  • These oil heaters should never go to landfill! They turn up all the time and are very quick & easy to scrap out. There's not a huge amount of scrap value, but quite good parts value and the wheels are very handy for making pot plant trolleys for your veranda!

    Great that you aim to re-use (=sell) switches, blocks and all the tiny stuff! (Have to remark that I just had 3 add breaks in this 10min video - a bit excessive it seems - but I'm happy to support your work)

      That does seem excessive with the ads! I don't think I can change that - it's a youtube thing..

    I showed this video to my oil heater so it would heat faster because this room Is cold

    Nice one...I noticed you dont strip out the elements..not worth it?

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  Před 4 lety +2

      Very little value in the elements Mario - mostly steel and I'd rather not disturb the oil!

      @@TheUltimateRecycler understand..I thought the elements may have been copper or brass but I must have been thinking of the old models

      @off spec There's nothing wrong with the oil.. I just didn't want to make a mess! I'm not sure on the oil type - probably a light grade high temp resistant mineral oil of some sort.

    Hi there , i need ine caster wheel for a Delongi oil heater .
    If i send you a photo of it could you please see if you have one that you could post to me in Eaton WA ? Cheers Gayle

      I don't have any heaters to rob parts from at the moment Gayle - and don't have room to keep them anyway now that I don't have a shop backyard! You may be able to find something at an ewaste transfer station locally?

    I really liked the video. The plug from my Delonghi heater is damaged but the power chord is still good. But I can't find a new cable to replace it where I live. So is it ok to replace the plug but keep the original chord? Thanks in advance

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  Před rokem +1

      Yes, for sure Marcelo. Replacing the plug would be fine as long as it is rated for similar current to the old one 👍😊

    What did you do with the oil that fills the radiator?

    where do you buy the oil casket for the heat element ? My heater oil is leaking

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  Před 9 měsíci

      I don't know, but it would be probably pretty easy to cut one from general purpose gasket material or even use a gasket compound.

    my radiator makes noise when it starts to heat is from gorenje company what can i do

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on the type of noise really. Some of these oil heaters do have 'expansion' creaks as the metal expands while heating - there's not much you can do about that. Thanks for watching 😊

    Can you bring the whole thing to a scrap metal yard? It has oil though.

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  Před 5 měsíci

      Fair question Luke. The scrapyards allow for contamination with the shred steel price - and there's actually a waste levy as well at my yard. Best check your yard beforehand though..

      @@TheUltimateRecycler my concern was that I couldn’t throw it away. So I put it in the garbage to see what happens (after parting the toggle switch out). someone winded up taking it so I guess they’re going to bring it for money less hassle
