The same for those dreaded leggings. 😬
I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, especially when it comes to legs and bottoms! To many people, filling out a pair of skinnies or leggings looks better than a very slender look.
I still remember telling my high school boyfriend that I thought another girl wore a pair of jeans better than me because she was skinnier, so they didn't look tight on her. He looked at me like I was crazy. Nowadays, I really think it looks good when plus size ladies show off their thighs :)
I am 76 years old and need to wear orthopedic shoes. The shoe industry is finally coming out with some decent looking styles. I have three pair of loafers, different colors, that work for me. The riding boot is a possibility for me. I do have a pair of ankle boots that have a thick heel that also is good for me. Thank you for your videos

Another terrific styling video, Gemma! I love the woodland colors and English Country style in the very first image. As for boots, I love almost all styles of them, but prefer a slim fit to my skinny legs. I got three new pairs of knee-high boots this year (black, cordovan and khaki) and just got my beloved Stuart Weitzman thigh-highs in beige, I already had the black. Thigh-highs are not trending so much now, but I love wearing them with skirts of awkward lengths, as shorter styles often end up on my petite frame (hems can cut right across the kneecap, but these knit or leather skirts can’t always be shortened). The one trending style of boot that I am actually decluttering is my Western/Cowboy style ones, they just don’t feel like me anymore.
@KP: I can also relate to having a slim fit boot due to my thin legs and will advise those who share the same dilemma if you don't, you risk chaffing after any length of walking which can become uncomfortable.
I absolutely love shoes and boots are my favourite. However, where I live in Australia I don't get a chance to wear them as much as I would like...time to move? 😉 Thank you Gemma, your videos are the best.

Today I will go and get myself the black riding boots with a heel, I think, since I already own a pair of camel ones with a flat heel. Black knee high boots used to be a true staple in the winter for me. But then came the short boot. Now, it is both;-)

So good we can stay elegant even in winter ❄️ We can wear cashmere socks to feel warm. Musketeers are perfect because they insulate the leg really high. Under the dress they are not as vulgar as with a mini skirt.
As for the ballet flats in winter .. I do wear them but at home. They are great to look elegant during parties or Christmas Eve, running between the hall - the kitchen - and dinning room 🌟🌲
That’s a good idea that you suggested. If you dress up a bit for a special meal at home, particularly if you’re wearing a dress, carpet slippers seem to contradict the whole look! Ballet flats would look better.

Riding boots always look good in winter I like black tan and burgundy. I team with leggings I agree ankle boots with skirts a far nicer with same colour tights. I wear leggings in black too under a skirt if I wear boots. For extra warmth. Love the Cape in camel thanks Gemma

Last year I bought an amazing boot Wesleigh from RLL with a block heal amazing quality and style. This year I purchased Brittaney in Tan right before my size sold out can’t wait for it to be delivered. Loved the casula style tips and sure will try add a cape on my wardrobe. Questions the blouse you are wearing a cotton T-shirt underneath? I have a problem with my shirt as I sweet under arm .. any ideas of what to do? Should I about this type of fabric instead?

Hi there, yes, so they’re really meant to wear as boots in the countryside or anywhere where it’s muddy. You wear them just like boots and take them off before you go inside 👍🏻

Flat shoes are a real no for me. They fall off or slip off ALWAYS unless they lace up and then look like granny shoes. No thanks.
I wear trainers or walking boots and this works as I cycle or walk everywhere . Boots of any sort work well providing there is a zip or laces
By the way, Hunter wellies are VERY narrow fit.

Thank you! I think that I figured it out, but not before I got myself into a bit of a mess! The website never said anything like congratulations you have just purchased the show or anything except that the cart would revert to empty, so it would say “ your cart is empty “! Well, I found out that means you have purchased something so I had accidentally purchased 3 pairs of the same shoes and had no way of knowing this. Since I thought the website wasn’t working I just called them and they were very helpful and nice and they canceled 2 of them and kept one order! Nice people working there but goofy website! Just thought that you would like to know in case it happens to someone else.🙃🙃🙃💕
My legs are thick I don’t find many boots that fit me .
Cobblers can add an elastic insert into boots. It might be as much as $60 though. Not sure.
Flat's are very bad for your feet, wouldn't wear them outside regardless if they have rubber soles.
