1977-Tonight Show (Johnny Mentions Peter Finch's Death) (Audio)

-On January 13, 1977, Peter Finch appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show, riding high his new fame for his role in "Network" as newscaster Howard Beale, who made the phrase "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" famous. The next day, Finch died suddenly of a heart attack. That night in the final segment of the Tonight Show, Johnny mentioned Finch's death and gave condolences to his widow. Three months later, Finch would win a posthumous Oscar for his role.
-This is audio only of that segment. I have the video (the still comes from it) but technical difficulties made it impossible to rip for upload. The audio though I think gets the point across sufficiently. The previous night's interview with Finch has not been released by the Carson estate and is not on YT (and I don't have it).

I explained above that I was unable to upload the video. For some reason my DVD of this program will not rip to my computer. It will playback (which was how I could rip the audio) but not rip nor can I copy it to another disc to see if I can then rip it.
