I know most people talking on the major networks don’t shop for themselves, but not only did major chains, raise prices during the Covid era but they also combined the pain by reducing portion sizes for everything purchased.

ADM is a massive company 2% increase could cause inflation. The problem with our food industry is just a few massive companies.
Over printing money, now price control.
Price gouging is an actual crime during times of war, natural disasters, economic shocks (financial crisis, the great depression) etc and for it to be a crime it has to have a defintion .
Some people are telling me it’s not real, but I can’t see how that is possible.
Everybody wants to blame purely inflation, but record profits from food and gas companies says otherwise
It's not only in America, it's been happening all over the world. There's a noticeable difference between different stores as well now, and I have noticed the same as many others who track food that there's more water (or fat) in meat that's prepacked or frozen (by putting it on the scale before and after cooking). Smaller packages is another one, you grab the same box and pay the same, but there's less in it.
There were campaigns against some that really went for it, they have since reduced the prices somewhat as the stores were near empty.
Talk about price gouging, I just bought an ink replacement cartridge for my HP printer , it was $64.00 , there is at most one once of ink in the cartridge, there is 128 ounces in a gal , $64.00 x128 = $8,192.00 per gal. If this is not price gouging then I don’t know what is. Unfortunately I didn’t realize what I had paid for the ink until I got home, my fault I should have returned it. But then I would have to buy a new printer.
The Printer ink Monopoly is terrible, old printers are the best.

You can’t prove these things a lot of the times. Companies have record profits because people spend more. Not just revenue is increasing, volumes are also increasing
