I am so sorry for what you and your family have gone through. You story has touched me. I did see the CBC documentary about so called Chasing Horse some months ago. Very disheartening. I still think there are some genuine healers and Medicine People. There are some people who have high intentions for the good of other people and who genuinely care, but they are few. You have your integrity and many do not act in integrity. Don't give up hope. I am an old Reikii healer who does healing on the land and although I grew up in a native community, i am not native, but I always have been inspired by indigenous traditions. No I am not an imitator or a plastic shaman. I hate the commodification and exploitation of healing as much as you do. Almost all the non native healers I run into in the non indigenous world are exploitative and entitled and think their "expertise" is all about self development and making money, rather than for the benefit of the community. I do think authentic healing does come from the Great Spirit, the God Of Love. Trust your own motives and perception. The world needs people who care about each other and the larger environment. The Good that your grandfather did is not lost and what good you do will carry on into the future.
