The problems with the making of this movie, like so many others, were caused by the W*insteins. Wes and Kevin had a very different movie in mind when they were making it, a whole different cast that included Skeet Ulrich and a practical werewolf designed by the guys that did American Werewolf in London and the Grinch, then they came in and basically forced Wes to reshoot the entire movie how they saw fit. It’s awful how he was treated, but it honestly speaks volumes about how talented Wes was that he was still able to salvage it and make an entertaining movie.
It's such a damn shame Wes continually did horror movies for those guys. It would've been amazing to see a Scream movie or any other horror Wes made, without their interference.
The Weinsteins are complete idiots for what happened to Cursed. We all still wish to see the original version of Cursed but even though i heard that some of the footage, even the reshot versions, still exist, that was never meant to be, according to editor, Patrick Lussier. I read the original script for the version Wes wanted to make and it seemed to be a very wild concept on paper. It was so close to becoming a reality BUT, thanks to the morons formerly known as the Weinsteins, Cursed became the product of their infamous misguided studio interventions. Still, for better or worse, Cursed was still a good movie. Unrated or not.
Here for Beau’s character development!! He was such a douche at the beginning, but became my favorite character by the end. Beau does need love 😭 nothing like an “enemies to lovers” trope.
Wes did the best he could. Love the fact that the werewolves go through the process of being more attractive. I've always found that fascinating in folklore.

i love this movie! also part of me is glad that they didn't go with the "falling in love with your homophobic bully" trope, because that is so very cliché and overdone, and having them be friends instead is really cute, but also like, you're telling me you had milo and jesse in a movie together and you didn't let them kiss??? do you know the impact they would've had like it would've been such a cute couple. as soon as bo drops the internalized homophobia act, he is fully like the sweetest guy, throwing himself in front of jimmy to save him, like please they needed to be a couple. also there is a lack of fanfics of them on ao3 lmao, its like 10

The “Craven Cut” of this movie has Skeet Ulrich (Billy/Scream) as the third lead with the two main characters. There a ton of actors who were cut from the og and directors cut. The movie was shot three different times with different plots and storylines. Also Mandy Moore is playing the Mya character and I think she lives in that version, but I like Mya. She did good in the film. The two main characters are a couple in that version. (Wow?! ) The Craven Cut is stored somewhere in the studios film library, they just don’t want to release it because it was shot without an ending and because of the troubled production and it was a massive failure in theaters.
It’s not just a case of being unfinished; any distribution label that could get their hands on that workprint (missing more than just the ending btw) would not only have to get each actor that didn’t appear in the final cut to sign off on it (and most likely for a fee), but would most likely also have to work out residual deals with each of them. It’s simply not worth the cost to release.

Specifically since it’s not a good film and what’s the point since it just got a physical media release last year. I’ve only heard of some instances of giving residuals only if it went into television syndication. It might be different qualifiers if it got into other mediums. I don’t know if they made deals for streaming services back then since things like Netflix was barely there.
next on the werewolf list absolutely needs to be ginger snaps! it’s my all time favorite wolf flick; it’s got iconic fashion, sisterly bonding, and 90s goodness. it’s a true classic for so many reasons 🥹

I know people hate the idea of remakes, but movies like this are why remakes are a great idea of the source matrial is right. Movies that could benefit from technological cinematic advancements and movies with great concepts but were poorly executed. And then movies like this that had all the potential in the world, but because of the higher ups, things didn't go the way they were supposed to. I remember loving this movie when I was younger. So, if it was remade and done properly, it could be the kind of thing where audiences would love both versions.
For a long time I thought this movie was a fever dream! I remember watching it once when I was little, and that I liked it so much that I wanted to watch it again, but nothing else. No name, not even remembering who was in it, so searching for it years later and then watching your reaction was great! Thank you! If you're up for more werewolf movies about siblings then I would definitely recommend Ginger Snaps! It's one of my favorite horror movies ever, and I'm not ashamed to say that the ending always makes me cry lol. It has a lot of themes about sisterhood and how hard it can be to grow up female.

I know there was A LOT of behind the scenes issues and changes that made this movie basically completely different from what was originally intended but the movie we got is so unique and campy and fun and still scary. To me it's the best parts of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, back at it again. A truly iconic duo. Not to mention Christina Ricci and Miss Judy Greer turn this movie OUT. And your sweetie Joshua Jackson is also very sinister and sexy in this one. A 10/10 movie IMO

This was movie that I unexpectedly enjoyed when I first watched it back in the day. Kevin Williamson knows his way around a horror movie with a hot young cast of actors from WB shows.
I haven't seen this movie in ages, thanks for reminding me of it. I believe it was meant to be a horror comedy, I love it TBH. I need to rewatch it. Something about the goofiness and slight self-awareness of late 90s/early 2000s horror movies that lend to their fun and watchability. This is a great example of that. Great reaction, as always!

I thought I had seen this, but I'm not quite sure anymore. It feels like a few moments are familiar, but it's been decades, if I have seen it. This cast is INSANE! Wow. And also, the hair choices for the guys, were just that...choices! lol Update: I remembered the killer, so I've definitely seen this before. I don't know why people hate this movie. It is a very 2000s horror. lol. I've seen worse.
I don't think cars in real life explode like they do in movies. I think you'd enjoy watching 2015's Howl that's a fun werewolf movie. EDIT I believe the pentagram hand is actually tied to werewolf lore (unlike the silver bullet which was a hollywood invention). Signs of infection after a bite included the index fingers of each hand becoming extended, the palms of the hands becoming hairy and a sign of a pentagram appearing on the body. Here they mixed two of the signs with the pentagram appearing on the palm.
Love this movie. I've only ever seen the uncensored version. In fact, the uncensored version is what was released in Canadian theatres. That's the version I saw. It was bloody, gory and just delicious.

Apparently this movie was already edited like crazy after filming was done to satisfy the producers’ demands, and then at the last minute, the production company edited the film down even more to give it a PG-13 rating instead of the R rating the film was originally intended to have, because the producers thought a PG-13 rating would lead to more ticket sales (which it didn’t). That caused the already poorly edited film to be edited down to a nonsensical disaster of a film. Wes Craven was so pissed off, he completely disowned the film after its release & publicly bashed the producers for ruining the film.

There's a horror with Joshua Jackson that i think is quite good(my opinion) but there's unfortunately one scene that has SA in it and i know how you feel about that. I feel the same way about it that's why i only watch it once in a blue moon. It's called: Shutter. It's not very explicit but enough to make one uncomfortable... anyway, i don't really know if I'm asking or not 🤔 Don't forget a nice little horror called: 30 days of night. I was trying to count how many times the line “Sever the head” was said in this vid but I lost count lol. This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine and I love it.
My sister worked in the prop department for This Is Us and she said that Milo is such a genuinely nice guy. She and her husband actually named my nephew Milo. Lol
I know people hate the idea of remakes, but movies like this are why remakes are a great idea of the source matrial is right. Movies that could benefit from technological cinematic advancements and movies with great concepts but were poorly executed. And then movies like this that had all the potential in the world, but because of the higher ups, things didn't go the way they were supposed to.
I remember loving this movie when I was younger. So, if it was remade and done properly, it could be the kind of thing where audiences would love both versions.
For a long time I thought this movie was a fever dream!
I remember watching it once when I was little, and that I liked it so much that I wanted to watch it again, but nothing else. No name, not even remembering who was in it, so searching for it years later and then watching your reaction was great!

Omg I always thought I was alone when thinking that Jimmy and Bo should have ended up together lol. Jimmy had so much better with him chemistry than with Brooke, and Bo kinda redeemed himself in the end (he could have died, but he still helped Jimmy). Can't help but ship it lol

If you're up for more werewolf movies about siblings then I would definitely recommend Ginger Snaps! It's one of my favorite horror movies ever, and I'm not ashamed to say that the ending always makes me cry lol. It has a lot of themes about sisterhood and how hard it can be to grow up female.
Is there a version now with subtitles? I remember enjoying it but missed out by not hearing a lot of the low/muttered dialogue...

This is probably my all time favorite werewolf movie. I know there was A LOT of behind the scenes issues and changes that made this movie basically completely different from what was originally intended but the movie we got is so unique and campy and fun and still scary. To me it's the best parts of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, back at it again. A truly iconic duo. Not to mention Christina Ricci and Miss Judy Greer turn this movie OUT. And your sweetie Joshua Jackson is also very sinister and sexy in this one. A 10/10 movie IMO
I remember catching this movie on syfy but i do not remember the movie going this hard 😂 like mya, joshua jackson, jess, and jesse? Your reactions to them popping up mirrored my own! I see that you're team Jess which is disappointing but i can overlook it 😏 cause as much as i dont like jess, i was too rooting for beau and jesse together.. actually i see a wattpad story of the throuple between jesse, beau, and ole girl that found zipper! But thank you for having me watch this again, it was definitely worth revisiting! I'm also gonna piggy back off another comment that suggested My Soul to Take bc yeah that's an underrated movie that I believe you would appreciate! Oh and Crywolf (if we switching over to a supernatural beasts theme) you were hilarious and beautiful as always! Cant wait to see that gorgeous face for the next video ❤
They even had Rick who did special effects for all the famous werewolf classics (the howling, American werewolf in London etc.) on board and he got cut!

This was movie that I unexpectedly enjoyed when I first watched it back in the day. Kevin Williamson knows his way around a horror movie with a hot young cast of actors from WB shows.
I haven't seen this movie in ages, thanks for reminding me of it. I believe it was meant to be a horror comedy, I love it TBH. I need to rewatch it. Something about the goofiness and slight self-awareness of late 90s/early 2000s horror movies that lend to their fun and watchability. This is a great example of that. Great reaction, as always!

I love this movie, it’s basically a Scream movie but with werewolves instead of ghostface killers! I honestly think if this had come out in 1999 it would be a hit. It’s so fun, flaws and all!

I thought I had seen this, but I'm not quite sure anymore. It feels like a few moments are familiar, but it's been decades, if I have seen it. This cast is INSANE! Wow. And also, the hair choices for the guys, were just that...choices! lol
Update: I remembered the killer, so I've definitely seen this before. I don't know why people hate this movie. It is a very 2000s horror. lol. I've seen worse.

I believe the pentagram hand is actually tied to werewolf lore (unlike the silver bullet which was a hollywood invention). Signs of infection after a bite included the index fingers of each hand becoming extended, the palms of the hands becoming hairy and a sign of a pentagram appearing on the body. Here they mixed two of the signs with the pentagram appearing on the palm.

Love this movie. I've only ever seen the uncensored version. In fact, the uncensored version is what was released in Canadian theatres. That's the version I saw. It was bloody, gory and just delicious.

Apparently this movie was already edited like crazy after filming was done to satisfy the producers’ demands, and then at the last minute, the production company edited the film down even more to give it a PG-13 rating instead of the R rating the film was originally intended to have, because the producers thought a PG-13 rating would lead to more ticket sales (which it didn’t). That caused the already poorly edited film to be edited down to a nonsensical disaster of a film. Wes Craven was so pissed off, he completely disowned the film after its release & publicly bashed the producers for ruining the film.

There's a horror with Joshua Jackson that i think is quite good(my opinion) but there's unfortunately one scene that has SA in it and i know how you feel about that. I feel the same way about it that's why i only watch it once in a blue moon. It's called: Shutter. It's not very explicit but enough to make one uncomfortable... anyway, i don't really know if I'm asking or not 🤔
