Here are some old horror novels you might like. _The Hunger_ and _Wolfen_ both by Whitley Strieber. And both were made into really spooky and atmospheric movies.

I Am Legend is one of my favourite books! I definitely agree that the creatures seem more like vampires than zombies. I also just read The Book of Accidents and loved it.
Okay I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way haha and yes Book of Accidents is def. a unique read 🙌🏼

Into the drowning deep is one of my favourites. By Mira Grant. Basically a bunch of science people on a huge boat looking for evil mermaids. Slow burn at the beginning, but it gets really good and creepy!

Summer of Night is one of my favorites. I adore it, and IT. I guess I just love those coming of age horror tales.

You pause a book for a month and then get back to it? Doesn't that make you lose the train of the story and you forget some of the main characters and how they fit into the story, or what relation they were to the main character?
