ROAD CLOSED: Major Mudslide between Kohima-Dimapur NH-29 at Dzüdza Village under Sechü-Zubza.

Deputy Commissioner Kohima has issued an Order stating that in view of the restoration work for removal of #landslide at #Dzüdza village under #Sechü #Zubza the segment of National Highway-29 between Kohima and Dimapur from chainage KM 163+980 to KM 164+030 (RHS), shall be closed for all forms of traffic, including light and heavy vehicles, from 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM with effect from 16th of August, 2024 to 18th of August, 2024.
During the closure of road, all traffic shall be diverted to the following alternate routes:
Peducha Bridge to Tsiesema (10 Mile Road) and Dzüdza bridge-Mezo Basa-Sechüma-Sechü Zubza (Light vehicles only)
Therefore, all commuters have been advised to plan their journey accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Good that contractor is pumping machinery now. There was enough time to build retaining wall but nothing was done earlier.

@@ApTo734 this half baked fish thought a retaining wall could be the solution, the whole hill came sliding down… retaining wall won’t do anything & it will still take along with the slide, and guess what! You’ll be pointing your fingers on the quality of the wall constructed, it’s easy to point out.

Who is the contractor . Why people are suffering in 4 land.? There was enough time in march April for retaining wall. If we middle class done mistake authority will complain, but those crorepati are enjoying with official mala mal...

Transport of economic goods, trade and commerce even through 4 lane, 6 lane 24x7 is often insufficient. In Nagaland State Capital Kohima cannot be reached without two 12 hour highway closures for trucks. First at Dimapur and second closure just 10kms stop before Kohima. Truckers has to wait the whole day on the highway.
There is no strategic plan to keep the highway open year round. One may blame rains and nature, but rains are every year and sufficient road protection is not done. Alternate by-pass roads are also not constructed nor maintained.
But come Hornbill Festival and organise some concerts, send some Naga singers abroad, and things will be ok.
Maintenance cost is roasting the state's money. Endless suffering.
Shift the capital asap.
Not every issue is an opportunity to remind other of your dream of shifting captial. Just accept that it's not going to happen.

An appeal to shift capital to somewhere else. The road conditions are terrible on top of that even during emergency hour Jotsoma and khonoma villagers are not allowing the passersby to cross their village . The funds are pumping in those villages for development whereas they are not favouring the public even during emergency time. What is this? Let's shift the capital to some where else.

Every mudslide season, the road to kohima has always been diverted via Jotsoma and there has never been an issue. Khonoma has been a tourist hotspot so having constant visitors isn’t uncommon to the villagers.
It is not the wisest thing to be spreading such false accusation against villages unless you are a retard.

They are workers, day & night working to restore the Road..... So that so-called can have comfortable life....... GOOD OBSERVATION
Our people would rather steal/ extort our own people than take up those jobs that the main landers/ immigrants are doing there.
Those guys came to Nagaland and working with proper documentation . Focus on dimapur where 60% non locals are living without proper documentation.
