How to avoid these traps?
@ 4:42, is this better if we capture knight × C3
00
Now there is another really interesting moment in this game.
i didn't know what that meant but after watching i'm laughing my ass off
Could you please repeat that ?
The suspenceeeeee!
I almost my internet connection are getting bad 🤭
I guess he's thinking that we did hear him.
3:32 - And now there's another really interesting moment in this video
0:00 Intro
0:11 Flagship Trap in Ponziani Opening
5:33 Boden-Kieseritzky Gambit (Stafford Gambit for White)
8:59 Hanham Variation Trap
11:23 Fishing Pole Trap for White
Great video.🙂👍
@3:32 "a really interesting moment in the game" & the awkward 20 seconds following this statement is the most interesting part of this video, ironically.
another trick that i cant remember when in the middle of game
U need to repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat by yourself at real board to memorize it. Pro players practice and memorize positions at least 8 hours each day, lmao
Haha same here
0:25 if black Nc6
5:41 if black Nf6
9:10 if black d6
11:40 instead of white Nf3 -> white Bc4
Happy birthday GM Igor Smirnov,,God Bless and have a good day.
Good teaching! I'm a 65 yrs old man, used to be a good chess player ...enjoying your teaching and "chess traps".
Thanks for the video. Many happy returns for tomorrow Igor. Stay safe.
Love the Ponziani -- thank you!

All 4 opening traps are really good,,thank you sir
That’s terrific thanks
Looks simple however, brilliant. Thanks!
thank you Grand Master for your chess teaching
Very nice Igor...very well presented.
Nicely presented. Thanks! I have just begun to play again (after a 20 +/- year hiatus :-) and was out here in the ethernet looking for tutorials, game tactics, techniques and examples, and came across you and your channel. Kudos for the YT video - it jogged the old memory cells and has me ready to set up the pieces and ATTACK! lol. You also got a new subscriber here, but think I'll also be taking some time to check out your other videos and classes.
Very nice attacking technique for white pieces sir, thank you so much. More power.
Thanks for the teaching
Incredible.........,thanks big fellah.💪
Happy Bday GM Smirnov
I really enjoyed watching your videos of chess traps and gambits, and I wish to know if you have high profile chess traps and gambits for sale. Thank you
The first trap really cool
Thanks a lot for the lesson i learned a lot God Bless
Last game wonderful sir, Happy birthday
Happy birthday GM igor
Great stuff , thanks
The Petrov defense line is just reversed Stafford with tempo
Thanks for excellent games
Thanks for showing some of the excellent traps one can use.
You are welcome! 👍
Very helpful video
That second one... wasn’t that the stafford gambit for white?
Happy Birthday Igor
Happy Birthday GM
Hey, I like your videos, what program do you use for your board?
Your chess videos are amazing. PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO BEST OPENING TRAPS FOR BLACK.
Very helpful
Sr tanks. More videos sr
Blessed happy birthday!!!
Wow! Nice!
I LOVE YOUR TEACHING
HVALA!!!
All these videos are quite interesting. I'm learning little by little. Define many people I play, most people I play utiliser pawns more to push. I guess kind of Simple playing?. The way I played starting out. Which negates hell are these setups traps.
First trap.. After bishop capture g6 and black queen h4. Wat the good move for white?
Superb video.
The same video for black would be awsome
Hey ...what if the black knight takes takes C3 pawn?
Happy Birthday from Bosnia.⚘🇺🇸
In the 4th game, white's attack seems to fall apart if Black plays Nd4 after White plays h4, instead of Black playing Ne8(?) as he did in the game
I think white can then play Qg6. The point about Ne8 is that it can go to f6 next to stop Qg6 being so useful
Happy Birthday 🎂🥳🎉
Happy birthday sir
HAppy birthday
I love your name! The most Russian of Russian names! So 👌. Thank you for the lessons. Now. Can I remember them and apply them is the question. Well done sir
Tnx sir
7:30 u could even earn a pawn by doing kE5 because if he take the knight u'll take his queen with a bF7 in the next move.
there was a very interesting moment in that game
Very good traps
these are very good IF>>>> your opponent makes the correct move--if not, your gambit must change course immediately!!
Advance Happy birthday Sir
Very nice 👍
Thx
Beginning at 3:32 until about 3:50 you need to finish editing the dialog.
I thought my pc was having issues xD
Cmon , It was a really interesting moment in the game
There we can castel in trap 3
Happy birthday 🎂
15:52 how about if black capture the knight first instead of queen.?
Super sir
Definitely paying to c7 and the diagonal line more after this lol
Wow trap one is so 🎀🗡️pretty 🗡️🎀 I'm sure if I could learn this I would suprise many an opponent.
In the 3rd game when Knight moves to H6 and Bishop x Knight, why doesn't Black just castle? Rook protects pawn from Queen attack and hence, a checkmate.
Very nice
which is the best chess app for pc
@ 4:42, is this better if we capture knight × C3
Wish you a Happy Birthday!
#2 looks like a reverse Stafford gambit. i play that alot
Flagship Trap in Ponziani Opening 7:16.
What happened if the black queen takes the whit horse, wouldn't that stopped the attack?
10:20
There is one way I can think for black to defend the mate-
Black's bishop to b4(check),
White's pawn to c3(or any knight to block the check),
Black's queen to e7(or f6).
I think that will save the king
(Note-white's knight to g5 and Black's knight to h6,so same conclusion)
This is pretty tough situation so black actually loses more material than white does since black bishop may also be taken at the very end.
Yes, also after loosing his knight at h6, he can 0-0, okay he looses a knight but not mate!
4:35 : how if black sacrefice knight nxc3?
4:40 what if instead of night b2, knight to c3 is played?
If ...Nxc3, White has to go back to playing boring chess and just take Black's queen. After Bxd8 Nxd5 Rc1 White is a piece up and still has an attack, although forcing mate may not happen. By the way, the same plan applies after ...a5 - take Black's queen to ensure a material advantage, and maintain that material advantage if you can't checkmate.
What is the name of this chess app?
Blessed happy birthday GM Smirnov!!!
j
10:19 can't black play rook beside the king after bishop takes knight?
That’s what I was thinking too
If he does that the bishop will capture the pawn and threaten the rook, black has to move it otherwise the bishop will simply capture the rook.
Happy birthday 🎂🎂🎂🍰🍰🍰🍬🍬🍬
Couldnt black just castle after bishop takes knight? @10:16
बहुत अच्छा
Happy Diwali
16:20 Knight takes the knight on E7 foils the mate.
Look again. It's a double check from the knight and bishop.
more and more bday to come
4.50 if Nxc3 in stead of Nx b2 then
What if Queen takes Bishop instead knight captured pawn.?
Igor Igor Igor forgot the editing lol hope you enjoyed your birthday man
16:32 white knight can be taken by the black queen, instead of moving the black king in the corner for the checkmate.
It's a double check. Look at the bishop on b3.
The solution in the third example after sacrificing the knight is to move the rook beside the king.
Good evening
I’ve watched literally dozens of chess trap opening videos and I haven’t once yet seen one where the trap can’t be stopped by a simple pawn threat.....
Happy Birthday Sir you are the best teacher in the world and i became CM due to you . Thanks!
At 16:00 what if black kills knight on g5 it ruins the whole sequence
if i could give it two thumbs up, i would
This is a every chess player should know these openings and I'm 3 minutes into the video with some absolute clutch blue moon situation happening
